PoliticsRe: Senate Steps Down Bill To Include Rotation Of Power In Constitution by Perfectbeing(m): 7:19pm On Sep 28, 2022
IfnobeGod20:
Mr. Man, your first submission was projecting different ethnic groups to counter regional presidential rotation and I did told you that even in appoint, no one consider ethnic colouration for appointment but only regional.

However, as I said earlier, you're myopic of the political maneuvering in the nation. The region with majority population will always have their way with the existing arrangement while the region with minority population will always try their luck at any point in time. Like for example, it will only take God's intervention for minority region to scale through the political maneuver of the majority region. Just as the present contestants taken advantage of their region to flex muscle against those with minority population. You hear them saying, the votes in a certain state will cancel all votes in a region and that is the truth because people don't vote on the line of competence but on religion, ethnic and sectional biases. This alone has caused disloyalty and regional friction among the different components in the nation.

Now, if I may ask you, it is not better to wait for some years than not to have any chance to lead your own country when you know you have the capacity? Are you telling me, the crop of the people contesting are the best in the country? They are not the best but many are afraid to come out because they would be schemed out by the political jobbers.

I do believe in such rotational arrangement, a maximum tenure will also be decided, which I presume could be 5 or 6 years. Which makes some sense.
You honestly don't have an idea of what you're saying.

Wait for some years than not have a chance?
The required age of being President is 35 years currently.
With regional rotation if I contest for Presidency and lose, I'll have to wait for 48 years again before the rotation will come back to my region. 48 years plus 35 is 83. Meaning I'll be 83 years before I can contest again. Tinubu is 70 years old and people are saying he's too old. Who then will vote for an 83 years old me?
Even with your maximum tenure of 6 years, it will still take a whooping 36 years before I can give the Presidency a shot again. 36+35 is 71.
In essence, regional rotation simply means everybody gets only one chance to be President.

About me not standing a chance at all if it's not by regional rotation, that's cow dung.
Who would have thought Goodluck Jonathan, an Ijaw man would win in 2011?
As long as you can play politics well, join a good party, anybody can be President.

That's much better than regional presidency where everyone just has only one chance to be President.

1. convinience to carry around
2. National pride
3. good and effective pricing system
4. re- introduction of coins
5. safety reasons
6. cheapers cost of printing
With too much pressure on our naira, any denomination was be wrong. When our refinery is working and our steel company starts working then redenomination won't be a bad idea. The economy first need to be stable.

The problem of some of you is that you always think about politics and not the wider aspect scope.
If Chapter 2 Section 14 sub-section 3 of the constitution of Nigeria can specifically talk of composition of Federal government or its agencies should be administer through federal character principle which in turn will promote National Unity and Command National Loyalty. Why do such federal character practice at MDAs levels of appointments but jettisoned when it comes to elective positions.
This your submission is mischievous because in appointive positions such is not considered but only region. Appointment is never on ethnic basis but on regional basis. Please what stops such to be practice on elective posts, if not the evil intention of exerting majority factors on the minority.
Clearly you're the one that's myopic and not looking at the wider scope.

Like I said before.. If I, an Edo guy, contest for presidency when it's the turn of the SS and I lose, you'd expect me to wait for a whooping 48 years before I can try my luck again? I should shelf my ambition for half a century because it's not yet the turn of SS?

Giving someone a one time shot in his life to be president doesn't look like fairness and equity to me.

I'm a fair believer of survival of the fittest. Power should be fought for not given.

Modified: As for federal character in appointments, that's a total different ball game. Positions by appointment are numerous and can accommodate lots of persons. But federal character on the Presidency can accommodate only one person. And if we go by region, that's one person per region in 48 years. That's rubbish to me.

The federal government if it is really federal has no business owning universities, as big as the united states' is, it has only one federal university.

All over the world universities are owned and sponsored by states and organizations, I don't know why Nigerian government lack wisdom, there has being perennial ASUU strike for more than thirty years now , only the handover of federal universities to states will solve this shameful perennial strikes.
Good. But I think the reason is that they're pitying us too much.
Right now university under FG hands is the cheapest you can obtain anywhere else in this country. If FG gives it to the states (which I'm fully in support of) the States (most of which are struggling with salaries and pension) would have to increase the tuition fees (which I'm also in support of). But how many shortsighted Nigerians would understand?
All we do is blame and blame and when we're tired of blaming we catch cruise with the problem..
Maybe people would say "see small Ghana of yesterday, their universities haven't been on strike for years.. But they don't know that Ghanians pay very high tuition fees for that to happen.

