lol....when i said jonathan was a learner in politics people thought i was typing rubbish.when i said this amaechi issue would blow up in his face, many people here were screaming federal might.i laugh in ijaw.if he was wise he would have doused the flames while they were burning the candle stand and not now the whole house is ablaze.and as for that useless minister of state for education and mr 'go round', hope they can find their running shoes because they will be sacrificial lambs for peace to reign in PDP..and make no mistakes about it,the PDP will make peace!

Excelboi: It has to be the nose cos without it you wont even live to use your eyes as you wont be able to breath. It has to be btw the eyes and the nose.
the sense of smell and your ability to breathe are two different functions of your NOSE. the topic refers to your sense of smell and not ability to breathe.in other words if your sense of smell dissappears, you will still be able to breathe but you cant smell things anymore or recognise scents like the aroma of soup or the scent of flowers

Laalamed: and why should not a cleaner, mortuary attendants, chew, lab technician, pharmacy technicians ,pharmacists, doctors, mls, nurses and so on with same year of working experience get the same salary. i think in health sectors all workers should be called appointed as consultants after 5years work experience viz consultant physcians, consultant pharmacists, consultant cleaner, consultant hospital maid, consultant mls, consultant secretary, consultant nurse, consultant anatomist, consultant morticians, consultant health instructor, consultant engineer. all should get the same starting salaries and post of head of department and cmd should be on rotation by balloting.there is need for equality.

Joanna Sedley: Crying blood here while agric professors and professors of medicine are earning the same salary in the universities.
Most utterances of the debaters here is really nothing to write home about. Talk about deficiency in knowledge of training, job description of other professionals.
so kini big deal.....thats a diffferent kettle of fish.you are talking about the academia and all professors on the same grade level earn the same thing

phnibeogu: Ok, let me sound nicer.. no more insults.. but u shouldnt think its a doctors right to administrate.. and the real issue is not to put nurses or whosoever.. its to correct the fact that doctors cant do it well ... and be replaced by health administrators... simple.. theres no strike for the nurses to lead.. rather for doctors to go down
my brother i agree with you.i am in UPTH.our CMD is a chemical pathologist(a doctor) but he s not done well.
so yes i agree the hospital should be run by a seasoned administrator regardless of profession.
But what i am against is where a 'consultant'radiographer wakes up tomorrow and says he must earn the same as a consultant surgeon.na there wahala go dey.... grin ;Dbecause its just plain ridiculous

BY THE WAY FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW.... the basic medical degree is MBBS. what does it stand for? bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery......2 BACHELORS DEGREES.....TECHNICALLY ITS EQUIVALENT TO A PHD on its own....thats why we are called DOCTORS for those who dont know.
yes medicine is a 6 year course but this issue is not about the number of years you ve spent but ON THE TYPE OF KNOWLEDGE you gather.simple
the 2nd MB exam alone is on 3 independent courses....anatomy,physiology and biochemistry which are independent 5 yr courses on their own.we are expected to study all 3 in 18-24 months.its not a crash program.we actually study all 3 courses in that time period.whyhuh?because medicine gathers the best.people who cant pass these exams after repeated attempts are convinced to join other paramedical courses like radiography and physiotherapy EXCEPT PHARMACY that also requires really bright students to scale through.
when a doctor graduates he has a choice to SPECIALIZE IN DIFFERENT FIELDS IN a training process called RESIDENCY
.this entails spending another 5-6 years in a particular specialty.THAT IS WHY WHEN A DOCTOR FINISHES THE RESIDENCY TRAINING,HE BECOMES A CONSULTANT(OR GO-TO GUY) IN THAT PARTICULAR FIELD HE CHOSE.MEDICINE IS WIDE,SO DOCTORS SPECIALIS IN A CERTAIN ASPECT.its only abroad...i think in the us ,uk and australia where nurses also specialize BUT ITS NOTHING LIKE WHAT THE DOCTORS DO.SO IN TOTAL A DOCTOR HAS SPENT ABOUT 12 YEARS TO ATTAIN CONSULTANCY.
SO PLEASE EVERY RIGHT THINKING PERSON SHOULD CRITICALLY ANALYSE THIS SITUATION AND TELL ME WHY A LAB SCIENTIST OR RADIOGRAPHER OR NURSE SHOULD BE CALLED A CONSULTANT? what specialsied training have they undergone to be rightfully called thathuh?
Health › Re: Health Workers Call Off Strike by phantom(m): 1:34pm On Aug 28, 2013
phnibeogu: Even the doctors in this our country are almost illiterates... well let me explain.. even if u are a consultant.. without management training or experience.. u should not be in administration...if a doctor is a certified administrator or manager, then good, he could, but otherwise... hey docs should leave the job of managment to professionals.. or does this daft dude who wrote this think its obtainable elsewhere in the world or u think nigeria is just a doctors world?
i agree completely with you.the pharmacists and nurses who also want to head hospitals, what hospital management training do they have?
yes administration should be left to any body with HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT TRAINING.
**BY THE WAY TAKE IT EASY WITH THE INSULTS**

