Literature › Re: The Conspiracy! by peedeeasobie(op):
Life? What kind of job could this be? The pay is tempting but the risk! Give their lives if necessary?. Lance mused over these again and again without speaking out because that might be his last word on earth.

*****************
2 weeks earlier!

The assembly wasn't unusual. This is their fifth time of meeting. The meeting has been clandestine and ordinary to the onlookers. This meeting is taking place at the house of Alhaji B. All the guests have arrived. Chairman, Alhaji T., Alhaji H, Deputy, Alhaja M., Madam G and Fixer.
"I need situation report". Chairman broke the silence after some minutes. He has been chewing the locally- made kola-nut as his custom is.
I have narrowed down on eight people like we agreed on. Five guys and three girls. We are watching them as we speak". The fixer said with an air of arrogance.
"What about the five governors? How far have we gone?
"We have secured three states, we are still working on the two remaining governors.
"This meeting is adjourned till the fixed date". The Chairman announced with a note of finality.

"Goodevening ladies and gentlemen, firstly let me apologize because of the way u were treated on ur way to this place." The averagely built man started addressing them. Lance couldn't make anything out of the man. His demeanor revealed nothing.
"I want to let u know that you are not kidnapped. And that very soon, u will be on ur way home. We have observed all of you for a every long period of time. We know where u live, what u eat, where u go on a daily basis, ur best friends, ur parents and siblings. What we may not know are the thoughts of ur heart."
"We will distribute files to u and each of the files contains ur individual dossier. Everything about u. This will be expedient in ur survival in life.
One thing we know about you is your desire to get a job. All of you are jobless as it stands.
We have a job for you. We will pay you 2000 USD monthly. This job will require ur guts, ur brains, ur strength and maybe ur life!

The faces were blur. How long has he been out? That he couldn't tell. There was no wall clock and his locally made wristwatch has been taken away from him. No pain, no obvious molestation of his body just a slight headache probably from the sedative.
Lance can see clearly now. The faces in the room- they are all starring like him and in obvious bewilderment! Were they also kidnapped like him? Who are these guys?
He can count eight of them in the room. Five guys and three ladies. Someone has to know something. He opened his mouth to talk but the splitting headache acted as a caution! Suddenly the door opened and an averagely built man entered.

Cuddling his leather file jacket, Lance continued pacing up and down waiting for a bus that will take him to Grace Court Hotel. He saw an advert two days earlier and wanted to try his "luck" which hasn't been anything to write home about.
"How am I going to survive this week?" Lance thought to himself. No money, no friends, no excitement.
A black coloured hummer bus pulled up near Lance suddenly, the next spate of events happened so quickly that Lance ddnt have time to think.
Is this a kidnap? Has he offended anyone? Could this be a ritual kidnap? What do they want? He cldnt get the thoughts out of his mind and neither cld he stop them from coming.

The morning could not have been any worse than this. The scorching heat of the sun, loud noises everywhere, few buses and taxis to convey someone to his destination and the nagging pressure of getting a job. Lance couldn't imagine anythn worse! Dressed in his usual almost fading stripped blue suits and pants. He has been looking for a job since he graduated from the university almost 5 years ago. It started with a compulsion to work in the police academy or state security service or nothing else but now it has graduated to "just any job will do". Today surely isn't his happy day- has he had any happy day of late? No girlfriend, no sibblings and no parents.
Christianity Etc › Re: Was The Sacrifice Of Jesus On The Cross That Big A Deal? by peedeeasobie(m): 7:17pm On Apr 23, 2013
After reading some of the most bizarre, wild and insulting comments here, I wanted to explain the death of Jesus to these ignorant and Godless pple but on a second tot I asked myself, "to what purpose?" It will only foster more foolish talks and satanized opinions! But let me ask a question. Which is more believeable? A good dat will tell u dat if u murder innocent pple, u will be given virgins in heaven? A god dat will tell u to bomb innocent pple? A god dat will tell u to kill a woman who was raped? The more u deride the sacrifice of my saviour Jesus, the more ur foolishness is made manifest. I only pray that God will help u to see the reason for the death of Jesus! It comes by revelation not explanation!

