The child fell sick yesterday and I heard more shocking info. All the father did was buy him drugs from the chemist. If the other child just coughs, the father become afraid and start panicking, and if he manages to fall sick, the father will not become himself anymore, buys him all sorts of drugs and gives him extra care. Now the younger boy is sick, he's getting leaner and people (including the man) are blaming the house help that she's not feeding the boy properly when the truth is that the boy's condition with lack of rest of mind when the father is around will not make him have flesh. I just learnt that he beats him with wires on his bare back at times, latest I heard today is that he stabs him on the head with biro. No family member he will listen to, all his siblings and friends have quit advising him on issues because he does not listen He makes the boy feel inferior to his elder brother and that is worsening the case, there r times he even loses appetite. The older though not fat, has much more flesh. I will first try out the option of his church maybe he will listen, "Our savior's church (anglican) in marina is his church. If there's any member here please let me know. I have gotten the church address and email and will mail them now, from there we can know what next to do, I will still remain anonymous so I can give you guys his phone number yet. Thank you everybody, I appreciate and I pray we will get a solution to this |
He's not dead,I asked for a tweet confirmation and he retweeted. Thank God |
Popular yoruba comedian Mr Latin has been reported dead by ascology news, link was posted on twitter via @ascology. His last tweet (@mr_latin) as at this time is "See you people later. Bye" that was 9hours ago Anyone with screenshots from the above twitter account should please upload, anyone woith updates please let's know |
I know so much because I'm an insider and that's why I need to be anonymous when getting help for the boy as the father has refused to listen to all of us. The boy doesn't even fail outrightly, there are 7 in his class and his average position has always been 4th/5th |
Thanks everyone for your suggestion, first I'm not a teacher in his school but a teacher in another school. The mother is not is not in her right mind to care for the kids that's why she's away. The man has a very tight routine daily: goes for jogging early in the morning, afterwards go to his office, drive through traffic from alaba to festac then comes home very tired and still takes time to ensure he does his school assignment or the home assignment he have him, if he doesn't get the sums right he makes sure they solve together at times till about 10-11. And note, the father is always sad whenever the boy doesn't get things right but has refused to listen to the fact that children don't develop the same way and that the boy needs time, he's just stubborn that's it. Its a duplex house so no one hears during the beating except seeing from outside in the evenings when he's beating in the living room so its possible neighbours are not even aware. I will contact office of the Public Defender in Lagos State for more guide about thi and report back here. Thank you all. |
shadrach77: Kindly report the father to the Social Security Department fast!Where dat one dey for naija? |
@moremi all I'm saying is nothing but the truth, I cnt seem to point out who he can listen to, he's his own boss. The irony is the man feels sad whenever the boy fails to meet up. He might be taking out the anger of his mum's condition on the child cos the child looks like the mum while the other brilliant one has his(father's) looks. I just started teaching in a primary school so now I understand children's brain can't go more than 30 mins per subject especially at home after the work at school. This is 8+ years old boy in primary 4 and boy tries so hard to please his dad out of the love he has for his dad and whenever he makes a little mistake, maybe out of fear, the man descends on him. As at yesternight there was koko on the boy's head |
The father has refused to listen to pleas by everyone even his close friends. He recently bought a mini piano for the elder one, something the younger one demanded for before now and didn't get(the elder one attends a private boarding school in otta). We told his teacher about it and the teacher confirms its having a negative effect on the child in school, we told him to discuss it with the father which he did, the beatings reduced for a while but he started again. The irony is the boy still loves his father but needs help. Any human rights or child rights group I can contact? And what does the child right law of lagos state say about this? |
The mother has slight mental disorder and that's why she's not living with them, there's no holiday or weekend for the boy as their board is always filled with mathematical sums and other subjects to solve. The police will do nothing because the man is a rich man, what does the law say about it especially when the child might be afraid to confirm he's being abused?. Location is festac. |
The child speaks to his mum at least once every week but fear will never let him say anything about it, even when he's ill he can't tell his father because of fear. Which authorities can I report to? And it has to be anonymous too |