Babalegba: . Apes display more empathy than many Nigerian doctors. I was abroad for over twenty years so I know how doctors are supposed to behave. Since I came back I have seen doctors embark on a particularly horrific strike that led to the death of many hapless poor nigerians . The strike was over pay and I was horrified, it led me to ponder if nigerians have not been misclassified as homo sapiens. You can call me any name you like but I assure you that many nigerian doctors will have their rewards on earth.
interesting you saw how they behave but conveniently forgot to ask how much they were being paid.... grin grin grin grin
if i tell you what the doctor earns in the US,you will stroke out... grin grin
those arer serious countries who know what they have.ideally should you hear the doctors agitate?we only agitate in this country because it is a failed state.
you want me to earn 200000 naira and not complain.a salary that some people spend on their dogs every month.

QEFRAN6: Hmmmmm! It baffles me somuch wen dese physicians brag abt them being d all in all were as they r nothg if u take a close look at them, esp the new ones in the system today...u all knw that u cannot and will never be able to operate alone without the help of other health profefesionals...all u guys do is assumption and without the med.lab sct who corrects and put u on the right tract thro a test, and the pharmacist too corrects the nonsense u scrible down in the name of prescription, while the nurses takes absolute care of the patients in the wards...only God knws how many ppl ul b killing per day.All u guys do in the hospital as far as I'm concern is pen down the patients data and history of which any secretary can do that perfectly...why on earth do u want to be were u shdnt?...its time u guys get another parking lott as uv occupied other ppls space for so long and the owners are back and ready to occupy their space...if u guys can operate alone, why on earth did u discharge patients from the wards and refuse admitting new ones while the other health workers went on strikehuh...y can't u guys accept the truth for once?
idiotic post....you failed out of medicine and ended up in med lab science and you now want to eat the same salary with doctors.you want to be consultants so that you and the consultant doctor go dey argue over patients.....olodo.....lol.go back to school and pass 2nd MB if to answer doctor dey sweet you.clown!

Pukkah: Your comment is fair.

