engrola00001: I was actually at German embassy Abuja, last week for certification, that was my second time in recent time, the VO said jokingly that I should not come again for certification, else I will pay, I told her I won't come again, she said, she hope next time she would see me, it would be for my interview, I now asked her is it possible to do my interview in abuja, she said yes. Good news, thank you for this |

deleven: Good day everyone. I had my interview April 18, 7am and I'd love to post about it. I Got to the embassy 6:30am, presented my appointment confirmation to the security officer and was ordered to sit alongside other applicants. We were called by mr Paulinus, Three Students at a go, just to arrange documents(original, photocopy and photocopy) before proceeding to the security checkpoint thereafter Interview waiting room.
So I arranged my documents, and was ushered in. I was told to sit at the waiting section right after the security checkpoint. After few minutes of waiting, it got to my turn. The VO was friendly. She asked for my passport photographs (she collected 3 from me), school name, appointment confirmation and then biometrics. I was given a document to sign stating I would block and send the blocking confirmation ASAP.
She was going through my documents then she saw my B1 certificate and she said the interview would be conducted in German (I was surprised, cuz I did the exam December, I might have forgotten some words and also I never expected it) but God took control it went well.
She asked me Which school? Why the course? What I'll do after studienkolleg? Subjects I would be taking in Studienkolleg? The duration of the program? Facts about Germany? 15minutes later the interview was concluded
Concerning arranging of documents, I would suggest putting each photocopies immediately after their originals (zB. original admission letter, 2 photocopies follows immediately, Waec original,2 photocopies follows immediately usw.) So it's gonna be easy locating each documents and the photocopies. So when Paulinus calls a document , you just have to locate the original then Definitely the photocopies should follow, I did it that way and it worked Also I paid NGN30,500 visa fee
Viel Erfolg Nice one. Am surely on its way |

Hadampson: Boss, abeg create a thread about students living in Germany so we can learn about many things from you guys
I have been thinking about this for some days now. Why don't we have students living in Germany thread just like UK and Canada? cause people go come spoil am with, “how do I apply to this school?” Is English proficiency allowed? I studied history and so so so with a cgpa of 4.9 can I get an admission into a German university? Who knows if I can apply to so so so There was a thread like this but it was bastardized with these type of questions. Started looking g like the annex office of German student visa thread |

I had to check out for my interested school, mehn am not happy with what I saw, 1609 I know Covenant and UI even beat that, mtcheew. Even some people schools no enter 2700, Heybaby12 Mittweida etc. But I d here d handfan checking nonsense, she d there leaving her dreams and enjoying her freedom. What most people on Quora and YouTube say is that Germany doesn’t really care about rankings. No school is substandard compared to others. Just that some schools are better at subjects than others. This can be better at Engineering than another but worse in terms of life sciences or arts. Koko Na to port there, become fluent in the language, hustle, finish with good grades, Secure a job that can give you residence permit, don’t enter crime, file for your permanent residency after about 2-3 years of paying tax and doing everything legal. If that’s not okay and you want passport then marry!! Preferably a Nigerian Girl who grew up or was born there Cause if you attain passport by naturalization let’s say after spending 5+ years legally and paying tax. You will qualify for citizenship but on one condition. Denounce your Nigerian citizenship . E never reach that level, so Na to marry sure pass. Then you can keep both Germany doesn’t allow dual citizenship the only exception are people from the USA |

Goztino: A response to someone on how to get job after Msc in Germany
These are the following points, I think can help you:
German: You should have a good knowledge of German, you should be able to hold a normal conversation in German and also write a little bit in it. Internships: After coming here in Germany, you should do some Internships or get some technical exposure. It will help you get to know how things work here in Germany. Programming skills: You should have good hold on atleast one language of programming. Here almost everyone knows one language pretty well. Culture: Invest your time a little bit in understanding the German culture and try to mingle with Germans. You need to approach them. Nice one bro. |

legionnaire: Please I have some questions..
1. For some who resides in Abuja, does he still need to do his Visa interview in Lagos?..
2. Assuming I applied to different schools and I get an admission for a particular school and get an interview date, can I change my choice to another better school before my interview date... Because I applied to different schools and I intend to book an appointment immediately I receive admission from any school so assuming a better offer comes up, can I still change before Interview date..
I'm applying for Winter Semester
Please guys, help a brother For the first question. I haven’t done it yet but a fellow Naira lander shared his testimony about 3 weeks ago and he had his interview at the Abuja consulate. I contacted him and here’s what told me, which I’d surely do when AL shows. Send an email to student@lago.diplo.de With this format Full name and place of residence in Nigeria Admission letter or confirmation by Studienkolleg or language school Proof of scholarship of a federal German or EU organization Passport copy Topic: APPLICATION FOR A STUDENT VISA IN ABUJA Dear Sir/Ma My name is John Doe Sally, I reside at NO 37,Visa Estate ,Page 187, German visa street, ABUJA, NIGERIA I wish to apply for an appointment with the consular of the German embassy for a study visa in germany Please find attached proof of Admission letter, proof of financial aid from Fintiba/Deutch bank or SL and a copy of passport below. Goztino: very nice information. like how many percent is income tax because from data in wikipedia, I am seeing 47.475% (45% income tax + 5.5% solidarity surcharge based on the total tax bill)
working with the data above if someone earns 39,000 euro in a year, his income after tax should be 18513 Euros. from research also, it takes 700 euro to live in Germany if you are conservative. 700x12 = 8400 euros in a year.
Then 18,513 euros minus 8400 euros leaves you with 10,113 euros per annum
Now lets convert the income to naira 10,113 x 400 euro = #4,045,200
4,045,200 divided by 12 = #337,100 profit every month.
with the above mathematical analysis, one can deduce that for a fresh MSc graduate, you are sure of atleast #300,000 income every month after tax and bills Very nice analogy! It can be more and better . Wikipedia is correct but I think it’s not the same every where, I know someone who’s gross is about 48k , meaning 4K every month but his net salary after tax is about 3450. That means his tax is about 550 euros per month. I don’t know how that tax system works but I feel it varies place to place |

Keep mailing them (might be considered as spamming though) Sha has already answered it, as a German language student you aren’t bound by an enrollment date. You can enroll anytime during the course of the semester and begin your language course. Enrollment dates only affect you when you are to enroll for a study program |

Kenechill: Abeg is this 35k after-tax? Or before?
And must the post study job be related to what you studied? Gross salary (before tax) but don’t worry people rarely ever get this as fresh graduates. City also has a role to play. what you’d see most people having starting like 39/40/-45 then in cities like Munich or Berlin it can enter 50-55 as staters (but then cost of living is higher) . For residence permit it must be a job related to your field of study Permanent residency after studying in Germany, you must have been working and paying taxes for 30+months and If you Can provide B1 language certificate it takes just 21 months after graduation |

enibal: . What is STEM ? And I think the minimum salary is around 38k not sure tho STEM- Science Technology Engineering and mathematics. The average salary of a fresh graduate is like 35-45k. That 35 is quite rare tho But STEM RESIDENCE permit is low cause of lack of professionals in that sector in Germany |

Fabcol: You are entitled to 18months job search permit after your studies..so definitely yes...and once you land a job (not any kind of job oh..something related to your field of study or if the job pay is up to a certain amount I think €45-50k a year not sure of the amount) then you can keep renewing with your job contract till u reach the number of years(5years, study years is counted as half year) that qualifies you for a blue card........or better Still enroll for a PhD or another master ...or marry oyibo It’s from 40k upwards for art and commercial Then 32k upwards for STEM That allows you get residence permit |