The Government pities us a lot. Let them increase school fees and let those that can't afford it drop out. After all, you don't need a degree to be made in today's world.

I remember when UNIBEN wanted to increase their school fees from 12k to 20k, students rioted. They blocked Ugbowo road. Same thing happened when UniAbuja increase school fees last year, students blocked the highway till soldiers chased them with tear gas.
This is the same students that compare Nigerian schools with Ghana universities. Some compare it Harvard o. Oya let's add 10k to una school fees, they say no.

I'm a preacher of "if you want something better, you gats pay higher than what you previously paid."

Whether the schools are taken over by States or remains with FG, if students want strike to end, dem gats pay more.

Local government autonomy, judiciary autonomy, live electronic transfer of votes directly to inec website. Kudos to him in these aspect. But all round, buhari is still the worst president we ever had!
The best President would sure be hated by a good percentage of people especially in a country like Nigeria. No president can change Nigeria without being hated.
The Israelite hated moses after he took them out of Egypt and made them wander in the desert for 40 long years.
Buhari have done the hardest part of Governance (1. lock the border till we become the highest producer of rice. 2. Increase the tax we pay and tax things we weren't paying tax on before. 3. Taking the highest loans to build infrastures we were yearning for before. 4. He will completely remove fuel subsidy before he leaves.
He took us out of Egypt (PDP) and took us to the wilderness (inflation, insecurity etc) where we began to say Egypt (1. cheaper fuel. 2. Cheaper electricity. 3. Low taxes. 4. Cheaper rice, fertilizer, beans etc), was much better. But soon Joshua (Tinubu) is coming and he will take us to the promise land. Buhari have done the hard part and will carry most of Nigeria's hatred on himself and Tinubu will continue from where he stopped.
PoliticsRe: Senate Steps Down Bill To Include Rotation Of Power In Constitution by Perfectbeing(m): 7:34pm On Sep 27, 2022
This is utter nonsense!!
Nigeria is not the Avatar universe where the Avatar cycle rotates among the 4 nations.

Why just the geopolitical zones? Why not rotation among the over 250 tribes in Nigeria? Since we're talking about unity and equity.
Let Hausa rule 8 years, Bini rule 8 years, Yoruba rule 8 years, Idoma rule 8 years, Tivs 8 years, Igbo 8 years... till all the 250+ tribes have ruled then the Hausa begins the cycle again.

So you mean an Igbo man should shelf his Presidential ambition because it's not the turn of the SE?
So if an Igbo man contest with his fellow Igbo when it's the SE turn and he lose, he'll have to put his ambition on hold for 48 years before he can try again? That's rubbish na.
Presidential election should be free for all. Let anyone who feels he can win, let him/her contest.

Do you know why 2023 election will be awesome? It will be the first election in the history of Nigeria where 4 contestants will get over a million votes. Ever since it's only two parties that gets over a million votes. This time APC, PDP, Labour and NNPP will get over a million votes. That's how an election should be.

Power should not be given on a platter of gold. Power should be wrestled for.

Thought you sabi economics. Buhari na him borrow pass in the history of Nigeria.
Secondly if school fees are increased, the common man that's still struggling to meet up with the present ll kuku withdraw his kids.
Only place wey make sense is the introduction and sustenance of courses relevant to the country and economy.
Yet my first summation is the first step in the right direction.
De-market politics. Reduce their earnings. From president to NASS to govs etc.
Anyone going there is going to work and not earn.
Yes na Buhari borrow pass. But if you look closely and carefully, you'll see what the loans are being used for. A president cannot just borrow loans. It would have to pass through the senate and the terms and condition have to be clear and precise.
So instead of being among the bandwagons, who when they hear loans, would start pissing their pants, do your research and see what the loan is being used for, the duration of when it will be completed, the terms and condition and how long it would take Government to pay back the loans.
There's no single loan that has been taken that is not being used on what it was meant for.

