I will not tell you what to do, but I cannot keep a friend who deserted me in my hour of need.God forbid.
I mean when the whole world gives me it's back, I should be able to count on you. That is what friends are for.
The down moment should be the ultimate test of our friendship.
Do as your conscience demands.

Depends on your choice and what you want in a relationship.

Dating doesn't necessarily have to lead to marriage. My advice to anybody would be this-Make it known to the other partner that marriage not part of the menu and you will save each other headache and time.

eyenCalabar: Well, it love we are talking about here. If you feel you are really in love with her, then that love should be able to change you. If it can't, then you are not in love because love changes people.

I beg to differ. This is the biggest mistake people make in a relationship. Please understand that the girl has her values rooted deep in christianity and she is simply obeying the command 'do not be unequally yoked with a non-believer'.
Tell me something.Suppose you converted just to win her heart, who between God and her would you say converted you?
And after you have her in the box wouldn't the so called conversion lose meaning?
Give her space to make her choice. But don't change for her sake because that is circumstancial Love.
Love is not forced. If she can't love you for faith's sake then relax and let God himself deal with you at his own time not hers.

Once I said africa ok not kenya but they could be using them for kenya also for the public we simply dont know. The picture is real as is the WWF is real why do you want to know when the picture is taken WWF is still around all we need to know! Here is the link to WWF using drones in Africa.
http://www.policymic.com/articles/20338/google-wwf-drones-google-supplies-wwf-with-drones-to-help-stop-poachers-in-africa

On Tuesday, Google announced a $5 million grant to the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) to pay for a fleet of drone aircraft. The drones will be used to track illegal poachers in Africa who are hunting endangered rhinos, elephants, and tigers and killing them for their ivory horns, tusks, and eyes, respectively.

Poaching has been a serious problem for years, and one of the many challenges faced by law enforcement is the expansiveness of areas in which it happens. There weren’t enough resources to survey in person all of the areas where Elephants and Rhinos are in danger.

Mother Jones quoted Ian Morrison, a WWF spokesman, as saying that the grant will have a huge impact. "The poachers and the crime syndicates that fund them are getting more and more sophisticated,” he said, “and it's time for us to step up our game too, and level the playing field."

The word “drone” has negative connotations, associated most often with the controversial and much-reviled military kind. But with this grant, Google and the WWF have found a way to use the technology to make the world a better place. The poacher-tracking drones won’t shoot or kill anyone, but will be equipped with cameras so that rangers can spot poachers ahead of time and intervene before they kill animals.

The grant is part of Google’s Global Impact Awards program, providing millions of dollars to fund nonprofit tech innovators.

I support this development.
A country like ours derives lots of revenue from tourism.Poachers are a threat to economic development and the sooner they are dealt with the better, but c'mmon read the bolded.
I think you are reading too much plus not every white man speaking in support of Africa is right. The fellow could be disgruntled after losing a contract.

NobiGod: It seem the Kenyans here are Kikuyus smiley

These are the tribal sentiments that plunged the country into war in 2007.It was the majority vote that carried the day.No doubt about that.
I am not a kyuk or Kale infact I am from the coast which was Corded to the core but I voted for Uhuruto.
Now Kikuyu's (uhuru) pop is approx.6 m.The kalenjin's (uhuru's deputy ruto)pop is apprx.5 m.
11 million is aprx the total no. of all kales and kyuks in Kenya. This number includes everybody from 10 months to old age.The legal voting age is 18 years.
In your calculation, it seems as if it's only the kyuks who voted for uhuruto including babies, the sick and the old.
With 14 milion registered voters in Kenya and 11m who cast their their votes, how do u work that out? 11m-6m= 5 m.Where are the kales, masais, pokots, turkanas, kambas, coastarians, taitas, kisii's,luhyas, kenyan somalis'indians, etc etc who voted for ruto in this maths?

