Council of State or No council of state, a leader must not be a scalar quantity without a defined moral path. Why is he then a leader if he can decide to agree to sink the ship he captains. Besides, it is highly debatable that the content and details of this shady deal truly reflect the the mindset of all there present. Corruption is worst than killing! Alamaseigh is not a mate to a dead coup plotter. This pardon is a total betrayer of the Niger Deltans, Nigerians, the british and the world as a whole. WON'T IT BE BETTER IF WE PRIVATISE THIS FG. MAYBE GIVE TO THE CHINESE TO RUN FOR FEW YEARS TILL GOD END THE MISS-RULE OF OUR CORRUPT LEADERs.

Hypocrites are doomed; in this world and in the hereafter. They are product of mental slavery in this world and they will, surely, be suprised to find themselves dwelling in the abyss of Hell. They are those who choose what to believe of the Holy books;believing in some parts while rejecting others. They only practice religion at choice. Their 'God' only resides between the 4 walls of their synagoes. U know them when they scramble for handkerchief to cover their heads 'in the presence of the Lord'.DECEIVERS. They eulogise nudity, unclothedness and immoral civilization and condemn uprightness and virtues. Know!, that u may not be expelled from NYSC but u may not be exempted from the iniquities of your hypocrisy. HYPOCRITES!

Jazaakallahu khayr for d reception. U ve been consistent and I pray u garner more strenght to do more on behalf of d ummah on ds forum esp on d frontpage threads. Also, can u pls consider a thread like ' Christains, what one question will u ask about Islam'. A thread whereby just one or two muslim mods like u(I guess) will be allowed to answer and dialogue wt d questioner only. No external imputs elsewhere, no derailing d thread. Pls, do u ve ,at least, a vague understanding of my point. Is it worthwhile? Jazaakallah khayr.

mendax:

@PEN_MIGHT; the bolded is very apt. In fact the verse exactly states that: ...And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure for them, and their father had been righteous. So your Lord intended that they reach maturity and extract their treasure, as a mercy from your Lord... Surah Kahf v82.
So i will say that generational curse or blessings could actually exist. But, you'll have to fit the "description" of those to fall within the bracket. For example, the curse on the Jews is only to those among them who disbelieve... so the verse states: "...Cursed were those who disbelieved among the Children of Israel by the tongue of David and of Jesus, the son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed." ...Surah Maa'idah v 78.
Same goes for blessings; though Ibrahim (AS) invoked blessings for his offsprings, all the Arabs and Jews are his offsprings, but the blessings only covered those who believed among them (or are still believing). Although there is another subset of blessing, that he asked for, and Allah promised to give the believing and non-belieing dwellers of Makkah...etc

@OP: what do you mean by bad - luck or good - luck? do you mean bad omen? if its bad omen, the quote above and what others have stated is true. In fact, some of the disbelievers believed in this as regards some of the prophets: ...'They said, "We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen is with Allah. Rather, you are a people being tested."'...Sura Naml v 47.

Allah knows best and may we be granted all the blessings of Allah and protected from His curses.
. Indeed , I ve learnt more from ur endowment. Jazakallah khayr. May Allaah be praised.

Believing in Omen-the 'good' or the 'bad' of takes one outside d pale of the deen. Luck derives its root from omen which in turn takes its basis from believing in the ability of something else to bring harm or benefit. So a muslim cannot be lucky(in reference to luck) but can only be fortunate( in reference to Allah's Qadar). Generational curse? I will like to look at it from another perspective. Though Allah said ' No carrier of burden shall carry the burden of others' , however there is no gain saying that the actions and inactions of parents 'may' take its toll on generations of their offspring. Take for instance the Prayer of IBRAHIM(as) asking Allaah to bless his generations to come. Also,Allaah curses the Jews-their generations of yesterday, today and tommorow. When Maryam brought an inexplicable child, they were quick to relate her to her parents way saying- " your mother is not an unchaste woman neither is ur father of questionable piety". Lastly, the orphans in Suratul Kahf( Moses and Khidr ), it was d generational prayer (some scholars says 10 generations) of their grand parent that khidr fufilled. Allaah knows best but I think d blessings, curses of generation can find its way to later generations EXCEPT ALLAAH WISHES OTHERWISE. Whatever He wishes,he does. Allaah knows and we do not know!

