It makes no sound reading. Rather chickish in level if you don't mind.
It takes intellectual discourse to enhance learning which i would rather advise.

Again contrary to what you tried to insinuate, to the mainstream yoruba, it would be good riddance of bad stench should the Ibo have their biafra and go home, which they must anyway.

Many peole from south east are now suffering from identity crissis.
How can you be igbo and be lagosian at the same time?we africans are cultural and ancestral by nature. The fact that you were born in surulere doesn't make you yoruba, thereby does not make you lagosian. Not all yorubas are lagosian. But you have to be yoruba first before being a lagosian. Igbo are best described as having permanent recidency in lagos. That's what's happen when u spend too much time in other people's land. Identity crisis
They are also the applicant but rejected jews of Nigeria.
Their identity predicament is legendary.

By Roland Ediri Idimi

I was talking with a Yoruba friend on December 18, 2015 and it was really a funny discussion. At first he said Roland the Southsouth is not part of Biafra and I responded to him that we are. I had to educate him that we are one indivisible people. That the states strategy today was formulated to divide us and it has not worked.
I asked him, “the Governor of my State (Delta State) where is he from?” I could feel how cold he became when he received my response, that my State
Governor is an Igbo man and he is called Arthur Okowa Ifeanyi. Governor Okowa was born at Owa-Alero in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The next he said was that we would suffer under the Igbos. I had to bring him up to speed, that there would not be any thing like that. The whole states in Biafra are blessed with mineral resources and every state shall be responsible for its land and the resources it contains.

Then he said, “the Igbos will fight with us.” My response is, we and the Igbos are one people who are bounded together by same ideology; culture and religious belief and these are the criteria that form the basis for peaceful coexistence.

At this point; he realize that I am not one of those the Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba can deceive with their divisive strategy against my Igbo brothers.
At least; I asked him one question which he could not answer me. I asked him the following:

(a). Why are the Yorubas and Fulani/Hausa fighting really hard to ensure that they create divide between the one people of the Southsouth and Southeast?

(b). Could it be that they love the people of the Southsouth so much and wanted them to join Arewa or Oodua?

(c). Could it be because they are very interested in their economic; political and sociological development and want to ensure that they are developed when they join Oodua or Arewa?

(d). Is it the Igbos who shared the Niger Delta which include Abia and Imo into oil blocks among themselves?
(e). Is it the Igbos who fight against true Federalism and Resource Control which we have been clamouring for over the years?
(f). Is it the Igbos that shut down all the ports in the SouthSouth (Port Harcourt; Sapele; Koko; Calaber; Warri) for the port in Lagos just to kill the commerce in SouthSouth and SouthEast?

(g). Is it the Igbos that fault and kill the PIB proposed with 10% community share?
(i). Is it the Igbos that concession Onne Port to Atiku Abubakar to continue the exploit of the people of Rivers State?
Till now I am still expecting answer from my friend…

List of High Commissioners of the United Kingdom to Nigeria
Countries belonging to the Commonwealth of Nations typically exchange High Commissioners, rather than Ambassadors. Though there are a few technical differences, they are in practice one and the same office. The following persons have served as British High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria since the country gained its independence from the United Kingdom on 1 October 1960:

1960–1963: Antony Head, 1st Viscount Head[1]
1964–1967: Sir Francis Cumming-Bruce[2]
1967–1969: Sir David Hunt[3]
1969–1971: Sir Leslie Glass[4]

Saw propaganda machine and fakery. Now, it is not that Ironsi repealed the regions, a false story you guys have been carrying around for years, it is that he introduced unitary rule. Remarkably, you people never mention the fact that Ojukwu negotiated a confederation in Aburi which Gowon ignored and created States to forster the 'divide and rule' policy of the North. A move which Ojukwu resisted which led to the war. The same SW people who helped the North to wage a war to entrench the full blown unitary system introduced by Gowon which we still practice today are the same ones accusing Ironsi of introducing the unitary system just because he was an Igbo man. Laughable.