Here is what you should do.Take a peep into the voter register from IEBC and see how voters were ditributed.
One would expect a candidate to receive the most votes from his homebase or STRONGHOLDS and campaigns were centred around that, or what else did you expect? If that doesn't happen then there there is a problem somewhere, but it happened. Uhuru's strongholds had the most number of registered voters who TURNED UP TO VOTE.They also invested heavily in campaigns.Infact the campaign machineries used by both sides left me mouth open.
It'simple. For every 3 votes raila received from Jubilee's strongholds Uhuru received 2 from Raila's.That's how tight it was.

Here is a fact and please note this down.
Luos voted for Raila. Almost all Kambas followed Kalonzo his deputy in the coalition and brought in the kamba votes.
Many Kyuks voted for Uhuru.Ruto his deputy, brought in the Kalenjin votes.
Tell me now.Who has any moral authority to call another tribal? Can't you see the Tyranny of numbers at play here?
The kyuks/kales were called all manner of names by the other team because of their nos. and they vowed to hit back through ballot not words.
If you are in Kenya you must be aware of events that played but they all backfired. You know why? Because kenyans prayed not to a witch doctor but to God almighty.

There were other presidential candidates who were received votes from across the country.3 of them come from Uhuru's tribe. In short they split up his votes because a number of kyuks voted for them in their strongholds.Raila had an upper advantage because he had no challenger from his region. But he still lost.
This is a wake up call to all.1 REGISTER TO VOTE IF YOU WANT CHANGE.and SHOW UP TO VOTE because YOUR 1 VOTE counts.

What impressed me about the Uhuruto team was the fact that it brought together the 2 warring tribes who went for each other's neck's in 2007 courtesy of Railas team.
Kenyans voted them in because they wanted reconciliation, healing and progress. They also wanted the west to know that we are in charge of our own affairs.

Raila is all about Ego.That is why he is taking this to court even when his supporters are urging him to concede defeat because a 1 million gap is too big.
Even if you add up the votes of the other presidential candidates to Raila's he would still be second.
We are talking about a man who tried to overthrow the goverment here in the 1982 coup for heaven's sake.
Raila rejects everything. Why is he always the one crying victim everytime he loses?
If the Electoral body isn't credible as he says, let his senators and governors give up their seats and demand a fresh count cz Kenyans have vowed to teach them a better lesson.
And what is more shocking is the fact that, there was a parallel tallying system being conducted by Electoral Observers, who were drawn from all over the world. They gave the process a tick despite the challenges. But No, Raila believes he was the winner.Good heavens.
I am praying that he takes this loss as a leader cz his lawyers will make lots of money out of that suit while we continue progressing.

A nation's interest matters more than an Individual's.

Today has been one of my happiest days!! I am not a Kenyan and never been to Kenya (I am Eritrean). Yet, Kenyans have made history, indeed the have come of age and are taking the rest of us (sub sahara Africans) with them. Today Kenya has taught us how to heal oneself and move forward. Today Kenya has taught us have to challenge the Western hegemony through peaceful and legal ways. It was a victory for the whole of Africa and the oppressed masses throughout the world. Well done kenyans, my fellow African brother's and sisters, may the almighty now shower you with peace and prosperity for you have now become masters of your destiny. hurray to Kenya!!!

Santions: This was one of the propagandas doing the rounds to dissuade people from voting for Uhuru.

Congratulations have poured in from the international community on the election of Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta as the fourth President of the Republic of Kenya.
In a statement sent through the United States Department of State, Secretary John Kerry congratulated Kenyatta on his win and others who were elected, and pledged that America will continue to be a strong Kenyan ally.

“On behalf of the United States of America, I want to congratulate the people of Kenya for voting peacefully on March 4 and all those elected to office. Across the country, Kenyans turned out by the millions to exercise their most fundamental democratic right. I am inspired by the overwhelming desire of Kenyans to peacefully make their voices heard.”

