giselle237: not true What makes it not true? I may decide to write my fist, second and surname name on a particular document and decides to write only my first name and surname on the other document and it'll still be acceptable unlike if I have my first, second and surname but my date of birth is different say maybe I wrote 1990 instead of 1980 and it won'tbe acceptable. So what makes it not true? |

The above scenerio, what are my chances of getting my passport renewed at Abuja House in London, given that my middle name does not appear on my NIN, my surname and first name matches though. Thanks. Your date of birth is more important than your second name. As long as your date of birth matches, I don't think there should be any issues |

I believe that for some time now, Money Market Fund (MMF) has outperformed Federal Government Bond. About 10 to 18% AER is offered by MMF, and profits are paid out either monthly or quarterly. The lowest interest rate I've sedn recently is 11%, despite the fact that it varies. Check out Axamansard, Stanbic First Bank, and other institutions. Each one provides MMF. |

I have indeed gotten goodies from AMEX Card. I keep saving offers I may need. I use it for shopping, groceries, etc.
I still think the biggest source of points are referrals from Nairaland though. The post I made about how to use Credit Cards without paying interest and the benefits was quite popular. So I added my link later.
I seem to have been upgraded or it's general: My referrals now get 8,000 points while I get 6,000 so feel free to sign up, you might just get a free flight soon:

Akhat: I need advice please. I got an internship role in Development Engineering, to assist my employer with research on an ongoing project. My school will be the one paying my salary. The Job is for two and half months(10 weeks). The issue is that, I currently work in a care home(two nights per week). Doing the two jobs will make me exceed the 20hrs work restriction. I don't want to decline the internship role because I believe it will be good on my CV, but it's just for two and half months, neither can I quit the care job just for a short term job. God knows I need both salary. The pay on the internship is 1£ pound higher. And I have also been looking for an opening that will take me out care job. Please how do I approach this, because I am expected to resume the internship role next week. You should be entitled to annual leave. Like someone has suggested, tell your manager you need to travel for an urgent issue, then ask if you could apply for your annual leave |

Peerielass: He is correct - you won’t qualify for the switching bonus because they belong to the same group. Same as HSBC and First Direct Fingers crossed 🤞. When I switch to first direct I was asked if I have HSBC account because if I've benefited from HSBC I won't qualify for first direct switch bonus. But for rbs such question wasn't asked. Although I have the feeling that I may not qualify for the bonus, but still I have hope |

Peerielass: I wouldn’t switch Starling if I were you. It’s one of the best challenger bank accounts to have. I find their debit card very useful for holiday travel and for online shopping abroad. No fees nor commission charged on withdrawals/foreign transactions and you get a guaranteed Mastercard exchange rate at time of transaction. You can switch and reopen another one but itll impact your credit score negatively |

Looking to switch my starling Not true. It'll only impact your credit score negatively. I don collect natwest and first direct and I'm waiting for RBS to pay me next week but I've lost about 40 points on my scredit score so far and I'm sure I'll still loose about 20 more but no shaking because I know it'll bounce back |

Phil46: Hey guys, kindly advise on this situation. A friend that works as a Domiciliary carer with a care company was supposed to put a client to bed but the client refused all her effort and persuasion, the client also refused her putting the light on. After some hours, the carer got a call that the client fell, was taken to the hospital and she got some injuries (broken bones).... Now the carer is being disciplined for not notifying the office when the client declined going to bed. I will like to know if any legal action will be taken against the carer by Care quality commission. Should she be worried because she is really bothered. I don't think CQC will do anything to her because you can't force a resident to go to bed, but the only mistake she made was that she ought to have notified her shift leader |

CheesyTee: Download app (either RBS or NatWest), open account, then apply to switch your old account to them. Deposit £1250 into the account. You get credited with £200 within 7 days
Same process for First Direct. The only difference is you pay £1,000 within 60 days of opening account. You get £175 in 28 days...
Yeah, it affected my credit score, lost about 10 points but my credit score has gone back up and it's now higher than before (due to other factors like low credit utilisation, on-time payment, etc) Can I switch to natwest this week and then close the natwest account and switch it to first direct next week |

hustla: Leave long story
Enter Udemy and start from Comptia A+, then network +... Then ccna.. That's the foundation..
By the time you learn those basics, you'll know where to head to next
I know about ITIL, CCNA, A+, N+, and S+. Additionally, I am aware that my first certification should be A+, CCNA, or ITIL, after which I can select either N+ or S+ if I want to specialise in networking or security. I also know that I should learn Excel, SQL, Python, R, etc. if I want to pursue data analysis. But my concern is that if I start studying for an A+, I won't realise that data analysis would have been a better course of study. I just need a guide from the tech guru in the house, since I think I'll do fine in any of those fields. |

semmyk: Talking of changing career, what field are you coming from or what experience(s) do you have. One thing about Cybersec which is equally more applicable to data analytics is that you can make use of data analytics within other fields (including Cybersec). Some of the gurus in Cybersec make use of their previous background within Cybersec: take for instance AML or Privacy PS: Cybersec is a wide field in itself. Data analytics is largely horizontal cutting across many domains, although (along with data science) it's having its own vertical. Thank you for your response. I have 0 experience about data analysis and cyber security but I wish to pursue a career in IT and I want to start from scratch. I don't mind if it'll take me a year or two to learn and secure a job that'll come with tier2. I just need a guide to know which area I should focus my learning on before starting |

hustla: I have a feeling Nigerians will totally cast that Healthcare CoS within 3 years. It'll surely cast or the loopholes will be corrected (but it's not only Nigerian that does it)
It's not even supposed to be paid for Yes so I wonder why people are paying through their noses for it to the point of 5M or even 12M.
12M just to spend 5 years changing diapers is madness no matter how anyone paints it I don't think it's "madness" to secure your "future" and your generation. A good example is what's going on in Sudan, with your foreign passport you'll be sure of your safety out of the country at least to a large extent than having the 12M in your bank during the time of war

semmyk: What you've listed are actually broad. In the true sense, - web dev has so many sides to it: back end, front end, full stack, UX, ven DevOps and on and on it goes. - Project mgt self gets technical, kukumba come branch reach agile, so they e dey waka go program mgt. - Cybersec, na e worse pass. I no say I wrote sometimes last year on this thread about it. CTI (cyber threats intelligence), analytics, blue team, red team, (at least lasgidi dey try), risk assessment, process and mgt side of cybersec (your ISO 2700x sec mgt and certifications), your governance and compliance. Oh, there's still Privacy (which fit randa on its own on one k leg) ... All three are increasingly integrating with other areas: legal, big data analytics, AI... I want to start a new career in IT, but I'm not sure which field to go into between data analysis and cyber security. Which one would you recommend for someone looking to change career and might also be easy to secure sponsorship. |
