Abini2012: Yes, it's taking care of old people generally speaking, but there are different types of care homes that cater to people with different needs, especially medical needs. They are people with dementia, mental, restrictive movement, rehabilitation, too many to mention. Some homes have different wings or floors to cater to this different needs. Some residents needs carers to do one to one with them. Some of your clients you go to their houses to help cater for them in terms of cleaning, shopping or running other errands.
I've done one to one with one man with dementia who won't sit down for more than 1 minute. He is always on his feet, moving round the whole home. You have to be with him through out because he can hurt himself or fall down. He kept me on my feet from 8am to 8pm! Where he gets the strength from only God knows It can be very challenging( some care homes and their staff will make your shift hell) but I try to put on a positive mindset when leaving the house, but also rewarding in a way. I've met a former MI6 operative! She rose to the rank of a Director before retirement. Regale me with tales of her operations all through the night! Expo: Night shift! Less stressful, you can have rest in between checks and time tends to run fast at night I think I'm kind of scare of the care job. I read somewhere where a guy said the place he was posted to on his first day was a man that has a kind of contacgeios disease but his team doesn't reveal it to him until he later find out himself. I think I prefer your type of care job than being care for an old people |

You didn't quote me & I won't quote u either. But please stop misleading people because the 13m is not for Visa application, it's only maintenance deposit |
Travel › Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Phayie(m): 5:07am On Jul 28, 2019 |
fatima04: Why not ask her employer to get a COS that provides maintenance for the whole family. It makes it easier and you can all apply together with the 4.5m (cost for family of 5) you have. If you apply separately you have to source for maintenance fund which must be in your account for a certain period of time before you can apply and thus keeping you further apart.
In my own honest opinion, applying together is ALWAYS the best way to go for now and future applications.
N.B:most employers are usually willing to do this because they know las las na your salary go suffer am if you claim money. Thank you for taking your time to respond. The Visa is tier 4 (student visa) and not tier 2. We have about N9m which can only cover 3 applicants, but if we all want to apply, we'll need about N12.5. That's why we are looking at the possibility of the main applicant to apply first using N4.5 then transfer the money into another account with the remaining 4.5 to make total of 9m for another 28 days before the dependants will apply |

Now you are coming out clean about the whole issue of applying separately but this is the issue..
If the money will be coming out from the same account then chances are that you going to face a lot of scrutiny from the embassy.
Unless you want to allow your wife to travel, pay her fees, get accommodation then you people can apply for join her. The fees will be paid completely and our plan is to stay with my brother who is a British citizen and has a 4 bedroom duplex. Do you think it's a good plan? Or we should work towards applying together? Thanks so much for your time |

I’m submitting two bank statements for my Tier 4 visa and while one is a Naira account, the other is a dollar account. The balances in both accounts amounts are equal to the total money I need for maintenance and for the balance of my fee.
Do you guys think this may lead to the a turn down of my application? Kindly help with any useful information/insight as I will have to apply in a few days. Thanks a lot. If both account is in your name and you've done the conversion correctly. I don't think you should have any problem |

justwise: So why not wait and make the application together? I have read here people doing the same thing but i still don't see the sense in it.
If your wife will be traveling together with the kids then they should apply together and not one after the other. Boss I'm not sure I understand what you mean. But let me try to explain again. If we want to apply together we'll need about N13m but if she apply first with about N4.5m then after she successfully secure the Visa, myself and the 2kids will use about N8.5m to apply. So we're llooking at managing 9m for the application instead of about N13m |

I think this whole issue is kind of confusing to me. My wife want to apply for tier 4 by October against Jan with 3 dependants. Our plan is that she should apply first then the dependants can apply after her Visa has been granted. My question is, when filling the application will she say yes or no that she'll be coming with dependants? If she says yes, will she include the maintenance fee for the dependants in her statement or only her maintenance? Please I need clarification. Thank you |

elijah101: this is intended for those that want to listen ... the shady immigration guys have decided to frustrate Nigerians into thinking that its hard to get the Nigerian Passport .... of which .. its is very easy .. its the most easiest thing to thing .. the issue with us is that we want fast thing ... It will not take you more than 1week ... there is nothing like pay today get today .. like it is used to be back in the day .. and there is nothing any officer anywhere can do for you .. if you pay anybody you are on your own ... since its there own way of making money .. they have to do everything possible to make us think its hard ... typical example .. you want to do an affidavit ... go to a cafe ... get them to do the typing for you .. go to any high court close to you ... its just 250Naira to get it signed and sealed .. and it will not take you more than 20mins to get it done .. but No .. a sane Nigerian will get to the high court gate and still be looking for fast job .. why cant you go in and ask them at the desk how it is done and get it done .. why must it be somebody outside .. Nigeria is moving away from man no man gradually .. i am actually starting to believe in this whole change of a thing ... Look at the Driver's license now ... there is nothing like pay and get it today .. you have to go through the normal process .. but some sane people will still go to road safety and be looking for same day something .... why can't we just follow the normal process ..... queue up .. una go wan jump queue dey form man no man .... Thank you for this. Please I want to do passport for my kid Should I choose standard or enhance e-passport

