odimbannamdi: For those of us looking to start applications after August against Summer session next year, would this make economic sense, considering the maintenance cost of the account?
On the flip side, i am wondering if Fintiba has investment banking options where i can dump the money before the new rule starts in August and easily liquidate it into the normal BA option when my visa is granted early next year?
I am just thinking of how the circumvent the new increment, avoid account maintenance costs and even make my money work for me.
I know sey sense no go kill me...

charlesu49: Good Evening House, This is my first post here and I must confess I haven't gone through the previous threads thoroughly, I beg your pardon in advance if I ask annoying or already answered questions.
So, I'm currently working and saving for a dream MSc. in Germany, as a beginner in this journey, what and what do I need to put in place?
2. I am hoping to apply for the free tuition unis, though, how much will I need to save up at the least to carter for other needs over there pending when I can get a part time job
3. How much will I likely spend both for VISA and the trip down there.
4. How easy is it to get a part time job over there while studying? And can this be enough for me?
5. What is the accommodation like for students? Will it be free for the tuition free unis? If not, what is it like?
6. What should I know about obtaining the VISA?
Will be taking the IELTS soon as I think that should be my first step, what do you advise? What should I know about the whole process. Thanks in anticipation, forgive me. My guy biko, read only page 1 of this thread( the first post sef) for starters, 80% of your questions would be answered. Then if you like yourself and sincerely want your DE hustle to be a success. Read the remaining pages of only part 6. It would help a lot One love men |

Deustchemann: I'm not too into engineering laidat. I only know for Hochschule Hamm- Lippstadt Electronic Engineering. Application is ongoing
PS: your search criteria will extremely limit the options you'll get. Most bachelor applications go via uni-assist and quite a large number of schools require ielts/toefl, especially in sciences and engineering.
You have to free one of those criteria : especially uni-assist. Find the money and pay for it.
On the other hand, try out Duisburg - Essen ISE programs. They are taught majorly in English but some parts in German. Admission is unrestricted. Lemme tag Philfit to add to this. Na the extent wey I sabi be that. My brother from another mama Your chances are high when you apply to a german taught program, so if you really want to increase your chances of admission, apply to the school. They give you conditional admission to learn german in Germany for 1 year if you have no knowledge of German. Application is done online and by post. The online form won’t take you more than 20 minutes. Goodluck |

Chriswazo: So today is my birthday, no champagne or announcement whatever, just on a low key. My winter partners ma una show me love and wish me luck this next week for my AL, that's my headache now, I believe visa booking will follow suit this next week.
Mehn, is not easy. I thank God for the life and accomplishments so far.
Is really a new level for we the winter hopefuls if we believe God.
I choose to post my only birthday post here, not Facebook or Whatsapp or Twitter, but here. That's where I feel to say something (being that we share the same obsession for now though was reluctant earlier in the morning Sha, just wanted today to just pass like that till Al is settled but ungratefulness wouldn't be a good way to enter new year So I give back all the whole praise and Glory to the 'I am that I am', chaiii, thank you so much. I don't deserve it by my hard works or diligence to you but u have always shown me you are in the business of blessing people, thank you
I am amazed at the new level, only AL remaining to complete and then Visum to consumate it all, but that is 'akam' case seeing all He has done just this year alone. Watch out for my full testimony to understand better I am just blessed, the Divine occurrences in my life can't just be attributed to Luck. I am a blessed child, with an obligation to extend the same level of blessings to those unprivileged, at the end, all praise will be to Him.
This is just the beginning friends, we are only starting. Let no man here "loose him moral" in this journey and I end by with these two scriptural references "With God, all things are possible, Matt 19:26b" then "All things are possible if you believe, (Mark 9:23)". I encourage everyone esp those with funding issues to meditate on these scriptures and build ur faith to face the challenge, I did same and overcame Good luck!!
#shalom Oya like and show me bday love, dailydolar come sell me chicken from ur poultry, man need celebrate at all all, na once a year things Happy birthday brother. Al coming your way |

