I was not consulted before picking a name for me. Likewise u. We just woke up and opened our eyes to be called names. The names surely have bearings on someone. It is the tag on your neck,your image. It doesn't necesarily get reflected in how lucky or unlucky; rich or poor. In Islam, u are meant to carefully choose the best of names for your child. The best of names (in islam) are Abdullahi and Abdul-Rahman(servant of the Most Merciful). Followed by the names of the prophets... Yusuf(Joseph), Abraham(Ibrahim), Solomon(sulaiman) etc. Such names that have awkward meanings or idolatory correlation are forbidding. Such names that depict war or bitterness are detested. The prophet changed some names of adult when found out to have bad meaning all because U are seen through the mirror of the names you bear. |

Signs of End Time- names of detestible acts will be refined to make it alluring. " O ye who believe, intoxicants, gambling .... are abominations of the devil. So avoid it that you may prosper.."Q5 vs 90. No succes lies in gambling. Where are the pool houses of yeaterday? Where are those that won big then?The seeming reap of it today vanishes like mirage and leaves regret tommorow. Take a stock of those who patronise Baba Ijebu and u see they are mostly the jobless and 'get rich quick' guys. Sometimes, u find guys in suit getting involved but these are the same people that do 'paraga' and 'locomotives' before resumption of work. My friend will plead wt the insane man that lies on his street to give him the lucky nos. If he wins,he lavishes it on frivolities,immoralities. If he looses,the family suffers. Adorable! Oh, This is O-Creative! Ogbeni Rauf(an engineer) is the Governor and doubles as the commisioner for works. The Deputy Governor(an educationist) also doubles as commisioner for education. In as much as we should positively criticise ,we should know that people in government too are not always dummy. All the issues of electricity,in adequate classrooms,theft,re-selling,internet connectivity and host of other issues would have been considered before hand. I think we should just liking the tablets to just 'free textbooks' ,albeit an electronic one . Text books,just like the Opon Imo, get stolen too! Mere biro(ball pens) used to be frequently stolen yet it wasn't stopped but we learnt to write names and insert in the casing. And I remember scrapping part of the pencil to engrave our names boldly. Opon Imo is far cost effective in the long run. Do u know how many JAMB past questions that will be contained in the electronic device? What is d cost of a complete set of printed past question for a single year. This goes for text books etc. Students and their parents have phones and they charge their phones through any means, so nothing is different in this case. This also applies to other issues/challenges been raised. As per handling, the fact that the student might malhandle it does not take d shine away from the noble effort. We are in Jet age; an age when black board are gradually been replaced by electronic ones no matter their durability challenge. Moreover,I buy toys for my kids knowing fully well it might last few weeks. Besides, I train them in handling things and they sure learn. Even if it is just for the sake of knowing what a Tablet look like or actually have a feel of one, let the O-STUDENTS O-ENJOY O-THEMSELVES. 3 Likes |

Nigeria has no business been poor talkless of having to always resort to fuel hike to survive. The common masses have suffered enough anguish that life could not be more miserable than it is in Nigeria. President Jonathan's rule is pharaohnic to say the least. His recent actions and the ones in the pipeline(I guess) shows his heedlessness is systemic and always eager to say "who gives a damn". The scourge of Boko Haram should be completely annihilated. This should not be seen as the clamour of just the non-muslims or the FG alone but also the fervent wish of any Muslim whose religion has been erroneously perceived to be synonymous to terrorism and violence. The quote above,if true, has only shown the ineffectiveness of force to combat and eradicate terrorism. With this approach the future looks,at best,gloomy! We are not talking about the justification of terrorism but we are saying that the present day JIHAD as witnessed world over(maybe wt d exception of few places where the cause and 'minhaj' is justified) has deviated from what ISLAMIC JIHAD truly is. Or how do you explain Boko Haram being ritualist or using charms. " Whoever wears amulet(either Quranic verses/arabic and/or in anyform) has disbelieved in the message sent to Muhammad". The Non-muslims should define what is to be seen as terrorism so as not to make an average muslim see himself as the endangered specie thereby showing compasion to the cause of the 'real extremist'. When I was in University as an architect-in-the-making, my lecturer prevented me from classes cos of mere cap. The HOD forced down her christain gospel cassettee she did in my throat as a condition for registering courses. I swore she said ' U will never graduate from ds dept until u accept Jesus Christ as ur personal Lord and Saviour". She tried. She gave me extra year doing a course I never failed. The Senate ruled that it should be waived for me cos I ve never failed a course before,she stood in d way. I know of more that 10 sisters(my wife amoung) that were one of the best in their classes academically but were expelled due to wearing d Islamic proper dress. ALL THESE SHOULDN'T BE BECAUSE WE ALL ARE NOT THE 'REAL TERRORIST' BUT SEEN AND TREATED AS ONE. To curb the Boko Haram,(1) Islam should not be hated.(2) The govt should not be against the real,unadultrated teachings of Islam.It is not hostile,it accomodates all.(3) Boko Haram should be seen as not representing Islam and be treated as outcast.(4) Boko Haram,may be politically originated but d religious coloration is too much to be ignored and both political and religious approaches should be adopted.(4) However, it should be noted that d problem cannot be solved politically.(5) The FG should create Religious Scholar(of pure islamic teachings- not the likes of the Sultan or Supreme Council for 'Islamic' Awareness) should be tasked in engaging the terrorist academically through all media means if the terrorist remain faceless.(6) The Scholars should be made to see it as an act of Worship(not to get private jets) to purify the religion of Islam.(7) Some of those scholars may be killed but they will prevail afterall.(  The muslim should not have a sultan as their leader -such leaders don't ve enough knowledge to combat extremism.(9) A knowledgeable muslim scholar should be choosen as the Amir not a sokoto sultan anymore.(10) With these and prayer,Boko Haram and its youthful root will be removed(In sha Allaah) and Islam will be ,once again,be purified. 1 Like |

