pembisco: Go to hospital nd do a test kald HVS (High vaginal swab). D test wl take 48hrs to be ready. This test involvs detecting d bacteria involvd nd d best antibiotic dt kn treat it.. It shuld cost 1k i tink.. Nd pls dnt use detol to wash ur private part as sm1 stated, use ordinary soap nd clean water. Yes in the past the number of Northerners attending schools were nothing to talk about but in past 15years, a lot has changed. My village that had just one primary school now has three primary schools. It's just unfortunate that that there are no stat to show the number of Northerners now in school as compared to the Colonial era which folks like you love referring to I just find it unbelievable that someone as 'educated as you believes Northerners don't go to school.
The reason for d free education is simple, despite the fact that many parents want their children to go to school, due to the number of children, they can't afford to pay their school fees. With the free education, every child in kano now has the opportunity to go school.
If I may ask what do you suggest should be done about the education in North since you know better?

theoctopus: The core North has never had a problem with free education. They have never had a problem of poeple not being able to afford education. What the north has had is apathy for education. The people have very little interest in education. It is a cultural problem ably supported by the ruling elite. When I was in school, every Northerner from the core Northern states were sponsored by their state government and giving everything they needed. But you still wont find them in school. Declaring free education in Kano is meaningless. It means nothing

Deblow: Some pple can be parochial and self - centered in their reasoning. Every association recognised by law reserves the right to agitate for the best on behalf of its members and each association is independent of the others. The NMA can not be an exception in this case. The Pharmacists and other paramedical associations are always antagonistic of the doctors out of petty jealousy and sheer inferiority complexes. NMA cares not whenever they confront the government with their own agitation but each time the NMA sneezes, they get jittery. Why don't we address issues other than personalities for once!

The truth of the matter is that fed. Govt
needs to call a joint meeting between
NMA, JOHESU and ministry of health to
address all the issues being raised by
each union and same resolved in thier
presence. Govt should not hold meeting
with each union separately because it
may not help the situation. There is a
serious acrimony between NMA and
JOHESU in the health sector and each
union's demands are direct opposite of
the other one such that meeting NMA
demand to prevent strike will provoke
JOHESU to emback on strike. For
example, JOHESU is demanding that only
Doctors should not be made Chief
Medical Directors of hospitals as it is the
usual practise till now and NMA is saying
that only Doctors have the prerogative to
be CMD in govt owned hospitals. So both
unions demand are antagonistic and govt
will do well by calling both unions to the
discussion table and resolve the issues
once and for all. Anything outside this
may not help the ordinary citizens who
are the primary beneficiaries of hospital
services.