Ayo and Tunde are brothers, Ayo is 11 while Tunde is 8. (Not real names, they are actually igbos). They live with their father, their mum is seperated from their dad. The elder is very brilliant and catches up easily, he's in jss 2 and his father shows him much love. The younger however is in primary 4 and is not as brilliant / sharp as his elder brother. The father expects him to be as brilliant as the other so he spends time everyday teaching him and overloading his brain, at times to as late as 9-10pm. If he makes mistake the father beats him mercilessly, at times he punches him and even spits on him. Now the boy feels less important and his morale drops by the day, his mother is not home to defend him. The father simply unleashes anger on the boy, as I'm typing his head is swollen and the father has refused to listen to anybody, he has the strong belief that overworking his brain with assignments will make him brilliant. The boy needs help but there is no one to help him. I know the beatings are not justified but how can the boy be helped before the father kills him? |

JJC is only replying because Dbanj claimed he cheated them, dude is matured and has been quiet all these while. JJC got talent, Bigbrovas went global and its good we know he wrote mobolowon cos I'm not sure it was written on the cd at that time. I've always said dbanj is where he is today because of don jazzy's beats, no one will pay attention to his vocals ordinarily but the beats have always been attractive, Dbanj owes his success to don jazzy. The next few years apart will reveal more I'm sure. |
On Wednesday, the Honorable Farouk Lawan-led House of Representatives ad-hoc committee on fuel subsidy regime laid their findings on the floor of the House. Whoever that has read that report and is not angry with the government must either be one of the indicted criminals or down with dementia. Below is a paragraph from the report: We found out that the subsidy regime, as operated between the period under review (2009 and 2011), were fraught with endemic corruption and entrenched inefficiency. Much of the amount claimed to have been paid as subsidy was actually not for consumed PMS. Government officials made nonsense of the PSF Guidelines due mainly to sleaze and, in some other cases, incompetence. It is therefore apparent that the insistence by top Government officials that the subsidy figures was for products consumed was a clear attempt to mislead the Nigerian people. To refresh your memory, I will take you back to December, 2011. The event was a town hall meeting organized by the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria. It was designed to create an opportunity for the government to engage the Nigerian people on why the administration needed to increase the pump price of fuel. Prior to that meeting, several key actors in government had argued that Nigeria was spending a staggering sum of N1.3 trillion to subsidize petroleum products; an amount they claimed was unsustainable. In the town hall meeting, this same argument was reechoed. The government was no longer ready to throw away money that should be for infrastructural development. They were set to build schools, hospitals, refineries, railways, and every good thing imaginable with the money. Nigerians were advised to endure the pains which would be for a brief period. After the pains would arrive pleasure. That meeting was important to some of us, because it laid bare the real sides of people who hitherto were seen as populists. The Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, her petroleum counterpart, Diezani Allison-Madueke and the Central Bank Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi were those who came to represent the government of President Jonathan. On hand to lend them support was the governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, who unwittingly demolished the remaining of the goodwill he acquired during his years as NLC president, a goodwill which was, albeit, acquired on falsehood. Many discerning minds wonder why people still – at least up to that moment – believed he was sincere while in NLC. In all their arguments in favour of the insensitive imposition of petrol tax on Nigerians, none agreed to acknowledge the role official corruption played in ballooning the amount paid for subsidy from the appropriated N240 billion for 2011 to over N1 trillion. Well-meaning Nigerians told the government in clear terms to get serious with the fight against corruption and block all loopholes through which money was leaking into the ready pockets of the criminals. The Jonathan team at that meeting created the impression of government as one helpless institution that had been overpowered by vested interests in the petroleum industry. Sanusi of CBN achieved a new grade in rabble-rousing when he argued that people smuggled fuel outside our borders because our neighbouring countries were buying the product costlier than we did, and that the difference in prices was “big enough to bribe everybody from here to the border”. In his grand plot to deceive Nigerians, Sanusi didn’t accept that people are paid to man our borders, and that it was an indictment on both government and those people on the borders that criminals successfully smuggle petrol out. He only took us to Greece and back, and then threatened us with a combination of the Greece and Italian experiences if we refused to take the punishment. At a point in the debate, Okonjo Iweala told us to “help them” catch the thieves. That was an embarrassingly