Tinubu needed to field a strong Northerner to get Northern votes. The North happens to have a majority Muslim population so he needed to field a Northern Muslim to get their votes.

I'm from Edo and I voted Tinubu. But from what I've seen, the Yorubas are easily the most brain washed and deceived by outsiders (Afonja, Akintola, Lagos Yorubas).

In 2015 they gave over 80% of their votes to Jonathan yet he lost.

In 2015 and 2019, APC won SS States.
The 5 SE States in 2015, 2019 and 2023 voted only one candidate (GEJ, AA and PO) and they all lost.
