Up till today, so many Nigerians don't even know how the country works.. Most of us view things with emotions.
N14.8 billion in a year is not too much for the Presidential villa. Do you guys have any idea how many computers and control systems with personnel sitting behind them are in Aso Rock? You think it's 5k monthly sub that Aso Rock will be doing monthly?

How much does an average university spend on electricity and internet per month that N14.8 billion now sound like a big thing to Nigerians?

I've actually never seen a Yoruba (non politician) that was once a critic of Tinubu as the Governor that's supporting him now.

It is obvious Peter Obi's supporters support him purely base on tribalism.

There's also old opinions about Tinubu from people like FFK, can you also ask what changed, Peter Obi is still miles ahead of other candidates, this is a known fact
You can't compare the words of average Nigerians to that of politicians. The opinion of those people you saw there were unbiased and apolitical.

Words of politicians against politicians is nothing more than politics..

I'd hold those people words against Peter Obi more than Reno Omokri's.

Guy be calming down. I can see you're the one who jokes too much. was a pdp supporter that time. You shouldn't expect him to support Obi even if he was the best performing governor in Nigeria that time, same way you're supporting a controversial candidate like Tinubu and seeing him as the best among the rest. Of course, you can't say obi is good cos he's not your candidate. Today the guy changed his mind and supported Obi. Whatever he may have said 10 years ago is inconsequential today. Tinubu that you're supporting today once called Buhari names before they formed the apc, same as FFK, Dino et al.
Do you know Barr. Bwala, the man who was always praising buhari, he's now in the pdp. Can the same say anything good of buhari today? That's it.

After February, we shall see who's truly a lunatic when Obi is declared winner.
You got it all wrong. The difference between the Odogwu guy and the people you mentioned is that they're all politicians and the guy isn't.. Politicians are known to cover their flaws and hype the flaws of their opposition.

The Odogwu guy is not a politician. What he said was an unbiased, apolitical criticism of Peter Obi when he was a Governor. It is much better to1

I’m not really surprised at all. Deep down, most of the guys supporting Peter Obi knows that he failed woefully as governor of Anambra state. They are simply supporting him because they hate Tinubu and APC. In terms of performance, it’s insane to compare Peter Obi with Tinubu. It’s not even close at all. It’s like someone telling us in ten years time that Ikpeazu was a far better governor than Sanwoolu and Zulum.

Religion, tribalism and senseless hatred is what is fueling the support for Peter Obi. Good enough, those supporting him are in the minority. The vast majority of sensible people like us will ensure that Peter Obi never becomes the president of Nigeria.
There's something called the silent majority. On election day, we, the BATified majority, will show them.

Road transport workers in Lagos are controlled by Oluomo, a Tinubu foot soldier and the number 1 agbero in Lagos who controls all agberos in lagos. All markets in Lagos are controlled by Tinubus daughter. So when you are hailing the rallies, it seems as if these people are people without any previous affiliation.

Fani Kayode said worst things about Tinubu.
FFK is a politician. The difference is that most of what FFK said was political. The opposition will always magnify the bad of the ruling party. It's normal everywhere.

But this guy's opinion then was a true, unbiased, apolitical opinion. He portrayed Peter Obi as the worse Governor then. But today, he's selling him to Nigerians.

This is the same view of Anambrans on Nairaland as at when PO was Governor. Most comments by Anambrains then was on how Peter Obi is a failure. Even the ones that were supporting him then didn't had anything tangible to support him with.. Plenty of them were applauding Ventilated Pit Toilet as his achievement..

There is a trust deficit with this administration (like all the other failed administrations before it) and nobody should blame ordinary Nigerians for this.

Agreed...subsidy on fuel imports didn't start with the Buhari administration. But people are not blind. If this government actually did what it promised and cleaned up the public sector there would be two outcomes - cost savings that could actually be put to good use (like building new refineries or repairing old ones) AND people would actually trust government enough to act on their behalf. As it is now, the cost of the so called subsidy under this administration far exceeds the cost of several brand new refineries. Does that make any sense? undecided

This administration squandered the goodwill it had and will forever be remembered for coddling bandits, terrorists and other psychopaths. It will also be remembered for a jarring failure to act decisively on public sector corruption - the one thing that people believed Buhari would actually do. What has this government done about the Oronsaye report?