irresponsible line dropping out of the mouth of a senior government official. For Diezani, she didn’t know how many litres of fuel Nigerians were consuming per day. But she knew we needed to save over a trillion naira. Her arrogance in the whole saga was particularly irritating. Adams Oshiomhole in his debate was lacking in finesse and sound logic. He told Nigerians that fuel was the only commodity that hadn’t increased in price since 2007. That was enough reason to jack it up. For Adams, the prices of things must increase from time to time. I wonder where he learnt that from. He even ventured into the ridiculous, advancing the notion that Goodluck Jonathan was showing uncommon courage by going for a decision as unpopular as subsidy removal. To downplay on corruption, he told us how Nigeria will go up in flames if state governors were giving us the access to conduct post-budget auditing in their various states. Those whose post-budget auditing would stir up riots include Mr Oshiomhole himself, the reformer. That was a new low for the Edo Governor. Although that team of mischief left the debate thoroughly defeated, and promised to “consult further” before implementing their evil withdrawal of subsidy, they refused to further consult with anybody, and went ahead to stir an eruption that brought Nigeria to a halt, and pushed the country very nearly off the cliff. To quell the uprising, they deployed military might and ordered the men to kill and silence protesters, bribed and or intimidate NLC which has a history of sabotaging all the struggles they have ever led since the Oshiomhole years. The rest is sad history, but the outcome is the Farouk-led committee’s report. What many suspected has been verified by that panel: that the criminals are the same people in government; and that they were desperately pushing for the subsidy removal so as to free up enough money for the sustenance of their greed and avarice. The chickens have come home to roost, and here’s the time to ask further questions. Where is team Jonathan? Of particular interest is Diezani Madueke, the petroleum Minister who, interestingly, is the head of the board of NNPC, that corruption exploration and refining outfit. In the heat of the brawl, she quickly assembled a group of Nigerians with proven integrity, christened them a task force and appointed Nuhu Ribadu its chair, all in a bid to sell the image of a reformer. Yet Diezani is sitting atop a government corporation that steals billions, daily, from the same government of which Diezani is a key member. Diezani was out to deceive the Nigerian people. And she almost succeeded, but for the doggedness of many. Is she still in this government presiding as a minister? Is she waiting for Nigerians to take over the streets again before she resigns and returns the billions in her possession? Let’s assume Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala wasn’t part of the massive stealing and was defending the policy based on what she thought were legitimate figures. Now the truth is out. What is the honorable thing for her to do? Is she waiting to be reminded to tender her resignation immediately and apologise to the Nigerian people for making herself part of that wicked design to inflict untold hardship on the long-suffering Nigerians? It will be to her ultimate shame to continue in office now that it has been ascertained that fuel subsidy removal has nothing to do with unsustainability. Let us assume again that Mrs. Ngozi wasn’t aware; now she knows, we expect her resignation tomorrow if there’s any jot of guilt - or milk of mercy - still left in her conscience. Malam Sanusi was recently quoted as saying the entire subsidy must go. He complained that “they” had not saved anything yet from the one they removed. To save enough, he is proposing a blanket removal. Well, I think the stage is set for Sanusi to remove himself first. He presided over all the illegal withdrawals from the CBN to pay for non-existent subsidy. I had expected his letter of resignation to be forwarded to the president first thing Thursday morning as a way of apologizing to Nigerians, and informing us of his lack of knowledge in the earth-quaking stealing that characterized the subsidy regime. It is possible that he is yet to study the report in full. I still expect to hear, tomorrow morning, that Sanusi has removed himself from the CBN. He needs a place in the streets of Nigeria where he will learn that his statistics at the apex bank are divorced from the realities on ground. As for Oshiomhole, I expect Edo people to reward him with an overwhelming rejection at the polls for the shameful role he played in impoverishing Nigerians under the guise of subsidy removal. And just for a brief reason why these people should leave immediately, here again, is the last line from the paragraph I started with: It is therefore apparent that the insistence by top Government officials that the subsidy figures was for products consumed was a clear attempt to mislead the Nigerian people. I didn’t say that, the Farouk committee report did. And I believe it in its entirety. Chinedu wrties for www.ekekeee.com You can join him on Twitter for more direct engagement: @ekekeee |
