Secondly who is currently in charge of regulating the ivd and have they done anything wrong to warrant a change. I'm aware importation of anything in this country is a business venture, why would soneone hand over his business to you?

I'm sure they don't have any problem with others increasing their salary as long as thiers is increased in proportionate terms as well. There is no way you do med lab or nursing and expect to be paid the same wages as doctors. They are your bosses and you work under them, simple. The work you do is to augment or assist theirs and not the other way around. There is heirachy in everything.

I don't know much about soldiers but I will speak for the engineers and lawyers since I have friends and relatives in that area.
My cousin studied mechanical engineering and my brother electrical engineering. Both were for 5years. My cousin currently works in an oil firm and I can authoritatively tell you that his entry salary was by far more than what a consultant doctor earns. My brother works for a consulting firm where he is contracted out to work for Mtn,GLO services etc. His salary is a little higher than what a house officer earns. How do I know? I specifically asked during one of the doctor strikes and was confidentiality shown certain doctors payslips. Its not as much as you guys make the general public to think.

The lawyers I know earn a good amount of money as well, if the amount we pay them for appearing daily for court cases is anything to go by.

Then again, doctors are trained to save lives. They are trained to work on human beings. One mistake can leadto a pperson's death, one contribution can save a life. Their work has to do with making decisions that alter the course of life and death EVERYDAY. Is that the kind of person you want to pay peanuts. If you were a doctor would you accept to be paid the same amount as a med lab scientist who I think did only 4yrs of training? Try and be realistic man.

When did nurses start feeling too big to be nurses ? Assisting a doctor is an undeniable & integral aspect of nursing . If you feel too big for this go and find another profession.
Nurses started getting confused when they started doing B.sc nursing for hospital nursing ...we all know nobody needs a degree for bedside nursing .

But the state did not pay the doctor's school fees, so why should they expect them to run a charity?If the tomato seller must be paid as at when due, and the garri seller gives no notice b4 he increases his price, or the school proprietor can drive away pupils cos of inability of parents to pay fees, or the landlord can throw out an owing tenant despite the tenant not having anywhere to go, or MTN calls can only go through if I have loaded a recharge card, or NEPA go on strike as they please,THEN THE DOCTOR IS ALLOWED TO NEGOTIATE WITH HIS EMPLOYER AND IF NOT SATISFIED,DOWN HIS TOOLS. Face it, life's not fair.