Confusion reigns everywhere! Our land has been desecrated over the years. And we have 'A Jailer' in our current President. Sentiments apart, GEJ has not giving us indication of a joy nearby with his scalar style of leadership. GEJ has spent 4yrs(not 2) merry-go-rounding. So now, Ikenga is 'estranged'. But my estranged wife is still my wife( not necessarily an ex). And since me and my estranged wife bear children,we both should carry the burden of the iniquities of our marriage of convenience. And how will my bewitched opposition in a step mother be responsible for product of our cohabitation? PDP and IKENGA- for better for worse and till death do you both apart. |

Imagine a Father nuturing up a boy as his own son only to find out that the suppossed mother,his wife,only cajouled him all these years into believing the son was his but in reality she was only paid by his step mother to produce a son whose need was just for existence sake and just to bear his name and only to be named as the sole beneficiary in his will after his school and not to fufil a definite purpose in life. The father got to know this and declare the son a bastard(a product of deceit) on the pages of newspaper.The Questions are these -(1) Is d 'Father'(lawyer) a mumu- YES,but a naïve one. (2) Is d 'Mother' fraudulent- YES. (3) Is the suppossed 'son' legitimately a product of the father and hence,can continue to bear his name?- No. (3). Would it be bad for d school,having read d said newspaper,decides to expel the son claiming admission was done under false pretense?- No. Nothing built on deceit should stand;not in the law court,not in the society and definitely not in the hearts of men(good men). |

Let me share a few of the things u might need to be reminded about to make u and us a better muslim with respect to salah; 1. "Between a man and disbelieve is As-salah. Whomsoever abandons it has disbelieved" (2) The first of what mankind shall be accountable for on the Day of Judgement is Salah. Whomsoever uphold it,has upheld his deen". (3) " Whowsoever hears the adhan(call) and not hasten to it, nthere is no salat for such except with a valid reason( insanity,below mukallaf(puberty) age and outright sleep) . "And then, there succeeded them a generation who gave up salah and followed their lust. So they will be cast in Hell" Q19 ayah 59. Read also Q 107. According to scholars, abandoning does not translate to total abstnence or outrightly not praying. Ibn Abass(RA) said it means pple who will not pray Zuhr until Asri,Asri until Magrib,Magrib until Ishai,Ishai until Fajr(subh),Fajr until sunrise. Ayah 2 shares meaning with a similar verse I ve always loved to read and we do frequently share in our Masjid. It is in Surah AL-A'araf which eulogises the noble messenger, establishes his authority and describes him as the giver of glad tidings to the Beleivers(muslims) and a plain warner to the People of the Book(jews and xtains). IT READS: " Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet, Muhammad (s) whom they find inscribed in their Torah and Gospel, in name and description, enjoining them to decency and forbidding them indecency, making lawful for them the good things, which were forbidden [to them] by their Law, and making unlawful for them the vile things, (such as carrion and the like), and relieving them of their heavy burden, and the shackles, the hardships and fetters that were upon them. Then those who believe in him, from among them, and honour, revere, him, and help him, and follow the light that has been revealed with him, namely, the Qur’ān, they are the ones who will prosper’. Council of State or No council of state, a leader must not be a scalar quantity without a defined moral path. Why is he then a leader if he can decide to agree to sink the ship he captains. Besides, it is highly debatable that the content and details of this shady deal truly reflect the the mindset of all there present. Corruption is worst than killing! Alamaseigh is not a mate to a dead coup plotter. This pardon is a total betrayer of the Niger Deltans, Nigerians,the british and the world as a whole. WON'T IT BE BETTER IF WE PRIVATISE THIS FG.