Popular pastor and founder of the Living Faith Christian Church International, David Oyedepo, will face a legal action for slapping a young lady during church service, last year. Robert Igbinedion, a Lagos based lawyer, confirmed to that he had filed a suit, on behalf of the young lady, at the Ogun State High Court for the enforcement of the lady’s fundamental rights to freedom from inhuman and degrading treatment, human dignity, fair hearing, and freedom from discrimination. Mr. Igbinedion is seeking an award of N2bn as ‘general and exemplary damages’ against Mr. Oyedepo. “If a wrong is done to the young lady, she is bound to receive justice for that wrong,” said Mr. Igbinedion, a Solicitor at Salus Populi Chambers. In the suit, Mr. Igbinedion said that the young lady, while answering an “illegal” alter call, was trying to explain herself when the pastor gave her “a dirty and thunderous slap.” “The respondent (Mr. Oyedepo) made the alter call for witches to come out, he did not make a similar call for other categories of sinners like illicit drug dealers, contract inflators, fraudsters, adulterers, and fornicators in the church,” read the suit. Mr. Igbinedion, who represented the victims of the celebrated Pastor Emeka Ezeugo (popularly known as Reverend King) at the Magistrate court, in 2006; stated that cases of violence in the place of worship if not nipped in the bud could escalate into ‘uncountable’ dimensions. Furthermore, he said the calling out of the young lady (and others) as witches are illegal, unconstitutional, and a breach of Section 34 of the Constitution of Nigeria, African Charter on Human and People’s Right, and United Nations Universal Declaration on Human Right. The suit asked the court to compel Mr. Oyedepo to issue a self-signed public apology to be published in two national dailies and one international satellite television station. It also wants the respondent to issue a similar alter call for drug dealers, corrupt government officials, bribe-giving contractors, and other category of sinners who are members of the church. In December last year, a video of Mr. Oyedepo viciously slapping a teenage girl during church service for saying she is “a witch for Jesus” appeared on popular site You Tube. Though later removed, the video went viral within days with the pastor, fondly called Papa, receiving a lot of stick from outraged viewers and members of the public. One viewer described the act as “unbiblical, barbaric, and a disgrace.” Days later, another video surfaced in which Mr. Oyedepo tried to justify his action saying “it is my ministry to slap” and that the fact that the witch, rather than going to court, apologized showed his superiority. “People now complain on the Internet that I slapped a witch. If I see another one, I’ll slap,” he said in the video. Source: http://www.pheesayor..com |

I read, with unpretentious disgust and outrage, the unsavory remarks of one “Ifyalways” on nairaland, Nigerians feast on ugly news, but the case as that of Okeoghene John is saddening, depressing and unfortunate because it is an attempt by IFY, or whatever she is called to gain glory in the case of Oke. It amazes me how a fellow Nigerian took pride in releasing quite degrading reports about another being, who is in pains, and contrary to her report, heavily suffering from Diabetes. At a point, I asked, “what did Ify derive in the derisive article she wrote?” “what’s her motive?”. If a whole Delta State delegation had believed Oke, who did Ify see? But trust most Nigerians won’t see this side! It is unfair in the eventual to see that her article almost caused some of us our image and credibility, as we (Japheth, Chinedu, Rosanwo, Kathleen, etc quite a sum of twitterers) had devoted time to the fund raising and the tweeting to raise awareness for Oke. It would have been said we were a bunch of scammers on the long run. Many had come to ask us to disclaim the article and verify her statements. Having responded (see previous blog), it is imperative we remind Ify of her insincerity of purpose, the deceitful and wicked gesture with which they treated a lot of Gullible Nigerians to plates of lies. I am tempted severely to release Ify’s number so as many as possible can let her know Nigerians do not deserve the attention of glory seekers, or busy bodies but true, investigative and honest fact-finding journalists (if perhaps that is what she seeks) but i’ll let it pass. I have very little respect for dishonest/dubious people. Her actions seriously hurt me and totally undermined our efforts to saving a fellow citizen of our great nation (although down-trodden at the moment). May God bless Oke as he prepares to go for his treatment. May god bless the efforts of all who contributed to making this a reality. May God bless the Delta State government for their love. God bless you. Please click on the attached document to see for yourself Ify’s “wise” submissions on her NAIRALAND page I am @seunfakze http://seunfakze./2012/03/21/ify-madam-nairaland/

the campagne has been on since last week and if the guy says its 900k then he most likely hasn't checked for update, truly as at last weekend it was 900k but it definitely would increased without the guy knowing. This is not an excuse not to give |
Hi everyone, I have a dstv dish installed, I got their office to subscribe and was told the decoder is no longer supported, I now want to use it for FTA instead, from what I've read here I understand I'll need a strong decoder. What else do I need and how do I go about it? |
