akankemi1: I didnt know all the Cele church permit such abuse ooo...chained to the alter for months and people worship there every week. The heart of man is black and wicked And who told you all permit ? Taking such a little boy near the altar is even wrong not to talk of chaining him. His action simply shows that he is self-called and not by God. Human beings are like the ocean. Just because a few drops of the water of the ocean is dirty does not mean the whole ocean is. About 80% of so-called pastors pervading the church landscape are not called by God. Thats to tell you that generalization can be dangerous and indictive. |

ATERI: In 8 years that a fellow Yoruba was the President of Nigeria, he granted many interviews but I can only recall one occasion when Gen. Akinrinade talked about restructuring. Should he become President of Nigeria, he is likely to wait for his last year in office before talking about it. Am doubtful but then, neither of us is God. But i dare say Gen. Akinrinade will act if he had the chance. I recollected a statement credited to him to the effect that he would not be happy to die leaving the Yoruba in the present arrangement and i believe him. |

ATERI: Really? Even when PDP was in power? I ask because he used to be very close to Obasanjo. What sense have you made here ? Alani Akinrinade has always been consistent in his demand for restructuring. He condemned Obasanjo's conference as a sham. Even whilst some of our elders in the SW were singing praises of the outcome of 2014 confab report, he gave it the knocks saying the Yoruba did not get what they desired from the conference - a recourse to full regionalism. For your info, he is closer to Tinubu than Obasanjo but went against the former when he and APC took a stand against the conference. That is principle. |

dokiOloye: Thank God few Yoruba men are speaking out against d malfeasance currently going on cos I was beginning to brand every Yoruba man as two faced and a hypocrite. B4 d coming of Buhari, the pppl who made s most noise abt restructuring d country was d old AD/AC/ACN led by Tinubu wc later melted into d APC but a whole pastor(Osunbade) who is supposed to be d highest ranking member of that group recently told us that restructuring and regionalism isn't what Nigeria needs. Look at d wide scale murder of christians and christian communities going on in d north, yet I don't see any prominent Yoruba person in Govt or APC hierarchy condemning it publicly. By now,it is obvious that Booohari isn't fighting corruption but only fighting his enemies yet d usually noisy Lagos-Ibadan press is silent. What about d lopsided nature of Booohari's appointments?Yet none of these ppl are speaking up. It's now obvious that Booohari did not write WAEC and is using only a letter of recommendation from his principal to govern 200 million Nigerians yet Falana who used to decieve ppl that he is a human rights activist is even in his legal team and d usually mouthy Yoruba intelligentsia is unusually quiet. I could go on and on. Thumbs up to Gen Akinrinade. Yoruba, yoruba and yoruba. How many from your own timid region have been speaking for a change ? Chiefs Ayo Adebanjo and Reuben Fasoranti never let up on the inevitability of restructuring. Recently, Yinka Odumakin took a fellow yoruba, Osinbajo to the cleaners in a brilliant article for daring to speak against restructuring. Are all these men not Yorubas again or is it only the Yoruba that is saddled with speaking against injustice ? Rather than treating an issue objectively on its merits or dimerits, it has become an obsession for people with parochial tendencies to bring in tribal colourations. |