What a waste.
Where would the Government get the money to build/fix the refinery when money is being spent on subsidies.. Have you forgotten it's the subsidy that caused the refineries to die off in the first place? Money that was supposed to be used to service and build new refineries were being wasted on subsidies. That's what brought us to where we are today.

Nigeria is too broke to build a new refinery. Dangote's refinery is nearing $20 billion to complete. Nigeria with more responsibilities than Dangote cannot build a new refinery.
The old refineries need to be totally repaired (heard they're currently fixing the PH refinery).

If the senators want, let them push the subsidy removal to the end of the year, it wouldn't change much.

If Tinubu sees its inevitable to deregulate the petrol price, he'll first temporary reduce the subsidy and then, fully deregulate the price by the end of the year, preparing the populace for it. Tinubu has the grassroots appeal and also firmness to deal with protesters.

Obi would remove the subsidy and fully deregulate the price within a year. He has the grassroot goodwill to push it through. He can also be firm when he needs to.

Though Atiku promised to deregulate the price, he might have the greatest difficulty doing it. He lacks grassroot appeal and he is perceived as a fat cat. Nigerians would see it as a wicked measure by a man out of touch with the masses. He isn't an orator.

He might achieve a full deregulation but only after huge fiscally costly concessions.
Best analysis so far.
It's quite sad that two different person can do exactly the same thing for the same reason, but people will react to them differently.

For example is the railway to Maradi which Goodluck Jonathan wanted to do then. It didn't cause public outcry then. But for Buhari, everyone is against it.

Such is life

Are you sure you read the report. It has nothing to do with benefits to the senators.

They currently oppose Buhari ending subsidy at the end of his administration as he wants to in order to prevent the next president getting attacked by Nigerians from the hardship subsidy removal will cause.
If subsidy must be removed, it should be done towards the end of next year by the next administration.
Let subsidy the removed the very day the refinery (either Dangote's or the PH refinery) starts working..

And it would be better Buhari removes it. Since most Nigerians hate him, it is better to take the hate of subsidy removal with him. At least Nigerians will know it's Buhari that made fuel expensive and not the next Government.

Buhari's incompetence is the real issue here. He has dumped "all the hardwork" on the incoming government and will end his presidency with a populist finish. Sadly, the economy will pay a big price.

Do the masses know one reason why the Naira is now ₦740 and still falling is due to the enormous cost of maintaining this insane subsidy? A dropping Naira is a 'vote of no confidence' on the fiscal recklessness of this administration just like a tanking pound sterling says of the widening budget deficit in the UK.

Things shouldn't go on like this. The middle class is emigrating fast. I don't want to emigrate but I might be compelled to soon if things don't perk up. I find it nightmarish making online payments. The dropping Naira is a huge burden.

The fx controls of Buhari wrecked a simple business I was to have commenced last year. I just couldn't pay for the gig on Fiverr as Nigerian cards were now incompatible with PayPal. This was a business that would have generated me thousands of dollars monthly.

There's another I have partially started now but part of my worries is making overseas payments. I'll also need some extra capital. I'll might be going to Providus bank probably tomorrow as I was informed their debit cards have $1,500 or $5,000 monthly spend limits depending on which type you go for but use the black market rate.
Don't worry, Obi will come and remove restrictions on our imports and our forex will be put on more pressure which will cause the naira to "rise" again.

I'm a Christian but I don't like when a Christian comes to preach to me.. Especially if he or she is inviting me to his/her church.

Sometimes, when a preacher stops me and invite me to his Church, I tell them I'm a Muslim. Yet you'll see them say, "It doesn't matter, you can still come. We are all one"
Then I ask them if they've ever been to a mosque before. They say no."
How do you expect to convince a muslim to come to Church, when you've never been to a mosque before..
