Iinteresting to see this topic being discussed. I tried to do same in January of this year but the thread was taken down for some reason I couldn't fathom. This prompted me to open another thread in the investment section, but not much happened there.

Up until about 3months ago,I would have also said Grenada would be the best option, for most of the reasons gforce already noted, the countries you can access (particularly China), as well as the e2 investor visa to the US you can take advantage of due to the treaty of commerce and navigation with the US that Grenada is a part of.

Currently in talks with a market leader in that investment immigration space, although my own focus is majorly on investing outside Nigeria, as they offer that too. Based on my interactions with them, I would advise anyone looking to go this route to consider a cheaper option that is not on your list, which would be the Canada FSUP - $177k

The only downside is unlike Grenada it won't give you citizenship immediately, but you get permanent residency immediately, and in 3 years you get the citizenship. So in my books, still same end.

Pros
* You immediately become a part of the board of an already vetted and approved start-up. The invested sum above buys you a 10% ownership stake and a seat on the board.
* It is cheaper than the other options and will result in citizenship 3 years post-entry
* Canada also is a member country of the treaty of commerce and navigation with the US,meaning you can also use the E2 investor visa like Grenada
* Canada has a lot of other available visa routes into the US, available to its citizens

Cons
* You dont get the citizenship immediately. You have to wait the 3 years, like other PRs (permanent residents)
* Canadian passport not visa free to China.

Number 1:

That visa is not a suitable Visa.

It will turn you into an illegal migrant and may further complicate your life.

Number 2:

The devil you know is better than the angel you don't know....

You have confirmed that your business is promising but only requires more injection of capital to stabilise it...that's a plus

while the option of travelling abroad with all its uncertainties awaiting you, at the expense of your business & family is very risky.


Number 3:

You didn't mention any buffer for your family while you are away that can keep them going, pending when things start working well for you.
If there is no buffer, another bigger complication on your family existence and yourself psychologically.


Number 4:

Finally, trash the idea of travelling abroad and abandoning the business & family you have suffered to nurture. It is a wrong timing.

My advice is DO NOT take that step rather reinvest that money into your business which you are sure of recouping gains or profits as usual.


Allow your business to grow more, and if you still desire to relocate abroad, save up gradually towards it and move with your family (with the right visa: work visa or digital Norma's visa or study visa ) NEVER consider the Tourist visa. It's only for enjoyment and returning home after the enjoyment.



That Tourist visa on your passport is good. It gives your passport more value. Let it expire. Nothing spoil.

With the recent exchange rate, you should be earning over 1m Naira monthly and have very reasonable savings from there as well.


Think about it.


Lest I forget, investing such money in Nigeria is like parking your car in a bank premises, only for you to raise your head and see a sign that says " vehicles parked at owner's risk"

What you need to do as an educated person is to ask for evidence, debunk the evidence through another evidence or agree that those universities in the UK, US, Australia etc that accept HND to master's program are not standard or don't know what they are doing.

You can even add that WES Canada do not know what they are doing for them to assess HND as equivalent of Canadian PostGrad Cert.

You can even say Canadian colleges and universities are not standard for accepting HND to at least Post Grad studies where no two year post secondary diploma is acceptable.

Evidence

1. HND is assessed to be equivalent to PostGrad Cert by WES Canada (You will ask for evidence)

2. People have secured admission to master's degree in Canada using HND (Distinction)-- You will ask for the evidence.

3. Someone has secured admission to a PhD program directly in the US. Please ask for evidence.

4. People have secured master's degree admission with HND in Nigeria, the UK, the US, Benin, Togo etc. Please work with data and ask for evidence.

5. HND is not regarded as a 2 year diploma-- I will show you evidence. HND is acceptable for PostGrad Diploma and PostGrad Cert admissions in Canada where no 2 year post secondary diploma is acceptable. I have provided you reason, I challenge you to ask for evidence.

I challenge you to come out and provide evidence and do not just issue words of mouth.