I understand you perfectly, but question goes this way : is it faridu or sunah to wear niqab or burkah. ? Mind you,i'm not ruling out the wear of hijab..if it's sunah bring up the hadis that back it up,if it's faridu bring up the verse in the quran that talk about it.
. To start wt, As salam alaykum. Jumuah sae'ed! I admonish u and myself to show open-mindedness to this discourse. Firstly, I will like to define d arabic terms contained in ur question namely Niqaab,Burqa,Hijab ,Fard and Sunnah. The similitude of ur usage of Niqaab,Burqa and Hijab is like someone interchangeably saying the words Cloth, shirt or apparel. Though they re differnt words, they revolves around d same meaning. Niqaab means face veil. Burqa is a face veil minimally allowing either one/two of d eyes to show. Hijab, contrary to ur understanding, is the all comprehensive, total outer garment a woman wears cladding her with d exception of what may be apparent of her -like a part of her inner clothing, her hand circumstantially,or her voice when needed. Fard is what has been made compulsory by Allah in d Quran;Allah thru d sayings, actions or approval of d Prophet's Sunnah;Ijma(consensus of d sahabahs) or Qiyas(analogical deduction of scholars of knowledge). Sunnah-its meaning has been captured above. Perhaps u mean to say MUSTAHAB,to follow d prophet way (sunnah) is FARD. See d quran for details. According to Quran(see Suratul Ahzab,Nur), Sunnah(see Hijab Imratu-l Muslimah),Ijma and Qiyas,it is overwhemingly proved dt IT IS COMPULSORY FOR A WOMAN TO CLAD HERSELF COMPLETE BY WEARING THE HIJAB EITHER USING A NIQAB OR BURQA). This is d position of Shaykul-islam Ibn Taymiyyah, Sheihk Abdul Azeez bin Baaz, Sheikh Uthaymeen,Sheihk fawzan al fawzan,Sheikh Salih Al-Munajid. Sheihk Nasirudeen Al-albani believed it to be Mustahab. But since Mustahab means someting rewarding his wifes and children used it. Ma sha Allaah, my wife uses a burqa. Allah knows best.

Nuns don't wear hijabs, please. They wear what is known as habits. And in the Christian community they are the only ones required by their church to dress as such. Christian women on the other hand dress as they deemed fit, unlike their Muslim counterpart that is required by law to wear hijab everywhere they go.

How is that not oppressive?

P.S; You don't have to address me for to reply to your comments. We are in a forum for crying out loud. It's what we call interaction.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Family Planning/Population Control: An Islamic Perspective (For/Against?) by PENMIGHT(m): 7:35am On Mar 07, 2013
Bismillah. All praises to Allah. May He shower blessings on Muhammad Rasuululah. Allah says " So ask the people of Reminder(scholars) if u do not know". This matter bothers about Fiqh Waqi'(Contemporary Jurispudence),hence an issue that cannot be discussed without sound knowledge. Firstly,@OP Imam Gazaali as quoted in ur post do not expressly allow the concept of Family Planning through use of Contraceptives. Even though scholars differ greatly on this issue, the numbers of those that are against it far outnumber those in support. Here is a concise positions of Scholars on preventing pregnancy EVEN AT THE NUTFAH(first forty days) stage: Al-Ramli said in Nihaayat al-Muhtaaj (a Shaafa’i book) (8/442): al-Muhibb al-Tabari said: The scholars differed concerning the nutfah before forty days, and there are two views. It was said that it is not proven that it comes under the same ruling as abortion and infanticide, and it was said that it is protected and it is not permissible to harm it, and it should not be expelled after it has settled in the womb, unlike ‘azl (coitus interruptus) which occurs before it reaches the womb. Al-Ghazaali referred to this matter in al-Ihya’ and said, stating that ‘azl is unlike the former case: This is not like abortion and infanticide because those are offences against a living being. The first stage of existence is when thesperm reaches the womb and mixes with the woman’s water, so harming it is an offence. If it has become an ‘alaqah or a mudghah, then the offence is more serious, and if the soul hasbeen breathed into it and it has become a human being then the offence is even worse. Then he said: It is unlikely that it is not forbidden. End quote.
Apart from the above the following are good reason why modern day family planning / Population Control are prohibited- (1) It is following the way of d kuffar-" he who imitate a group is part of them", "towards the end of time my ummah will follow d footsteps of d kuffar steps after other until if they enter the hole, they will follow'. (2) There are proven adverse effect of pills or injected stuff on the woman- Allah says-" Do not kill urself . To the best of knowledge available to us, Family Planning as propagated by the west as a means of population Control is pro
hibited. ALLAH KNOWS BEST!

It's not really as confusing as you make it sound. Iniquities are confessed to God but if another person was affected by our actions, part of our duty is to set the records right. If I told you a lie or stole from you, I won't be comfortable leaving you without knowledge of the truth or returning the stolen item. Read about Zacheaus in the Bible. He went back to those he'd defrauded.
In adultery, there's deception of another person by acting like you've been true. When we do certain things, like the prodigal son, we sin against God and other people. And when we repent, we apologise to God and also to those hurt by our actions
. Adultery differs from stealing. U can return a stolen item, can u UNDO d ACT? No. Islam distinguishes between sins. Adultery,Stealing,Gambling,Killing,Lieing are all MAJOR SINS but with different way u go about repenting about them. Who do u confess to when u GAMBLE? Ur wife? Who do u confess to when DRUNK? Ur friends? When u steal ,Islam says be remorseful, repent, don't return to sinning? The stolen item should be returned to d rightful owner only if it won't endanger u honour further and make u regret ever repenting. If it will bring more evil, just return it to where d rightful owner can pick it up. That is even if d stolen item is within returnable limit. Did u steal pencil in ur pry sch, or didn't u steal powder milk and bournvita in ur mum's absence? Now how do u repent of that and return d stolen items. God is not the author of confussion!