ICC trial won't affect relations with South Africa: Zuma
President Jacob Zuma says Kenya's President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta's trial at the International Criminal Court will not affect relations between South Africa and Kenya. Zuma was addressing reporters in Pretoria after his meeting with the SADC troika on Politics, Defence and Security.

What Uhuru Kenyatta’s Victory Means for Africa

If the result withstands Odinga’s challenge, a win for Kenyatta would represent the most stunning articulation to date of a renewed mood of self-assertion in Africa. Half a century ago, Africa echoed with the sound of anti-colonial liberation. Today, 10 years of dramatic and sustained economic growth and a growing political maturity coinciding with the economic meltdown in the West and political dysfunction in Washington and Europe, has granted Africa’s leaders the authority and means to once again challenge Western intervention on the continent, whether it comes in the form of foreign diplomatic pressure, foreign aid, foreign rights monitors or even foreign correspondents. In his victory speech, Kenyatta said: “Today, we celebrate the triumph of democracy; the triumph of peace; the triumph of nationhood. Despite the misgivings of many in the world, we demonstrated a level of political maturity that surpassed expectations. That is the real victory today. A victory for our nation. A victory that demonstrates to all that Kenya has finally come of age. That this, indeed, is Kenya’s moment.” He also pledged to work together with his political opponents with “friendship and cooperation.” “Kenya needs us to work together,” he said. “Kenya needs us to move on.” In a pointed warning to the international community, he added: “We expect the international community [to] respect the sovereignty and democratic will of the people of Kenya. The Africa star is shining brightly and the destiny of Africa is now in our hands.”

the ICC’s focus on Africa — nearly all of its investigations concern Africans — has earned it accusations of bias. And the manner in which the 2007-8 tribal violence was beamed around the world by the Western media, deterring tourists and overshadowing the story of an increasingly less impoverished, and more healthy, sophisticated and self-reliant Kenya, also drew widespread resentment. At this election, with a new 2010 constitution, and a new electoral body with a new — though not glitch-free — electronic voting system, Kenyans’ determination to hold a peaceful election has been palpable. The popular mood has also been notably anti-Western. Foreign diplomats have been warned of blood-curdling revenge should they interfere in the poll. Foreign journalists have been publicly ridiculed and denounced as prejudiced if they predicted chaos and disaster. And a central message of most candidates’ campaigns was strident, patriotic self-determination. Kenyatta and Ruto — who deny the charges brought by the ICC — managed to convert a Kenyan public that initially largely supported the ICC’s attempts to call them to account into one that viewed the ICC as a representative of unwarranted Western interference in African affairs. In the last days of the campaign, Kenyatta’s Jubilee Alliance reflected and heightened the anti-West mood, saying it was “deeply concerned about the shadowy, suspicious and rather animated involvement of the British High Commissioner in Kenya’s election.” Such assertions of sovereignty are only likely to intensify under a Kenyatta presidency. Ruto’s trial is due to begin on May 28, Kenyatta’s on July 9. Both men have said they will attend — a point Kenyatta repeated Saturday when he said his government would “continue to cooperate with international institutions.” Kenyatta has, however, said that his official duties would prevent their pair from being at The Hague continually — a pointed diluting of the court’s importance, and one that will likely drag out trials already expected to last several years.

From the West’s perspective, a Kenyatta victory presents a conundrum. Assistant Secretary for African Affairs, Johnnie Carson, warned before the election that “choices have consequences,” widely seen as a recommendation that voters should back Odinga. London has already warned that it would keep official contact with a President Kenyatta to a minimum, as it does with Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe. But the reality is that, in a world where Kenya finds itself as much sought after as suitor, Western powers no longer get to call the shots in Africa. In many ways, and particularly in its home-grown innovations in mobile technology such as mobile banking and solar power, Kenya personifies the new, emerging Africa of young and dynamic entrepreneurs. Its position as East Africa’s business hub has only been enhanced by its recent discovery of large reserves of oil and gas. Kenya is also a lynchpin of the U.S. and European security structure in Africa, ranged as it is against Islamist groups and pirates, particularly in neighboring Somalia. Westerners rely on Kenya in other ways too: the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, is the base of choice for much of the international community in East Africa, from large embassies to aid group headquarters to donor conferences to security contractors. And should the West give Kenya the cold shoulder, it may find it is not missed as it once might have been: Chinese, Indian, Middle Eastern and Latin American diplomats and businessmen are also part of the fabric in today’s Kenya.

