U r jst a kid u can go find out the difference between lecturing and teaching, they are not d same thing.

A lecturer is not a teacher n does nt need PGDE but an idiot like u will never understand. My position is dt of NUC n u call it layman anyway what do I expect frm a fool like u
I wasn't really expecting a brilliant reply from you though, bn a layman that you are.

Lecturing is different from teaching

A lecturer is different from a teacher

No need for PGDE for lecturers but essential for teachers
I don't need a suit sayer to know this is a layman's view. PGDE is a graduate diploma in education!
Do you know what education means?
Simply put, its the transfer of knowledge for the benefit of mankind.
And there are different methods of transferring this knowledge, teaching and lecturing is just to mention a few.
Flowing from the above, can you justify your reason for exempting those who use lecturing method to transfer knowledge from getting a graduate diploma in Education?

Wrong
PGDE is meant fr those without B.Ed. who wnt to teach esp. Primary n secondary schools.....
the person u quoted is correct
Education › Re: NUC Scraps PGDE Training For Lecturers With Phds Dailytimes.ng by pedrilo:
As an educationist, this is an affront and attempt to undermine education as a discipline by NUC officials who in themselves are unprofessional teachers. The faculty of education is known as the mother of other faculties in a university and NUC can not change that.
What they shud have done is to send education lecturers abroad to learn modern teaching and learning techniques and have them cascade same via the PGDE programme. Sound learning psychology can not be acquired in a week.
"Education is vocational for educators"
Maybe NUC should bring doctors from UK to teach our pharmacists how to do a doctor's work in a week, since buhari don't have confidence in our medical doctors

I will not give in to emotions in my reply to you young man.
You, I mean all of you unemployed graduates still sitting at home are the cause of your problems!
YES!
You think the society owes you a well paying job with your zero work experience? LIE!
Some of you reject marketing job, you want to earn fat salaries after school. You think companies pay people for facebooking in the office? LIE!
I took a marketing job after i concluded a masters programme, and now I train those that interviewed me and plenty other wonderful and unbelievable things I can not start writing about here.
Go and start small.
If you understand the GOLD story, you will learn to humble yourself.