Ever Military regime runs on one form of unitary system or the other. Decree 34 did take away some powers from the regions and centralise government but it did not make Nigeria unitary in nature. Remember in regionalism, the center is weak while the federating units (the regions) are strong. Naturally, there was no way the four Military Governors Ironsi appointed were going to stronger than Ironsi himself, hence decree 34.

The important thing to note here is how much power did the regions lose under Ironsi to become unitary? Not much. An example is this. On the 30th of May 1967, the day Ojukwu declared the Biafra. Just before Ojukwu was about to make the announcement, he looked around noticed that there an important dignitary who was absent. Ojukwu instructed that the man be present, so the announcement was held up for more 20 minutes as Ojukwus aids rushed to inform the man that his presence was needed. Do you know who that man was? He was the British ambassador to Eastern Nigeria. If Eastern Nigeria was strong enough and autonomous enough to have its own ambassadors, have its own flag, have its own consultative assembly, have fiscal responsibility and resource control, things that disappeard under Gowon and his state creation, how then can you that
decree 34 introduced unitary rule?
A British Ambassador to Eastern Nigeria ?
Nay, how many ambassadors did Britain have in Nigeria as a whole at that time ?
Please tell me.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Ask God For A Vision. by PenSniper: 7:41am On May 16, 2016
Btruth:
Monday May 16

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”  Heb 12:2

Ask God for a vision

A vision is a picture of what “can be” rather than “what is.” Your vision may be to bring health where there is sickness—like the vision Albert Schweitzer had for Africa. Or of education where there’s ignorance—like the one that motivated Gilbert Tennent to help establish
Princeton University. It may be a vision of freedom where there’s oppression—like the one that made William Wilberforce give up a life of privilege to eradicate slavery. Or your vision may be smaller and simpler—like being the first one
in your family to graduate from college, or becoming a great parent to your child even though you never had one. Or breaking a bad habit before it breaks you…or overcoming your fear of technology and learning to use an iPad…or spending your retirement years impacting the world around you instead of sitting in a rocking chair waiting to die. Thoreau said, “If you’ve built castles in the air…put foundations under them.” But having a vision isn’t enough; there has to be a commitment to act on it. That’s called a mission—and it requires setting specific, measurable steps to achieve it. Those steps are called goals; they establish a plan for accomplishing your mission and thus fulfilling your vision. You’ll generally have one vision, but many goals. And each goal you reach brings you a step closer to fulfilling your vision. And here’s the really good news: When your vision comes from God, He’ll give you the strength, wisdom, connections, relationships, and resources to make it happen because He’s “the author and finisher of our faith.”
Thanks

I could hit the search button on Google and land on any SW propaganda website that can economical with the truth. The above could be the view point of any body. The question Im asking which you don't want to answer is, how could Ironsi have repealed or abolished the regions when at the time he died in 1966 all 4 regions existed? Like I said before, the unification decree, or the decree 34 you are talking about did take some powers away from the regions because it centralised government which is how all minitary regimes functions. Gowon abolished regionalism in 1967 and announced the creation of states. Did Ironsi return from the dead and posse
s the body of Gowon or something?
The fact you need to ponder upon is- is regionalism synonemous with unitary system of government ?
As of the time Gowon took over, the regions existed without their powers of autonomy which had been taken away by decree 34.
Isn't it funny that so far you are the only one i know of that has ever denied the import of decree 34 by Ironsi ?

. . .below is a quote from google confirming the truth that Ironsi abrogated tegionalism and replaced it with the unitary system in futile hope he would be able to impose his iboness on Nigeria- ibonising all strata of government which he actually embarked upon before he was killed like a fool He got wind of the coup that took his life but waited like a seating dock.
If you still remain adamant, i shall copy the link for you.