As for increment of school fees. People will still pay. Nigerians will definitely complain that school fees has been increased but at the end they'll pay. Let those that cannot pay go and find their lives outside of school. You don't need to go to school to be somebody in today's world.
All countries where their schools are topnotch pay heavily for it.
The ones that have standard schools with free or almost free schools have a very small population and their taxes are very high. So at the end they pay heavily for their education.
In America, 71% of Americans cannot go to college without loans, grants or scholarships from the Government. That tells you how expensive their education is.
Greenland, where school is free and Government sometimes pay people to go to school, have a population of 57k people. The population of 10 federal universities in Nigeria is already more than the population of the entire Greenland.
Their small population makes it easy for their Government to provide free education for them.
Even at that, the citizens of Greenland are taxed 44% of their income. So technically, they actually pay for their education.

Nigerians talk about how universities in Ghana are better and they don't go on strike but they fail to tell you that Ghanians public universities tuition fee is an average of 200k when converted to Naira. Whereas most of our federal schools pay less than 50k for school fees.

As for reducing the salaries of the senate, it is dead on arrival.. When you prepare a budget and you slash the senate salaries, shey it's the same senate that you will carry to budget to for approval? If they don't approve it what will you do? Arrest all of them? Better don't start what you cannot finish.

The best you can do is reduce the salaries of yourself, ministers and their appointees. That way Nigerians will understand you're trying your best to cut the cost of Governance. But when you're doing that have it in mind that they have to be paid well enough so they won't steal or people won't bribe them to work against you.
Just don't try and touch the salaries of senators cos they'll frustrate your papa.

On ending ASUU strike, increase the school fees, and provide ways that student from not so well to do homes can take loans.
To reduce the number of students that will take loans, you can make the loans only available for student pursuing professional courses like medicine and engineering. Courses that are really useful to the Nigerian society. And make it in such a way that only the bright students are eligible. Not everybody must go to school. Thank God we're already in an era when you don't need school to blow.

APC out classes PDP in terms of infrastructure . Rail , roads ,bridges plus improved power supply that happened recently.
With lesser oil revenue , pandemic and corruption APC still out do PDP . PDP really wasted 16 years of Nigerians.
APC deserves another 8 years so Nigerians can see the clearer picture .
On insecurity APC has failed just like PDP.

Majority of Nigerians are not enlightened they don’t even know if oil price fall it’ll affect the Naira as oil is the major source of revenue. All they’ll tell you is that naira is weaken .
When the national Grid collapsed yesterday people were happy , but as at last week when a thread was opened about improved power they said it’s because of election. And these people are so called Christians who go to church every Sunday but bad mouth their country and wish her bad .
The more you wish your country bad it’ll remain BAD.
The only thing I’m impressed about this present youth is that they’ve put politicians on their toes via social media.

I support Another 8yrs for APC They should focus on security, diversifying the economy, reconstruction and continue the momentum on infrastructure and power everything will be good its a gradual process .

We don’t want a Perceived angel Who Will Come and scatter everything. I like the continuation in progressive change in Lagos I need that in Nigeria .

If you know you can’t wait for the progressive change in Nigeria due to age factor you’re free to JAKPA , you can still contribute to the economy outside the shores of the country but the country is gradually moving if you look inward .
There’s know where in the world today that there’s no inflation , flood or a slight shift of improved standard of living . But you’ll see Nigerians always castigating but they can’t keep common traffic laws, and litter the drainages with dirts it’s a really big shame .

The only reason why advanced counties manage to cope is because of the progressive good governance they’ve had in the past that planed in contingencies like this . But Nigeria has been wrecked with bad leadership for over 30 years. It’s not rocket science that it’ll only take time to recover .

Nigeria can only be Grate with positive mindset from both government and the citizens.
The light issue thing tire me o.
The same people that used the collapse of the national grid to mock and criticize FG said the reason for the improved power was due to election. Some said it's cos of raining season. I began to wonder if it wasn't the same election period the grid collapsed in or this is the first time Nigeria has experienced raining season.
Some even said the reason for the strike is because FG were trying to keep students away from voting.
Everybody just dey spew conspiracy theories left right and center.

Let's hope they don't say this bridge was supposed to be higher for ships to pass under but Buhari made it low so that Benue wouldn't have a seaport.
