I've been floating about. Its just that I've been busy working on a 20-page Criminal Procedure brief, and drafting deposition summaries.
How have you been?

So, it was a party organized by a Black meetup Group I belong to, in Southern California. It was held at a local Hilton hotel. The pool parties are held twice a year, with the next one being in September. Yay cheesy

The tickets cost between $25 for regular admission, and $40 for VIP. Reasonable prices, if you ask me. I came with 3 friends - a Nigerian lady, an African-American dude and an African-American woman. The Naija lady is an Ijaw from Delta.

The cool thing about the party is that two of Davido’s tracks - “If” and “Banana fall on you” were played by the DJ. When those tracks came on, everyone went wild lol. I told my friend that this is Nigerian song, and he was like “this is better than some AA hip hop” grin Most if the songs played were American obviously.

Then, when it came time to order food - the menu prices ranged from $11 to $14 - I was disappointed by the service. I and some others had to stand in line for almost 30 mins before a server came to take my order. I guess the hotel was short-staffed for that day

Anyway, I ordered the humus - a popular Arab delicacy - with a Red Bull. I didn’t want to order an alcoholic drink because I had to drive over half an hour back to my place. I didn’t want the cops to have a reason to pull me over, in case I engaged in “buzzed” driving. Lol

Overall, I would say the party was so much fun, I enjoyed myself, especially when the ladies were twerking in front of me cheesy I would try to make it to the September event as well.

Congrats to the Algerians for a well-deserved trophy. They were truly the best organised team at the AFCON.

By the way, I think the reason why the "golden generations" of Ghana, CIV and Senegal have largely failed to shine in the World cup and AFCON in this century (barring CIV's feat in 2015) is the nature of their midfields. The midfields of these three teams comprises only box-box players and defensive midfielders. None of them had a midfield orchestrator in the mold of a Debruyne, Pirlo, Xavi, Xabi Alonso, Mikel, Okocha, Oliseh, Riquelme etc.

Midfield orchestrators/deep-lying playmakers are important especially in really tight games. These kinds of players have the ability to unlock stubborn defenses with one key pass. Most times, when creativity was needed, there was nobody that took the mantle for the aforementioned teams.

FIFA reportedly wants Nigeria to host the 2020 U-20 World Cup. If Nigeria is eventually awarded the hosting rights, it would become the first African country to host a FIFA women’s tournament.

Guys, CAF Nations League will kick off in August with 36 nations divided into three leagues - A thru C.

The top 12 teams (per FIFA ranking) would be subdivided into four groups, with the winners of each group advancing to the final four in August 2021.

The Republic of Congo have pulled out of hosting next year's AWCON due to lack of financial capacity!

If Nigeria were to step in to host, I think Uyo, Port Harcourt and Lagos (either Agege stadium or TBS) could host the matches.

Labor Secretary, Alex Acosta, has resigned from the position. I had a hunch that the Epstein controversy would be too hot for him to handle, and would make his position untenable

Guys .which midfield combo is better?

Mikel/Onazi (2013)

or

Ndidi/ Etebo (2019)

??
Mikel/Obasi (2013) just shades it because they were, at the time, the perfect combo of creativity and brawn. Our present midfield is mostly brawn and is light on creativity.

CNN will conduct a draw to place the candidates on each debate night, on July 18. The 20 candidates who qualify for the July 30th and 31st debates will be notified by both CNN and the DNC on July 17.
The debate will be moderated by Dana Bash, Don Lemon and Jake Tapper.

Meanwhile, the September 12th and 13th debates will be hosted by ABC and Univision in Houston, Texas. To qualify for that debate, candidates are required to have at least 130,000 unique donors (including 400 unique donors in 20 states), AND hit 2% or more in three selected polls.

"Medicare for all", which is now popular, is a product of liberal intelligentsia. Over 50% of Americans prefer a system whereby the government guarantees health insurance for people who do not have access to private insurance. But most people do not want to do away with their employer-sponsored health insurance plans, so its best for the Democratic presidential hopefuls to not come up with policy proposals that eliminate private insurance.

Why should a defender involve in ball joggling within his/her eighteen yard box? If Balogun was Emanyo, Nigeria/Madagascar duel would have been a different result.
When I said "playing out from the back", I didn't mean that the defender should be joggling with the ball inside her box. What I mean is that the defender should have the composure to pass the ball to a midfielder (or fellow defender) when one opposition player is charging towards her, and when she isn't under any sort of immediate pressure from the opposition.
But in instances where two (or more) opposing forwards are trying to close her down, she can then balloon the ball away or hit a long ball to our forwards.

I don't agree with you on Rapinoe, i think she's above average although I feel Alex is way better. Green is a winger for the UK team, she had the most touches in against Sweden and US respectively during the world cup. When you watch Europeans and Americans play, it's easy to lose hope in our team. A lot has to be done before the olympics if we are to win any medals, even their psychology isn't up to per. We need quick thinkers and players that aren't intimidated by fair skin. The Falcons I watched during the world cup are not the same team I see against African opponents.
Spot on!
During the last WC, most of our players dwelt too long on the ball, trying to figure out the next move. That allowed our opponents to easily dispossess the player in possession, and/or cut out passes with ease.

I appreciate Dennerby's counter-attacking philosophy; it can be useful when playing against teams that love to possess the ball a lot and teams with relatively slow defenders. The problem he had is that the players were, 60% of the time, clueless about how to mount effective attacks on the opponents' goal.

Emenayo is quicker and younger than Ohale.
Why I prefer Ohale to Emenayo is that Ohale knows how to play out from the back.
Emenayo is an "anywhere belle face" defender. Even when she has enough time to control the ball and pass to a teammate, she would still baloon the ball away.

Why's Onome missing? plus Oshoala, I don't understand her again. We need agile players not strollers on the field. People like Greene of UK and Robinoe of US teams. We need coaches like Garry, to achieve anything meaningful in the world stage
Onome is 36...And the last WC was probably her last international tournament for Naija.

Falcon's future center backs should consider Chidinma Okeke, Ugochi Emenayo, Mariam Ibrahim, Ijeoma Kenneth.
Right.
In a 3-5-2, the three defenders could be Okeke, Ohale and Ijeoma Kenneth.

Which team will bring Oshoala, Ajibade and Ohale to the Olympics?
Ajibade and Ohale distinguished themselves well at the WWC.
Oshoala, for some reason was bang average at the tournament; maybe it had to do with the ultra-defensive tactics of Dennerby. However, I’ll still take her along because her pace and strength would be a valuable addition to the team.

The turnout in Stadiums have been very poor, unless Egypt is playing. Why can't they come out and support other teams playing?

Now that RSA kicked them out, they should just kukuma sit their bûtts at home and watch on their TVs. Rubbish
Well, a big reason why few fans turn up at the stadia is the relatively high price of the tickets. The cheapest tickets go for like N3,200!
