PoliticsRe: ACN Loses Another LG Seat to the PDP In Lagos by pheesayor(m): 8:44am On Nov 23, 2012
While I don't have any issue with the fact that there elections were rigged or not (tribunal should settle that), what I have issues with is that the same PDP that opposed the creation of additional LGAs in Lagos is now the same party contesting for posts in those LGAs turn LCDAs. Hypocrisy at its best

ziccoit: He was acclaimed to be a lot of things b4 the last election that saw him as the president.

Now, he has shown us how artificial dynamism could be used to deceive the people. Jonathan is what you think of him now. In some weeks to come, you will see another 'good' GeJ to deceive you once again(2015).

PoliticsRe: Has Anyone Heard A Word From Dame Patience Recently? by pheesayor(m): 9:17am On Nov 16, 2012
The first step to solving a problem is to admit the problem exists, the presidency has never agreed she is sick so why would we pray for her? Besides God don't answer such prayers
upchair: If the 1st lady is ill, instead of looking for information about where she is or what form of illness she has or how bad it is, I believe the proper thing for all of us to do is to pray to God to heal her completely. Any body can fall sick regardless of his or her position. I believe she needs our prayers now more than anything else. If she has decided not to show up in public for now, let us respect her privacy more especially if is going to be part of the healing process. I believe that is the least we can do for her.

PoliticsRe: Okada Riders Leave Festac Town Enmass To North? by pheesayor(m): 8:41am On Nov 12, 2012
I've complaining about this and have taken pictures, I complained on twitter and someone said according to the traffic law, okadas aren't allowed in festac, this got me mad, same festac that buses only ply few roads and all short cuts to trek have been blocked over the years huh That law must be amended, this can't stand. Will post pictures later
Onegai: Very true. I spoke to one, he said they impounded his okada and he had to settle N2500 to get it back, and that they could only ply early morning or late at night. When I told him the ban didn't affect Festac, he shrugged and said officials have been seizing bikes. The okada rider replied that most of them are relocating during christmas, as the only place they can work now is Apapa. Sadly, Festac doesn't have good transportation network, so this isn't really welcome. Dunno why they're going after them.
If you're a festac resident please let's work this together, if you have the time.

FamilyRe: Has Marriage Counseling Made Any Difference To Your Marriage? by pheesayor(m): 8:50am On Nov 09, 2012
I've not regretted following you, you're simply brilliant
lastpage: Thank you Sir!

Well, our parents NEVER "think" the way we think today!

For example,
*our parents respected the "marriage arrangement" where the father is the HEAD of the family!

*Our parents never required our Momma to work fulltime to support Daddy, compulsorily!

*Our parents never had FaceBook to cheat over their spouse using E-s.ex!

*Our parents dont open their legs for any man that can "change their wardrobe and buy them a Blackberry Curve"! shocked

*Our Mothers dont throw their husbands out, over the slightest marital disagreement as has become the norm today (especially in the Western World)

*Our parents WERE NOT AFRAID TO DISCIPLINE THEIR CHILDREN.... for fear the children would dial 911..and parents get jail-time!
*Our married parents dont live in fear of one another, as spouse do nowadays, pretending all is well!

*Our parents never said "for better for worse, till death do us apart" while already "planning for a divorce and how much of the wealth they would get"!

*Our parents looked up to their own parents for guidance when the marriage gets troubled but what would a "single parent" who broke the family up, teach his/her own child, in such situation? U cant give what you dont have!!

*Our parents did not get carried-away by all these "Women's Right" nonsense! ...that create a "bigger irreparable rift" when husband and wife running into marital troubles!

*Our parents never got to the point where all "Mummy wants is child support payments from Daddy"... but does not want "Daddy in the life of the children"!

*Our parents, even when they fight (and they fight loads! wink ), knew that the family being together under ONE ROOF is sacrosanct! They would endure anything, for the sake of the children, to keep family intact!

*Our parents dont "plan and scheme" the way we do nowadays, just to prove that we are "educated and enlightened"!

*Even when "Daddy looses insanity" once in a while, the opportunity to "make-up" by begging Mummy (in a non-humiliating way) is always there to be availed of. Unlike now when any small madness results in the "One T-Shirt & Jeans" treatment!
shocked

I can go on and on about how we have ruined that thing called marriage so much so that it is no longer attractive and is actually the worst decision anyone can make now!

We can still bring back the love and go back to our old ways .... if that is what we want
..But as for "Marriage Counseling" nowadays, they'll probably handout a leaflet about "How to make more money out of your break-up", to the marrying couples! shocked shocked grin

Its sad what we have turned this world into.

you're abundantly endowed upstairs
Frankie9ice: Sure Mallam El-Rufai isn't endowed physical-stature wise,....but that shouldn't make any slowpoke describe/call him pint sized. Perhaps he is so so endowed mentally (intelligence-wise) by his Creator to mitigate d fact that he is not a tall guy. Abeg that Mallam's brilliance towers far above that of his peers, we got to give that to him.