mainman7: You are very right! And instead of him to use his old age to bring unity, the selfish and senseless igbo nature controlled him, he fanned embers of wickedness. u igbos are fools, and bloody senseless liars like achebe, twisting history. I don't know any other tribe that is as ungrateful as d igbos. d Thoughtful Yorubas accepts them like brothers yet they rant about us. They are cowards, hausas are slaughtering their brothers like rams in the North, they do nothing.igbos always think they r d wisest and that is why they are fools who think life is only about money.igbos r d Genesis of d problem of dis country, traitors who spared their greedy leaders in January 29,1966 Coup. The civil war would not have happened. Yorubas don't betray, read history, ur useless father azikwe started d betrayal thing when Awolowo helped him to d top and he didn't fulfill his part of their agreement.in d January 1966 igbo coup,Brgd Ademulegun, Col Fajuyi and other Great Youruba Millitary Men were killed, as usual d ever deceitful igbos, against the agreement, told their greedy leaders to skedaddle. igbos must apologize to d Yorubas now!d YORUBAS are already uniting and getting ready for u people.igbos or hausas, what u want is want u shall get from us,Peace or War!
The facts that u went to school and can speak good english don't make u educated or literate. U have a small mind and very hateful! Education is abt accomodation, tolerance, sharing of ideas, constructive criticism and exposition of ur opinions!
All the ethnic sentiments and tribalisms show dat u are 20 years backward even though u have gone to school and speak good english. Even Wole soyinka and other noble yoruba leaders had only glowing tributes for the deceased nationalist, its either u know better than them or u are simply not unteacheable! The whole world praised the nationalist- its either u know better than the rest of the world or u are simply heady!
Keep ur head down, drop ur illiteracy and learn from worthy pple!

My Fellow NLers/Nigerians, pls kindly ignore and overlook some few sad and hateful ethnic small minded pple who have refused to see anytn gud in a natinalist like Achebe! Achebe was a hero, a nationalist and a patriot. He loved africa, nigeria and ibo land. He contributed so much to the development of our nation Nigeria. He may not have built roads and bridges but he brought international attention to our country, contributed immensely to the development of literature and arts.
Let us not be carried away by the baseless and unfounded criticisms of a tiny and small minded few, its proof positive the Achebe was truly a Hero. Every gud thn comes with its share of criticism.
No matter how much they try to deride him, the world knows the truth. A few ignorant men cannot know better than the whole world!
My Salute and Respect to the Literature giant, nationalist, elder statesman and hero!
Adieu Chinua Achebe!
(Pls hug d closest transformer in ur location if u dnt like ds post and don't bother to quote me if its to criticize me because I wldnt have tym to waste words with hateful pple- get a life!)

Tell us who has contributed to polity of Nigeria. Fela died of HIV, wat did he teach nigerians? Smoking pot and male randiness. Abiola taught Nigerians fraud (ITT), Awo was a tribal leader yet u pple paint these guys to be heros. U need to check the rate of emptiness in ur mind. Sumtn is obviously wrong with u pple. I am not tribalistic but if u don't have respect for a nationalist like Achebe then u need a 5 year course on respect and u need to travel quite often to ur village in order to learn the art respecting elders!

All these people insulting Achebe, u are just revealing the content of ur beings- emptiness! What do u want him to do? Build roads and bridges? I really wld hate to turn tribalistic in this matter but for u to say dat he peddled hate (not lies), it means that the problem is with these shallow pple criticising him. If u say he contributed nothing, show us the person dat contributed sumtn. Wole? Abiola? Fela? Who? If his book touched a cord in u, it means u have sumtn to work on.