I think we should admonish them to embrace peace, Nigerians ain't smiling at the moment, and they should stop compounding the challenges facing the Country at large! We need peace to achieve the Change we asked and voted for! Enough of incessant Bombings! Let the FG implement the report of 2014 confab or the country should go back to its former regional system. You don't plan on inaccurate census figures and expect the right result. Besides, no multi-ethnic country can succeed on falsehood. Nigeria census data is fraudulent. Dishonesty in any family does not enhance unity, cohesion, co-operation hence success. Nigeria is a country where patriotism has taken flight from her dictionary. Everyone accross the strata strives only for self, family or tribe. A circus show. |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Will Not Win A War Against The Niger Delta by PenSniper: 8:55pm On May 26, 2016 |
HurtgenForest: This thread is for those deceiving Buhari, shouting "A new sheriff is in town, bomb the ND, kill them all."
First of all, their are foreign powers that want Nigeria to break, this is no longer news and I will not write much on this.
The Nigeria of today is not the same Nigeria of 1966 like many myopic people are thinking.
If the FG decides to go to war with the ND, you can be sure that the whole eastern region will be drawn into battle.
The MB will not join Nigeria to fight against the east like they did in 1967. You need to interract with guys from the MB and observe what they think now. These guys will do anything to throw off the dead weight of the core north especially considering how "good" the fulani has been to them all these years.
If there should be another war you will likely see military merger between the MB, the ND and the SE against the Yorubas aligned with the hausa/fulani core north
Very fierce battles will be fought especially around the MB axis. Let me point out here that by then the east would have completely cut off the FG from crude oil supply.
Let us not forget boko haram. They have not been defeated but only weakened. When the war breaks out(God forbid), boko haram will quickly overrun and annex parts of the north. The Nigerian army might then have two major battle fronts. Boko haram has links with the Sahel and ISIS.
Different world powers will align with either side. One thing is sure, Nigeria will not win the war.
Any other war in Nigeria will certainly lead to the break up of Nigeria because the center will no longer hold. That would be dream come through for IPOB even though I am not one.
A word is enough for the wise. Wonderful dreamer winning a war on paper. |

blackpanda: Apparently your comment is not so smart. This same situation has repeated itself severally, in jos and the north east. Fayose is setting the stage for another insurgency. Govt shld never be seen to support an eye for an eye. That is a sure recipe for chaos. So if fayose supports the killing of fulani herdsmen, what do u think will happen in all the northern states?? Shld they also support the killing? Think before u blab!
And no, I dont hate fayose Mister, in the SW, it may take us time to react but when we do, we do so not only with guts but with brains. You should ask yourself why Buhari has branded these hordes as Lybians if not complicity. Yes, let heavens fall, the earlier we chant "to your tents, oh Israel" the better. Something must serve as the catalyst for that to happen if it must happen. |

Must they place money over and above their lives and identities ? If they ask them to close their shops, let them go further by packing and returning home. Buhari wittingly advised those concerned to take reprisal attacks against the terrorists by claiming they are Lybians. In other words, we would be killing foreigners who dare molest us in the name of fulani herdsmen. |

We are astute thinkers and civilized liberals. To every yoruba; our yorubaness comes before religion or any other mondane thing. Religion cannot divide us nor be divided by religion. Your thinking is way out of touch with reality. |

omonnakoda: What is funny? Mumu !! What is Yoruba Muslims?? You think you can create division along religious lines then you do not know the meaning of Yoruba. If you are looking for how to divide Yoruba religion is the one thing that CANNOT work.Aregbesola has Christian siblings. Tinubu and Fashola have Christian wives .There is hardly any Yoruba family that is not like that . Thousands of Christian Yoruba men every year buy Ileya rams for their mothers, mothers in-law, wives, sisters and so on despite being Christian your folk will never understand
.Indeed the greatest proportion of Yoruba Muslims among indigenes is in Lagos State. Almost all Obas in Lagos are Muslim and their Islam did not come by force. Even many returnee slaves like the Williams family are full of Muslims. Many Muslims in the 50s and 60s went to missionary schools and can conduct Mass as well as lead Islamic prayer.Yoruba do not feel any affinity for Fulani on religious grounds or politically
Who are the Fulanis that have ruled Nigeria
1960 Balewa Zik President Nwafor Orizu Senate President
1965 Balewa Zik President Nwafor Orizu Senate President 1979 Shagari Alex Ekwueme Vice President Edwin Ume Ezeoke Speaker House of REPs 1983 Shagari Alex Ekwueme Vice President Edwin Ume Ezeoke Speaker House of REPs 2007 Yar'adua Goodluck Jonathan etc ALWAYS YORUBA WERE IN OPPOSITION> FACTS ARE STUBBORN
So if you are looking for the slaves of Fulani Yoruba land is not the place to look
In the same Yoruba families you will find many Iseses .Have you wondered why all Yorubas are so protective of Oro and similar traditions. The reason is simple they are Yoruba first and everything else second. Not the other way round like our brethren who have sold and deleted their identities May God continue to bless you. Proudly Yoruba, Proudly Oodua. There is no tribe like it- its phenomenal. |
