There is tension in Kogi State over alleged plot by members of Boko Haram to bomb the popular Jamata/Murtala bridge linking the northern and southern parts of the country even as the State Security Service (SSS) said it has arrested 100 suspects in over six states.



The development came less than 24 hours after police foiled another plot by the Islamic fundamentalists to bomb the headquarters of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), located at Central Business District, Garki, Abuja.




The same group of fundamentalists attacked the Nigeria Police headquarters, Louis Edet House, Abuja on June 16. The sect was said to have sent text messages to some security outfits in Kogi, warning them of their imminent incursion into the state.

A source confided in Daily Sun that Itobe Bridge, which links Eastern part of the country to Kogi State was also a target to be bombed by the sect.
Due to this threat, the source hinted that eagle-eyed operatives have been ordered to mount a 24-hour surveillance in and around the two bridges and to patrol the Rivers Niger and Benue by boats.

How is things falling apart or you did not see the reasons that mourinho is putting forward because of the change. There is no present crisis in the madrid team to warrant the change but the need to have a captain that would stand for the team and not be restricted in the goal post. Spanish referees like talking to the captains only and how would casilas always run from his goal post to settle every dispute?.

Casilas will still be the team leader, in and off the pitch with even more greater role to play like negotiating bonuses. No one is downplaying the possibility of a crisis out of it but everything is moving in the right order. Mou will discuss with casilas, the team as a whole and the club management before any changes will be made.

The fans already selected alonso as the captain with about 75 percent vote, so the change is welcomed and i don't think casilas will mind that much. He can always take the arm band whenever real wins a trophy and he still has the Spanish national team to captain which is not a bad deal.

Seems you want to go the insult and name calling way which is not my style okay, this is not about gej but about Nigeria and no where have i proclaimed to you that am a goodluck apologist.

The constitution with the whole ministerial process is flawed and that is my bone of contention, so you guys should stop seeing every problem from the point of view of goodluck and pdp. It is state governments that nominates ministers so it is not entirely about pdp or pdp governors.

The president does not have absolute freedom to select and appoint ministers because of the provision stated in the constitution and the federal character principle. Like Zno already stated, the practice of nomination coming from the state governments has been on since the time of shagari so there is nothing wrong in goodluck following the same process.

What is wrong is that the constitution does not give the state governments, state governors or any political party the right to nominate ministers to the president for the federal republic of Nigeria. The president is the sole and only entity empowered by the constitution to nominate ministers to be approved by the national assembly. The only check is that there should be atleast one minister from each state of the federation and they must be eligible and electable to state house of assemblies.

We are presently practicing a wrong system that can be traced to the time of shagari so the blame should be wide spread and not be placed solely on gej simple.

Solve that problem and you would have solved 80 percent of this so called problems of incompetent people as ministers but no one is tackling that problem because it is now fashionable to blame good-luck for every damn problem in Nigeria.

We will never tackle our problems from the roots but keep putting blame in the wrong direction. The society should direct its anger to the states that sent those nominees. The system whereby states has to choose nominees for the presidents to include in his cabinet is flawed in my opinion and that should be addressed.