Principal is applying for tier 2, she is not going with her husband now, he would come later. But she ticked that he would be traveling with her so that should could add his passport number to her application. He would apply in about 3 months time.
Would this affect the application in any way? Or should she tick no? I feel it was just a question |

claremont: Inasmuch as I'm a Labour Party member through and through, I'm starting to like the positivity of Boris Johnson. Let's get this Brexit thing done with once and for all, and focus on the major issues the country is grappling with. If Boris is brave enough, he should call for a general election and we would make sure Jeremy Corbyn wins it.
A major immigration policy declared today by Boris is the return of the points based Australian style system. You meet the points, you get the visa. No room for subjectiveness or visa denial because the immigration officer doesn't like the immigrant. I came to the country in 2009 as a student via the points based system, I would probably have failed to get in if there was an interview. Please pardon my ignorance, what does the new immigration law says. I've been praying that whatever policy Boris will bring must favour me and my family and so shall it be!!! |

hosey: Did you win the NTU International scholarship or Postgraduate Masters scholarship? Did you apply for Nigeria High Achievers Award scholarship as seen here: https://www.ntu.ac.uk/international/meet-us-in-your-country/visit-schedule-by-country/africa/nigeria ?
Note that in addition to your own Tier 4 visa requirement, tuition fee and your maintenance fund, you must also have the maintenance fund of your dependant. If you want to bring one dependant, this is what you need:
Tuition: 14500 minus 2000: 12500 pounds Maintenance: NTU is outside london, so 9135 pounds (If inside London, you will need £11385) Dependant: NTU is outside london hence 6120 pounds (If inside London, you will need £7,605)
Total amount needed in your account since NTU is outside London is: 27755 pounds. You must keep that amount in your account for 28 days before you can apply for visa. Since you have paid part payment of 6,000 pounds, hence you must keep £21,755 in your account for 28 days. Make sure you tell them you have made part payment and explain explicitly your application.
5. Check currency fluctuation here: https://www1.oanda.com/currency/converter/
6. Good. You can do TB test now. It lasts for 6 months. But before you apply for visa, make sure all the above is correct
7. Not really. U Please can you expantiate more about #7? Why did u say "not really" |
Business › Bill Gates No Longer World's 2nd-richest Person by Phayie(op): 12:40pm On Jul 19, 2019 |
Luxury goods mogul Bernard Arnault has displaced Microsoft Co-Founder Bill Gates as the second wealthiest person in the world.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the 70-year-old who currently is the chairman and chief executive of Louis Vuitton SE or LVMH (LVMHF) broke through to the top 3 ranks last month when his net worth surpassed $100 billion for the first time.
Gates had held steady as the second-richest person the world — behind Amazon’s Jeff Bezos — for seven years.
But Arnault took Gates’ spot after LVMH stock surged on Tuesday, increasing his net worth to $107.6 billion.
The Frenchman’s total worth is now more than 3% of France’s economy.

Arnault, who is known as “the wolf in cashmere,” was born in he French city of Roubaix.
He joined his family’s construction business in 1971 and moved to the U.S. in 1981 when the socialists came to power in France.
Back then, he was considered a “was a little-known real-estate developer trying to expand his venerable French family's influence in New Rochelle, N.Y,” according to a New York Times Article from 1989.
He entered the luxury market in 1984 with an acquisition of a near-bankrupt French textile company that owned Christian Dior.
He later sold the company’s other businesses and used the money to buy a controlling stake in LVMH, which was at that point a merger between Louis Vuitton and champagne and cognac maker Moët Hennessy.

Arnault then ousted the Louis Vuitton president and took over, a strategy that he repeated over the years, and has built the luxury goods conglomerate that today owns Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, and more.
While his “brash American-style” approach to business was criticized by the French press in the past, he’s described by The Telegraph as a man of refined taste: He’s a classical pianist and an art collector.
LVMH saw revenue growth grow 16% in the first quarter of this year, led by strength in fashion and leather goods.
The company also recently announced that it reached an agreement with Stella McCartney to further develop the Stella McCartney House. Stella McCartney, a British fashion house, was up until last year owned by LVMH’s competitor Kering.

Oospi: Good evening everyone, #Newbie alert!! Please I need frank answers here is my current position.... 1. I have currently secured admission for my MSC at a UK university, the tuition is about 15000 2.the school asked me to pay a deposit of 3500 before I could be issued with CAS. I can come up with the deposit but the issue is.... 3. The remainder of the tuition and living expenses, the chances of coming up with it (roughly 20000) And having it in my account for 28 consecutive days are very slim 4. When I saw the above condition I almost gave up, but I have to ask what are my chances of securing a visa if I can just lump the whole money in there for a few days, print the statement of account and submit 5. Again, I can get another 5000 pounds next year(the program starts Jan 2020) what are my chances of completing the program with side hustle? Thanks everyone The money needs to be in your account for 28 days before you can print the statement. Also u need to leave the money in your account for atleast 2 wks because they can call to verify your account. I might not be totally right though |