Don Jazzy was concerned about the masses, Dbanj was concerned about his ego. Do you all wonder why Wande Coal's new singles sounded whack? Don J spent only two days working on those songs wasting all the time on Dbanj. As for the kanye signing, it favors Don J more cos he was signed as a producer and has already co-produced already for GOOD music already. Don Jazzy is the secret behind Dbanj's success, even a blind man will see that. Don J was JJC's co-producer before they came to Nigeria to take advantage of the Nigerian market. DBanj is nothing without Don J, let's see how they survive apart but y'all should know Don J was the one who left their mansion and who says Dbanj has more money? Cos he said he owns mo hits and Don J is is his artiste?? Think well, look at their roles and see who earns more. Unless he gets someone as good as Don J, Dbanj is finished, you can boiokmark my post for future reference ![]() |

Julius berger has vacated mazamaza and ccecc situated their own camp beside mobil filling station at festac first gate. The farthest they've gone is the u-turn before oluti bus stop. The glo mast at agboju has also been completely evacuated. The traders complaining should have gotten alternatives since the first lot started. They can as well move backwards, the only stumbling block being clearing the bush therre. |
January 2012 was remarkable in the history of Nigeria. It was the month that sent a message to those whose core merchandise in statecraft is insensitivity in policy formation and implementation. That month, Nigerians proved those who used to dismiss them as cowards wrong. Our legendary docility gave way to participation. Our penchant for not caring to know how our resources are massively looted in government was jettisoned for a new found love for knowing: knowing how we get our revenues and how we expend same; knowing how much litres of fuel we consume per day; knowing the exact amount it costs us to feed our president. It was this quest for knowing, and insistence on having things done properly, that pushed us to the streets to protest the blank increment of pump price of fuel. It was hugely successful. Those eruptions were initiated by mostly young people. Under the aegis of #OccupyNigeria, youths planned such protests that staggered the establishment andjolted the pessimists. That was a revolution we started, but lost it to our lack of form. We have thought it through, and seen that the battle to reclaim Nigeria demands a new approach. We have opted for a continuation of the revolution we started with #OccupyNigeria. It has a new name: #20MillionYouthsFor2015. What are we about? We are an assemblage of young Nigerians whose primary aim is to change the course of governance, not from the sidelines this time, but from inside the system. We plan to build a membership of, at least, 20 million people -from every tribe and religion - who will participate in educating Nigerians about the need to destroy the existing order that is fast running our country out of existence and instituting a new order that will birth equity, fairness, justice and development for all. We will be partisan becausepolitics is too serious a business to leave for the politicians alone. We will participate fully in the politics of this country. Our army of 20 million people will organize themselves, pick intelligent, courageous, transparent and detribalized candidates for all positions in the 2015 elections and run their campaigns from ground up. There is no age limit, but leadership of the movement will be restricted to young people alone. We are tired of just becoming critics. Aluta Continua isn’t one of our favorite quotes. We won’t continue with the struggle. WE SIMPLY WILL END THE STRUGGLE by ending the grip of the corrupt in our polity. We owe our generation the duty of saving this country, building it to become a force to be respected in the world, and passing down to our children a nation they can be proud of. What makes us different from regular NGOs?Most NGOs are mere observers. We will not just observe. We’ll become actors in the system. We will build an entirely new country beginning from our internal processes. We have in our roadmap a system that makes power of the movement resident in the local communities. Our strength is in our membership system that replicates itself. It is called the CELL system. Every member MUST belong to a cell. Ownership is by everybody. Every leadership position is by popular votes. Bribery is abhorred and punishable by expulsion. Every member will be made to understand the importance of working hard for the movement. Our core duty is education. But we will not educate people from afar. We will bring them into our fold and educate them on citizenship participation. We have an enormous pool of human resourceswith which to achieve this aim. Movement Ownership: Every member is an owner. The rules do not give room for one-man ownership. We have put every structure in place to make it impossible for the movement to become a one-man movement. Modus Operandi: We’ll run like a world-class corporation. We have set up our system to operate like a frictionless machine, with the speed of an insurgency and the efficiency of a corporation. We’ll take advantage of the youth population in the country. We will aggressively recruit members. In fact, outreach is part of our rules. We have found the solution. All we need to do is begin implementation. And that implementation commences the moment you sign on. It begins with you! Our road map is available for people who are interested.