Why would VOP, who is basically disgruntled about Jonathan running, agree to work with PDP that's fielding Jonathan? I don't see this as likely.
my brother,i agree but remember this is politics!no permanent enemy,no permanent friends.as it is the VOP will make no headway in 2015.if they think so then they are fools!this move is not about the ambition of any of the 7 governors, but it puts them in a positon to do some heavy bargaining.
Politics › Re: Amaechi, Others Float New Party by phantom(m): 12:09pm On Aug 26, 2013
looking at it critically, yes the formation of VOP is for purely selfish interests. But forming a new party and not entering APC was or is a masterstroke if you ask me.lets face it,the VOP will be the 'beautiful bride' that the apc and pdp will try to court But as it is now,the PDP will still carry the day in 2015,but the mere thought of the VOP eventually joining the APC will give them sleepless nights.2015 can go either way ....to the apc or the pdp depending on how each play the game.
the issue of dividing northern votes is possible but if the APC makes the vop an offer they cant refuse,PDP is sunk!
on the flip side,if this whole thing is just a PDP gimmick(which i strongly suspect is) APC will be the loser.
ITS ALL DEPENDS ON HOW EACH SIDE PLAYS IT,but lets face it,PDP is not in a comfortable position at all!
Politics › Re: What Was Olikoye Ransome-kuti Thinking? by phantom(m): 1:34am On Aug 26, 2013
in the labs its the same story.a lab scientist will detect abnormalities in blood or urine or other body fluids.but they have absolutely no skill when it comes to tying up their findings or result.a doctor knows that if chemicals A B and C are seen in blood for example it means a particular disease but if its just A and B, the diagnosis changes to something else.if A disappears after sometime and just B and C the diagnosis changes yet again.the lab scientist cannot do this analysis.all he does is report if either A, B or C is present.he cant tie their presence or absence to any particular diagnosis.the buck now stops at the table of the pathologist (doctor)to say what is wrong with the patient.so you can all see that the paramedicals all have an ancillary or accessory role in patient care.if the patient dies its the doctors that hold mortality meetings to find out where things went wrong.the doctor has the final say! Why is it so hard for these people to accept it? Why? Let them not start what they cant finish.
Politics › Re: What Was Olikoye Ransome-kuti Thinking? by phantom(m): 1:21am On Aug 26, 2013
likewise a pharmacist CANNOT diagnose.as a doctor i diagnose and prescribe drugs.all the pharmacist does is to DISPENSE the drugs.nothing else! Dont let them deceive you.once in a while they suggest one drug in place of the other cos of side effects.shikena! Dont let them tell you otherwise and dont mind those of them who run pharmacies and treat patients at the same time.it is illegal! It happens because this country is a failed state. No regulations! When they mess things up they then refer the patient to the hospital after the patient has parted with a huge sum and is almost at the point of death
Politics › Re: What Was Olikoye Ransome-kuti Thinking? by phantom(m): 1:15am On Aug 26, 2013
una go strike tire.let nobody be deceived.the buck stops at the table of a doctor.i am a radiologist.at my training institution, radiographers operate the machines- xray, ctscan and mri except ultrasound which the doctor mans.now the images gotten from these machines are INTERPRETED by US the doctors(radiologists) .we make the final diagnoses.in other words we are the ones who say what is wrong with the patients.if we were absent, films and results would just lie there without interpretation, whereas without the radiographers we would just spend a short while to learn how to use the other equipments and carry out our studies.a radiographer CANNOT analyse results.to do that you need to have gone to a medical school and acquired the underlying pathology in disease processes.it is the same thing in other departments.

if you want to answer 'doctor' feel free.if you like amass hundred D.pharm degrees, you will NEVER be a medical doctor.the only thing that will happen is that nigerians will ask if you are a medical doctor or a doctor of pharmacy.stop fooling yourself.this whole thing is happening because we live in a failed country with no regulations but rest assured, WATER WILL FIND ITS LEVEL.

onomeasike: These are kindergarten doctors,I pray God will not lead us to this kind of dimwits parading themselves as doctors who think they know all(amen)It's only a faulty education system that will make a person feel studying medicine is a status symbol and not because of willingness to serve. These lot would rather have appointment as chief this and that than actually practicing medicine because that's not their priority. They think foolishly assume they know the course content of other courses when they don't. Medicine that you have 3 attempts to seat for mbbs ppre-clinal exams and have multiple chances for a re-seat in clinical years whereas somebody in pharmacy with a minimum of 2nd class lower cgpa for two consecutive sessions is immediately kicked out regardless of what level the person is .You are ignorant people and you face the reality, your assumed superiority only exist in the imagination of poorly trained doctors . The end to the reign of ignoramuses in hospital administration is come to end.leave with it or go and study hospital administration as a course.quack administrators!
what the pharmacist learnt in five years is what a doctor studies in one course- pharmacology.if you want to be respected as a doctor please go and study medicine.you guys are a funny lot! All the paramedicals were trained by doctors to make the doctors job easier.it was a doctor who trained radiographers and made radiography a course.until recently it was a diploma course.now they feel they can rub shoulders.the average doctor is humble, but since these people want war, they will get it.you cant match the doctor and you know it.that is why you rope other people in to join your strikes because each of your associations cannot carry out a successful strike.even cleaners are part of JOHESU.you want to be consultants.where does it happen.where? Its only in nigeria that you find such stupi.d things.you are on strike yet UPTH was busy as h.ell yesterday.why? Because those who matter were at their duty posts.clowns!

A nurse will always be a nurse, ditto a pharmacist, optometrist, lab technologist and xray what ever.

If it so pains you, go and buy jamb form and try studying medicine.

Our problem in Nigerian is greed with acute coveteousness.
you dey mind the idio.ts? They want to cut corners and still earn the same salary with a doctor.let them go ahead and fool themselves.whatever they are negotiating with the fed gov should be favourable to the doctors otherwise the doctors will single handedly collapse the health care system