In Washington last month, Carson’s predecessor at the State Department Jendayi Frazer warned Western leaders to be “pragmatic” in their approach to Kenya, adding she was “troubled” by Carson’s “very reckless and irresponsible” statement, which she called “essentially meddling in Kenya’s election.” The ICC case against Kenyatta “is a weak one and is based on hearsay,” she said in a public discussion at the Brookings Institution, and — in words that might have come from Kenyatta himself — she added the ICC itself was “a very manipulated institution, particularly by the West.”

Paul onminyi: . I respect dat family so much. To me is neva a suprise coz Jomo Keyatta won presidential election why in Prison.
It hasn't been an easy ride. Jomo Kenyatta went through hell in the hands of the colonialists as he FOUGHT for kenya's Independence!
Uhuru was a teenager when the Father died.He has curved out his future by himself without dragging the 'family' in.

Zsupuk: Pendo sasa...Amen to all you said....Uhuru oyeeeeeeeeee...still celebrating u have said it all. Am proud we kept the peace and we elected fresh young people in govt. What am proud of are the firsts...more than 80% paliamentarians gone, first ever masaai woman MP, party with most women candidate winners, 3 with disabilities, a marathone winner, a 19 year old, two indians and most important peace. God has seen us through despite the nayseyers despite the West telling us who they prefer, God does not sleep. Youth are the majority, Uhuru oyaaaaaaaaa... By the way Uhuru means Freedom in swahili. Like you my president of choice Uhuru.

That brings tears into my eyes. The 19 Yr old went door to door! I saw determination in him and felt soo proud.
The first ever masai woman is a sister to my friend. She was in Raila's camp(odm) but was told that she will not win because she was a woman! so she joined uhuru's jubilee and see? They voted for her. The two kenyan indians oh that i love more.It was all issue based.
The marathoner oh my.He floored a heavy weight! I am so shocked by the number of women in parliament.so many,I think we have outdone the Rwandese now?
People used their brains and voted for leaders including those with disabilities, not noisemakers.

Symphony007: stop talking rubbish! You never miss a chance to bash your country, what was impressive about this kenyan election? The results were put together in choas. The electronic counting system broke down and they had to scramble paper from all around the country to get the result. Odinga is already alerging rigging, and even the winner, uhuru, is being investigated by the international criminal court for the part he played in the massive death that followed the last election. How was he allowed to participate in the first place and today he is president and might soon be wanted by the ICJ, is this your definition of "impressive"?

Look at it this way. After the 2007 violence the west was expecting the worst from Kenya last week. The hotels were booked to capacity by foreign media ready to cover 'War stories'.Not sure if you saw the well choreographed cnn 'preparing for war clip'.They seemed to have info that we kenyans knew nothing about. grin
In 2007, I watched the same Raila and team call for mass action, and moments after, hell broke lose. His supporters started burning, looting and killing the 'other tribes' And it was retaliation from the other camps. This is what took Uhuru to hague because he was accused of supporting the targeted tribes. If anybody ought to be in Hague it is Raila plus 2 more people.
But he became prime minister for peace sake. Kenyans came together and reconciled and we are celebrating a peaceful election.

This will pity ICC Against Kenyans and I am waiting to see how this turns out.
The mood here is this, we have forgiven each other and we want to build our country. The ICC of course has it's manadate and Uhuru will comply, no doubt about that.

