We have a lot of people, especially APC and Tinubu supporters, cheering Nafiu Gombe on in his shenanigans in the ADC that if Okey Nwosu resigned, therefore he should be the next to take over and not who NEC of the party handed leadership to.

For the records, NEC of any political party is the highest decision making body of the party. They decide who should be chairman, vice chairman or any official at all. And the courts, up to the Supreme Courts, have said that political parties have right to say who their member is or not, just as matters of party leadership is non justiciable.

Now, we have a precedence just last year when Ganduje resigned as APC national chairman and the party met at Aso Rock and appointed Prof Nentawe as chairman in a NEC meeting which became binding on all organs of the party and was accepted by INEC.

Why is ADC’s case different?

Nwite affirmed Abure until the Supreme Court tacitly said NO. Leadership and membership issues are outside the Court's jurisdiction. What he will be trying to do is not ascertain the leadership of the ADC but to probe whether the handover to Mark was in order.

The Supreme Court has ruled several times that courts should not determine who the members of a political party are or not. They have consistently insisted that once a political party says someone is their member, nobody should question that.

So, like you said, Nwite should determine if the handover to Mark was appropriate which was by my estimation. But we see what happens sha.
