DeLaRue: So, is it a passenger or cargo airport.
I wish Ekiti state success. But I'm baffled that they put all this money into building an airport.
The total number of people flying from Ekiti to Lagos per day is not up to 50. They currently fly through Akure, Ondo State, which is about 50mins away. Which airline is going to detour to Ado Ekiti to pick 15 or 20 people
If they say it's for cargo, where is the demand for cargo flights in Ekiti when Federal govt has almost completed a new cargo section in Akure. Ekiti mainly produces rice, Cassava, yam, maybe plantain too. So, are they planning to fly cassava to London?
Nigeria is a perplexing and confounding country. You know why Nigeria remained undeveloped and with no railway for 62 years? Cos most people in power were thinking like you. They said, there wasn't need for railways because there are roads everywhere. Roads is enough for transportation of people and goods so no need to waste money on railways. |

thunder74: These are my conclusions on this: 1. To use sit at home as an excuse for low turnout at the campaign ground on Monday since they are not popular in the East and Tinubu can not pull as much crowd as Obi did in Lagos.
2. IPOB said they are not the one enforcing sit at home order and don't know anything about UGM, probably APC may know those in charge and order them to stop enforcing it.

Nightwolf1: In life some things are not meant to be known without deep understanding of the inner self.
Accidents do happen but some accidents aren't just mere accidents. When you look deeper into these accidents, there an underlying forces behind them.
It is difficult to believe the story surrounding Ifeanyi's death. That a little boy could move around in that house unnoticed untill he found himself by the poolside and jumped in?
This is hard to believe considering that there are people in that house. Yes real people. His friends, relatives and nursemaid. So what happened?
Are they equally saying that Davido has no CCTV camera mounted around his house? I don't believe it. Even my uncle who is not as rich as Davido has CCTV cameras everywhere in his house including the pool side.
So, something is not adding up. And by my own thinking, what happened to Ifeanyi was deliberate. There is no accident here. Fool.. The case of that kid that drowned in a swimming pool, were they not people around? Wasn't there even a CCTV? And how is it something out of the ordinary for a little child to move around the house unnoticed? I've said it before, if I was a white man, I'd be racist to black people. They're all animals.. |

Not withstanding, members of economy Council can only give advise to the right organs, it is left for the right organs to act on it or not. Economy council is not the the minister of Finance, is not the CBN governor that controls economy. Know this and be at peace. So why do you blame Tinubu for what's happening in Nigeria? He's not the minister of financial nor the CBN governor that controls the economy. Judge both of them on where they had 100% control over. Judge them on the States that Governed during and after their tenure. |

Reference: This is where rail infrastructure should have been located. A coastal rail line interconnecting ports along the coast from Lagos all the way to Eket with spurs heading east and north. This will have removed tremendous loads off our intercity highways and drastically lowered the cost of maintenance. We need to be strategic thinkers for comprehensive development. That port on its own without viable supporting transport infrastructure can transform Lekki into a vehicular nightmare. And what do you think Buhari is trying to do? He's trying to link all seaport to the border.. And right now, the LAKIJA corridor (of which the Maradi border is situated) is part of that border. It's one of the busiest border in Nigeria. |

Vote a leader whose interest is more in ensuring the future of Nigeria than satisfying the immediate hunger of today's ancestors.
If Nigeria had listened to the current World Trade Organisation Chairman, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the then Governor, Peter Obi's advice to develop a saving culture and leave the ECA funds in the time of plenty, our country's economy will not be struggling as bad as it is today.
Vote a leader with foresight. Vote a leader who knows how to effectively cut cost in governance. Vote a leader whom we will be proud of telling our children and grandchildren when they come of age that "Even though others did not, I supported this man"
Vote Obi-Datti 2023. Wasn't Peter Obi part of Jonathan's economic team when NOI adviced funds to be saved for the ECA? Peter Obi is part of PDP Government that failed us. |

Consider Nigeria has your private business and support the best candidate Peter Obi to fix this dieing company. It is now obvious that Peter Obi doesn't know what to campaign with anymore.
Very soon he would totally run out of things to campaign with.
By the time the PH refineries start production by December, coupled with the completion of Dangote's refinery, Peter Obi wouldn't be able to use, "Nigeria doesn't have a working refinery" to campaign with..
Although some of his brain dead supporters might say the refinery only started working because of Peter Obi's criticism. Just like some fools here on NL said the the Zungeru dam was completed because of Peter Obi. Some even said it was because of Peter Obi criticism that made Buhari buy those siemens transformers last month. Some said it was because Peter Obi visited Egypt that's why the bill allowing States, individuals and companies to generate and transmit power passed second reading..
Buhari will completely remove fuel subsidy when PH and Dangote refineries start working and PO will no longer be able to use subsidy corruption to campaign with anymore. |

Comparing Nigeria to China and India in football. Let's go Nigeria has players like Osimhen, Ndidi, Iwobi, Iheanacho, Chukwueze, Awoniyi, Bassey, Aribo, Dennis, Onuachu, Simon, Sadiq, Lookman, e.t.c. That's at least ten players all playing for high profile clubs in high profile leagues. Can we repeat the same for India and China?
Nigeria is ranked 32nd amongst footballing nations. India and China by comparison is ranked 106th and 79th out of 211 nations. So yeah, they're not role models when it comes to footballing ability. You would expect everyone who knows football to know that.
Quota System education mad sha. Religion, Tribe and Insha Allah, that's all. Every other thing, zero!
Congrats to Osimhen today though. You are just being stupid like Peter Obi. Peter Obi talked only about our population and not talent or FIFA ranking when he talked about us not qualifying for WC. From what he said, anybody that isn't brain dead know what he meant. According to Peter Obi, Nigeria should qualify for WC just because we are over 200 million. So Bachir Ahmed was right to use countries with population even higher than Nigeria's to counter Obi's foolish statement. Countries qualifying for WC isn't about population or even talent or ranking. If not only populated countries would qualify and only the highest ranked Nations would qualify. Even Italy that won the WC last didn't qualify.. If it was Tinubu that said this thing now, it is only then you would see that it was a foolish thing to say. |