I beleive elrufai has theright to own a twitter account and has never begged anybodyto follow him, whatever he says he's entitled to, so I ask naijapundit aka beaf aka reno omokri, why are you following him if he's no more relevant as you claim? You try to incite peeps online to ignore the message and attack the messenger.

When elrufai speaks, gej and co will always shake and the result is always the attack on his person by the 40 laptop crew which he revealed to us and which we have confirmed.

Using pat utomi's name on facebook to promote naijapundit is what I still don't understand

banki: I challenge you to tell us where and what inciting remarks were made, if you dont show it or prove it your a liar 13 youth corpers lost thier lives due to post election violence including my former roommate at school.....

MORE than 200 youth copers died before and after elections due to the bad roads that GEJ and pdp collected money for and did not fix, MORE thann 1000 Nigerians have lost thier lives due to the failing state of our hospital facilities because GEJ and the PDP have chopped all the money meant to fix our hopitals, As a country we have never lived at this level of insecurity since after the civil war, The government is doing little or nothing to quell insurgency and you are here accusing Buhari of killing people.

I have always said it anyone who is scared of Buhari is corrupt and inept and scared of real change

while I partially agree, we should priotise human life, and get murderous policemen prosecuted, avoiding them makes them wanna always play God.
Okija_juju: I know I am gonna be attacked for this post..

But why do Nigerians put themselves in situations that gives the Police the opportunity to burst a cap in their a`ss?!

I know that the Police are crazy demented Niggas.. So I wont break the Law so I dont give them any reason to shoot me.. The Okada man that got shot, he was breaking the law. I'm not saying that its okay for the Police to shoot people at random o!! But if you take a lighted candle into a room full of gunpowder, I cant blame the gun powder for the explosion..

PoliticsA Landlady And Our Grab-your-own Mentality by pheesayor(op): 8:41am On Nov 08, 2012
My Landlady is over 50 years old. She would be one of these folks that’d curse the loudest when thieving politicians are being cursed. I am sure she has her own ideas on how to curb corruption but when push came to shove this weekend, she turned out to be just like every thieving politician if not worse than the worst of them.

She had called to inform me about making payments for the plumbing work done in my bathroom. She said the plumber had refused to collect her bargain and she advised I just pay what she suggested – which was 80 per cent of what I finally paid because I said I’d rather pay what the plumber requested. When I called the plumber to ask how much he was paid, it turned out my landlady had cheated the plumber of some 60 per cent of his pay. Apart from this, she had also cheated another worker of some 50 per cent of his pay. This apart from keeping the first batch of money I sent for repairs claiming they had been used to buy materials for the job. The workers later claimed they never collected any money from her to buy anything. Trusted to manage less than a hundred thousand naira, this mother had failed on all counts. She goes to church and from the look of things, she is probably a top member of her church. When I told her to her face that she had been lying and stealing, she couldn’t even respond. That’s shameful!

I shared this story above because it is very convenient to look at those in public positions as being responsible for where Nigeria is. The truth is, were each Nigerian adult running the government the way s/he runs his life, we’d still be where we are if not worse. Sincerely speaking, corruption has become the norm both in public and private settings. Not to be corrupt in this nation today is to be the outlier. Yes, the politicians will always be at the receiving end of the blames for where Nigeria is today but is it possible that we allow them to do all they like with our country because we know deep within ourselves we’d do same thing? Is it a subconscious expectation that “Let them do what they like, my time will come” that keeps us accepting this norm of madness, corruption and nonsense from those at the helm?

When we suffer water shortage, we don’t look for public solutions, we buy bottled water. When the roads to our houses become bad, we don’t look to fix them or get the Chairman/Councillor to fix them, we buy Sport Utility Vehicles that can negotiate the potholes. More recently, when the airlines cannot be trusted to move us within the country, we buy personal jets to move us around. With the private jets, we are able to look the other way whatever happens to the local airline industry. With the SUV, we can forget about the bad roads and with our private water, we can forget the community lacks potable water. We are about ourselves, our selfish ends and what we can grab. This is not about politicians, this is about most Nigerians.

A society moves forward if the people learn to solve problems that affect everyone and not when individuals look to find their own ways around such. Look at the Boko Haram insurgency. The State Security Service and the Police Headquarters are well guarded. They even ensured the roads close to them are not open to traffic most of the time. They are “privately” escaping the menace of terrorism just like Aso Rock has invested more on security than ever before in Nigeria’s history. Like most Nigerians, these folks are only helping themselves escape national problems. Nigerians can take care of themselves. And yes, we are doing that privately. It is a grab-your-own mentality that has essentially become the norm. My landlady was trying to grab hers but she won’t be grabbing with from me. I know how to get my things back from cheats.
