Seun, why not make Nairaland more social? The ability to create groups, blogs, send and receive private messages should be able to increase engagement and traffic. And you might even increase your revenue by basing the new features on a subscription model.

Don't shed your tears for someone who hurt you. Don't long for that person that left you. Don't feel sorry if your best was not enough to please them.

A great relationship happens when two people who truly understand each other and love each other for who they are come together and create something stronger than either of then could ever be on their own.

Politics / Goodluck Jonathan On International Social Security Association Award by Phate07(m): 10:36am On Dec 08, 2011

I am gratified at the news that the International Social Security Association (ISSA) has recognized and awarded Nigeria for the best intervention in reducing Infant and Maternal Mortality in Africa. This is an acknowledgement of the deliberate efforts by government to invest resources in sectors that enhance the Human Development of Nigerians and was also recently validated by the United Nations Development Programme’s 2011 Human Development Index report which also established that in 2011 Nigeria made the most progress ever in growing the Life Expectancy of her citizens from 47.56 years to 51.9 years which represents a 10% increase in the life span of the average Nigerian. Why should a mother die during childbirth if we can help it? Why should an innocent child coming into this world die for no fault of his/hers? It is easy to take these steps of progress for granted, but we should remember that health is wealth and I personally believe that the transformation agenda should include intangibles like improved healthcare in addition to tangibles like improved infrastructure which we are also working on. Politics / Lecturers Cripple Universities, Begin Indefinite Strike by Phate07(m): 4:25am On Dec 05, 2011
Why is this country's tertiary institutions always going on strike? Lecturers cripple universities, begin indefinite strike

BY JIMITOTA ONOYUME
PORT HARCOURT:  UNIVERSITY lecturers across the country begin an indefinite strike from today.
National President of the Academic Staff  Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Ukachukwu Awuzie who made this known Sunday  in Port Harcourt  said this time the strike would be” total and comprehensive”.

According to him, there would be no grading and marking of scripts during the duration of the strike action.

He explained that their decision stemmed from what he described the refusal of the federal government to implement the core components of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement.

According to him with the failure of federal government to address the issues even when ASUU granted it a two months grace period it had become clear that the government was not willing to honor the agreement.

Describing the decision to embark on the indefinite strike as very painful Prof Awuzie who was flanked by other members of his executive said the union would alien with allied unions in the country to resist the proposed removal of fuel subsidy by the government.

“NEC, having noted that the federal government neglected, ignored, failed and refused to implement the core components of the 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement after more than two years of its signing, having squandered two months it requested without achieving any progress in the implementation of the agreement, having sacked the Implementation Monitoring Committee that served as the forum for dialogue with ASUU on this dispute, is convinced that the government is terribly insincere and is manifestly unwilling to genuinely implement the agreement it freely entered into with ASSU.

Remembering Gbenjo Ebenezer Ayotunde and other victims of april election crises
Somewhere in Aso villa:
Jonny is popping the champagne. It is now obvious that he has won the elections for President. He is making plans now for his inauguration party that will cost 1.6bn. He has arrived. No expense will be spared to show it.

Somewhere in the streets of Bauchi:
Gbenjo Ebenezer Ayotunde was running for his life. Angry opposition supporters want him dead, and they have sticks, stones and poisoned knives to prove it. He runs to the nearest police station at Giade. Thank God! Now they're safe. But they are not because the policemen have abandoned them at the police station! Harmless Ayotunde and his colleagues were battered and burnt right inside the station.

Somewhere in Aso villa:
Jonny and friends are still celebrating! Patience is trying to find the gown that will show her features best.

Gbenjo Ebenezer Ayotunde was a youth corper from Osun serving his fatherland in Bauchi. He was earning less than $2 a day, meaning below the poverty line. All he wanted was to serve and go home. All he asked is for his goverment to protect him. Gbenjo Ebenezer
Ayotunde will not be forgotten.