At the moment the west is warming up to him ,because they were shocked by the outcome as well.An Uhuru trial is a trial against the whole nation. But hey am no lawyer.I just want them to let us build our country.

Now the Electronic systems broke down, but voting had to go on.The Electoral body came out and pleaded with us to be patient and that is why it took us a whole week for tallying to take place. This was the beginning of propaganda.
Do not forget that this was the first time kenyans were voting under a new constitution and there were 6 elective positions to vote for;President,Governor,Senator,MP,Women's rep, plus another. Very tedious and long process. I would hate to be an electoral officer.
Nxt,Tallying takes place under the watchful eyes of all party agents. It's very difficult to rig because the Independent Electoral body only announces results that have been verified and signed by all party agents. If anything is a miss one only has his agents to blame.
Now you cant judge this by the results, one needs to go back and see how events played out in the run to the elections.

The problem of going into an election with a 'I must win mentality' is the cause of wars in Africa.
'Fyi when the numbers kept increasing in favour of Raila he praised the Electoral body saying, they were doing a great job, wait till Uhuru's numbers came in and he cried foul.
Raila has senators and Governors in his camp, who passed through the same process of vote counting. They are not complaining because they won and are full of praise for the IEBC.
Let the courts decide.I am just glad that we have done it peacefully and Kenyans were very patient.

dady12: presently ,i am in kenya right now and i witness the election,it is far more better than niaja ballot snatching election, the problem is the counting of vote which was disrupted by network,it was an electronic voting system. 19 people died including police men due to arm men that attack a polling station in the second largest city to nairobi, and an explosion was heard at a boarder close to somalia,i think it far more better than nigeria election

Your english.
But just to clarify.

The attack was carried out in the coastal city of Mombasa by members of the MRC-Momabasa Republican Council

This is a religious, muslim and illegal council whose main agenda is to cut of the city of Mombasa from the rest of the country because they want to be independent.
Source of funding? Your guess is as good as mine.

They had vowed not to let the coastal people cast their vote, because as far as they are concerned they are not 'Kenyans'but citizens of the 'republic of Mombasa'. total madness.

Few were arrested and are in custody already.

As for the explosion, that took place near the somali boarder.I don't need to explain who were behind it but no one was hurt.

Today is my happiest day. This was a nerve wrecking wait!!! I read a thread here that Raila visited some 'juju guy? seriously, cz that was a day after all

presidential candidates held a major prayer meeting in the city and vowed to keep peace and forgive one another.

Well while he was at it,some of us were praying hard for a God chosen leader.

Kenyans have spoken.I queued for hours to vote for Uhuru and I am glad that he made it! smiley

Now that is not all.Raila is contesting Uhuru's win in court after their well ochestrated propagandas failed.

Well it's him against the will of Kenyans so it is a dead end.We are for peace and it's high time African leaders learnt to concede defeat!

It has been a long walk to top leadership for president-elect.

So CNN after sending journalists to come and cover 'war stories' felt humiliated after kenyans voted peacefully. No stories or videos to show the world.
Now they can't go back empty and must stir up emotions.silly.Their well choreographed video showing 3 'militia' faces covered with baby powder in a forest whose trees are 3 cm wide flopped?. lol.

There's more than half a million vote diff. between the leading and the losing candidate and counting is still going on.
Why can't they let the Independent electoral body do it's work? When electronic system failed they said it was hacked.
Now that manual vote counting is taking place and they are still trailing, they shout 'doctored'.
Should the votes be weighed in kilos? No announcement by the electoral body is made before approval from their party agents, so who's cooking what?
These guys had their figures worked out long before kenyans voted, but the incoming results have shocked and shook their camp .Their opponents have brought in more votes than anticipated and in regions considered theirs.
All the propaganda failed too because Kenyans were smart and prayed for peace to prevail. Now Instead of embracing peace they are preparing their supporters to fight back.
so glad that Kenyans this time are telling them off and foreign media please go home and stop looking for trouble cz it ain't coming. smiley