194 days in office Edit
Ironsi inherited a Nigeria deeply fractured by its ethnic and religious cleavages. The fact that none of the high-profile victims of the 1966 coup were of Igbo extraction, and also that the main beneficiaries of the coup were Igbo, led the Northern part of the country to believe that it was an Igbo conspiracy. Though Ironsi tried to dispel this notion by courting the aggrieved ethnic groups through political appointments and patronage, his failure to punish the coup plotters and the promulgation of the now infamous "Decree No. 34"—which abrogated the country's federal structure in exchange for a unitary one— crystallized this conspiracy theory.[1
gidgiddy:
This thread is about Ojukwu, but leading up the civil war neither Zik or Ironsi were in power. Ironsi was dead almost a year before the war started, Zik was out of power even longer than that. Gowon and Awolowo were like no 1 and 2 man during the crises so they must be mentioned because they are relevant. You say Ironsi repealed the regions? Ironsi died in 1966, the regions were abolished in 1967. So how did Ironsi do this? Did he come back from the dead? The unification decree Ironsi promulgated only centralised government, it took some powers away but it left the regions intact. So how did Ironsi destroy regionalism when it was
Gowon who announced on 27th May 1967, the abolishment of the 4 regions, the creation of 12 states and the removal of fiscal policy and resouce control? This is not about asking elders, it's about
answering questions.

This thread is about Ojukwu and not Ironsi or Zik. Ironsi was never an Igbo leader. Ironsi was just an Igbo who happend head of the Nigerian army when mid level officers conducted a coup and the resultant effect was him becoming head of state unexpectedly. Whoever told that Ironsi destroyed regionalism? The four regions were existing months after Ironsi died. So how could Ironsi have destroyed it? It was Gowon that came in and dissolved the regions, created states and introduced unitary rule which we still have today
If this thread was about Ojukwu, why then did you bring in Gowon and Awolowo ?

Again, i would've advised you to consult your elders but then i remembered they too hardly reason objectively in matters that involve their tribe.
But i repeat that you are deliberately falsifying history and records.

Aguiyi Ironsi repealled regionalism in Nigeria by a decree and replaced it with Unitary system of government which Gowon inherited at take-over.
A simple google search will enlighten you on this assuming you are being sincerely ignorant of the facts.
PoliticsRe: Ojukwu The Most Incompetent Military Leader Of The 21 Century by PenSniper: 9:04pm On May 14, 2016
gidgiddy:
OP, you have your some facts wrong. Gowon did not create states because Ojukwu declared Biafra, rather, it was the other way around. Ojukwu declared Biafra because after going to Ghana to negotiate a confederation with the existing 4 regions, Gowon went on to break that agreement by creating States. The 'divide and rule' started by Gowon is the same thing that the northerners use and still use to dominate Nigeria. The same true federalism which many Yorubas today say is
what is best for Nigeria is what Ojukwu went to get, and got in Aburi, Ghana. But the same Yorubas and their leader Awolowo had no
problem with Gowon and his fellow Northerners going back on the agreement, destroying federalism, creating States and taking away resouce control.
Awolowo was all too happy to '2ic' to Gowon and protect his peoples interests. When Ojukwu declared Biafra in response, they vilified him. Till today, the same Yoruba man is looking for the same true federalism Ojukwu went to Ghana to get, and got,but has no problem calling Ojukwu a fool for not being a
'northern a$$licker' like Awolowo. All the Yoruba man knows is "we saved our selves from being killed by the Northerners by accepting

one Nigeria while that stupid Ojukwu had millions of his people killed by not doing what we did". Shameful

I thank God that he created me an Igho man and didn't give me this level of cowardice
You spoke out of sheer ignorance or hypocrisy.

Your igbo leader, Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi, destroyed federalism and regionalism with a decree and not Gowon.

From time immemorial uptil 1979, another boot-leaking leader of yours, Nnamdi Azikiwe, was always willing to play the second fiddle to the northern oligarchy for filthy lucre and to the detriment of his own people.
Consult records for facts and stop dishing out trash and fables.