Babysho: It's these type of facades I'm talking about. There's no such thing as free education. Countries in Europe, their governments pump billions of Euros from tax collected into education. Even in USA, students run into debt just to get educated.
If your kids' school was free in Nigeria, you'd not send them there. Besides, in my opinion, it's also a strategic incentive to make students work harder knowing it's coming from their parents' pocket directly and I think it yielded results.
In conclusion, Obi just strikes us as someone who is willing to work for us all and we need that. Would you have justified Tinubu if he had said education isn't for the poor? Didn't Umahi made the same statement earlier this year and you Obidients were insulting his life? Same way you insulted Keyamo when he made the same statement.. I've said it before, that if Peter Obi win by some miracle, he would do exactly the same thing Buhari is doing, eg. take loans, pay subsidies (if Buhari doesn't end it before handover), increase price of fuel, send money to Niger for their security, continue and complete the railway to Niger Republic, continue the bogus allowance to the senate and HOR, ASUU etc.. But you guys will still support him. You would defend him and say, didn't Buhari also do it? I myself know that good education isn't cheap. I always use to defend the school fees of Private schools and universities owned by Churches like Covenant univeristy. But for a Governor to increase school fees from N30,000 to over N130,000 and tell the people that education isn't for the poor, that's indefensible. Peter Obi goofed there. I'm sure you would never defend Buhari if he increased the school fees of all federal universities so good education can be provided. You would never have defended Tinubu if he increased the school fees of LASU by over 1000% and tell Lagosians that education is not for the poor. |

Babysho: It is not rubbish, it's your country's economic history and it's in a book. I totally understand where you're coming from, you also want the best for our country like I do but if you're not careful, you'll miss it!
Concerning Tinubu, Eko Atlantic is a very laudable initiative but it still doesn’t do anything for you and I. It only puts more money in the govt pocket but that revenue needs to go into quality schools, important infrastructure, affordable housing, into us! I hope you understand what I’m driving at.
Concerning free education? It’s a facade. You dare not take your own kids to public schools. You don’t even know how much good education cost in the west.
Infrastructure is lacking heavily for a population of 20m. Have you seen the wait time at the BRT? It’s insanity. There is no reason why we shouldn’t already be using rail like Addis Ababa of 5m population and even lesser revenue. It takes only 7 years to complete even complicated subway systems in saner cities.
Concerning Tinubu's IGR? Lollll!! No city in the world uses IGR to brag. It’s mostly just tax! Let me explain what Tinubu’s IGR meant. He increased tax on individuals and private companies which are mostly foreign companies. In turn, these companies simply increased the cost of their services and products they were offering poor Lagosians. These meant Lagosians had to work harder which reduces HDI, BUT this is not a bad initiative, ONLY IF the proceeds of the tax is used to increase the standard of living of the proletariat which Tinubu did not do as seen in the HDI, in our lives.
If you really want to see Lagosians' standard of living for what it is, quit looking at the flashy things like the G Wagonz of oil companies CEOs in Lekki/VI or the things you strived to acquire yourself and then look at how LASG has helped you protect these things. A man that said education is not for the poor can't be compared to Tinubu who provided free education. |
Politics › Re: Kashimbilla Hydroelectric Dam In Taraba Awaits Commissioning (Pictures) by Perfectbeing(m): 11:58pm On Oct 28, 2022 |
Babysho: I see.
The economic development you see in Lagos today is as result of a something called OPPRESSIVE CAPITALISM that was kickstarted in Lagos when Nigeria was a colony. The same reason why Europeans chose to exploit Nigeria through Lagos, is the same reason why foreign investment troop into Lagos; it’s strategic location - which has now given it economic history. And this has nothing to do with the governors. Whatever development you see in Lagos is private.
For the government, one of the tools in which we can measure government performance is HDI. The tax from the private sector/foreign investment can be used to improve human development through life expectancy, standard of living and education. If you live in Lagos, you’d know that all of these are terrible. Life expectancy is 61 years(difficulty in transport, traffic gridlocks, insecurity etc), standard of living of the proletariat is low(no housing, no water), the sch system is so bad, public sch teachers don’t send their own kids to public schools. Concerning healthcare, Tinubu still flies out for basic check up. What Tinubu knows how to do best is find the loopholes in govt.
If Abia, Zamfara or Benue was in that location, they would be the Lagos of today irrespective of the governor.
In conclusion, using HDI, there are definitely worse governors than Lagos state governors but you must be able to measure the ratio of the state’s history, factors of production, strategic location which all defines their ability to create revenue and then the revenue to the HDI. Lagos revenue is not matching human development at all.
Don't get me started on Tinubu's corruption allegations because I suspect it is the cause of the redundancies in human development in Lagos. All those things you wrote up there are rubbish.. If you believe Peter Obi was a better governor than Tinubu, then there's no need arguing with you. Farewell. |

I do think there are several aspects he could have done better as governor but overall, he's still the best candidate by a large margin.