Goztino: That will be nice, Nevertheless the surest way is to apply first and when you get the admission letter, you print it out and then and take it with you to meet your rich relatives or any rich philanthropists in your hometown and open up to him and tell him everything, then show him your admission letter to authenticate your claim and tell him of your intention to pay him back when you get to Germany please make sure you let him know how much you actually have out of the needed money, then in addition, you can provide your family's land as collateral, that will make him confident in giving out the money to you. You can meet more than one person incase one person can't pay the entire amount needed.
It's very hard for anyone to give out money to another person in Nigeria, especially
1. If the person is not related to you 2. There is no collateral and well written agreement 3. There is no history of the person financial behaviour.
And also its very hard to see a Nigerian who will just give out 4 million naira just like that because those that have the money either suffered so hard to earn it or is into business which requires lots of money to keep going and therefore can't send 4million out if he is not entirely convinced that it will bring at least 500, 000 more with strong security Yeah spot on. Rather than asking for the block money from someone aboard , He can plead for a sponsorship letter it cost nothing, and he can promise to pay the person like 100 euros every month for 1 year as gratitude. You can increase the amount you want to be giving back in a month depends on your contract with the person. Anybody that would have that amount of money in Germany is Definitely not a student. He or she is legally working in Germany, so writing a sponsorship won’t be an issue. |

dolpaz: In my city, (Essen) The duration you get depends on the officer in charge. But trust me, the women at Essen Auslanderbehorde are what we call (Awon Iya mi Oshoronga ). They don´t smile and they´ve given students 3months, 6months, and some residency without work permit for not getting the required grades in school. The men are nice and friendly. But generally, Essen grants 2 years.
Other cities that Grant 2years in NRW are
Mulheim Oberhausen Paderborn Monchegladbach Moers Kleve Munster Essen Bonn Hamm Kresi Wesel (1yr at first, then 2 yrs afterwards)
But most times, the officer attending to you is the key Do you study at the University of Duisburg-Essen? Women too Dey mood up sha |

pompido: There is a big difference..... Comms engineering is mostly signals and systems, a lot of calculations and very little if any IT courses. Offenburg does a bit of computer networks in their curriculum so best to really look at the curriculum before deciding.
Companies abound, you will do targeted applications based on what you want to do professionally. You are on the right path Thanks. Appreciate |

Questions; Why Germany ? Why the course? Why not Usa,Canada or any other speaking countries? Why not Nigeria? What School? Bsc thesis.. then she gave me a little test to write;mind you I was not expecting to write any test because I was going for Msc not bsc,I expected only interview not test tho.. Questions; What is money?and functions of money Difference between micro economics and macroeconomics? What type of economy system does Germany have? What is inflation? A drawing under demand and supply..
Goodluck to everyone out there and I hope God grants all your heart desire Congrats sister. Wish you the best |

pompido: Let me clarify here that I had already worked a few years in Nigeria in the IT field so I kind of found the course easier than most people did. That was why I was able to clear all my courses while hustling like there was no tomorrow.
Also, because there was no way I could cope with hustling and attending lectures, I stopped going for classes except labs and presentations.
I would spend whatever time I wasn't working reading up slides and doing my research for presentation or writing papers. This way I was always almost ready for exam. I always made sure to go for final revision classes by the profs though where they would talk about the difficult areas of the course and possible give ideas on what to expect on the exam.
So, yes I kind of breezed through the course but classes and language suffered and I still ended up spending 2.5 years to finish. Thanks for the Answer. Really helped I am going for communications engineering, I know it’s different from information engineering but some schools offer them together as ICE. What makes them different tbh lol? I have work experience, but it’s in form of internships not real work. I’m planing to solidify my work experience there in good companies when I begin studies. You have a list of good companies I can target in terms of our field and what programming language is most preferred I’m learning C and C++ now. Thanks for the advise |

pompido: I am greatly pleased to be on this thread and actually read from the very first page
Quite educative and brings back a flood of memories. We thank God for grace.
All questions asked and answers given (sliding tackles and all ) are great learning curves for all.
My summary....
Landed October 3rd 2015.....Digital Communications in CAU Kiel. Took the first lecture and knew it wasn't for me. Told the profs so and opted out of the program (was still registered of course and was attending the german class provided by the school and intensive language class with VHS at the same time (register with VHS in your city within your first year to get a good rebate (up to 50% off) you can select a start date months away).
Switched to Information Engineering in FH Kiel the following summer (March 2016), did multiple jobs while studying (Printing presses, Cruise ships, Umzug, Chinese Restaurant. etc. Man hustle oooo....days of 12hrs straight jobs 4 times a week and top it with a 13hrs shift on Sundays I was actually doing good in school but learning the language suffered as I couldn't fit it in the calamitous schedule I was running (I did attend intensive classes later though).
Then I got a rude awakening , I visited my naija university mate in Berlin working for Bombardier at the time and immediately knew I was wasting my time with the lager jobs I thought was giving me money. I needed to look at the bigger picture. Got back from Berlin and applied to Allianz Technology in Munich for internship, I got in and all of a sudden was making more working 9-5pm (own office with perks, fantastic international team and exposure into the professional world in Germany) than i was doing working 12hrs (4times a week) plus 13hrs on sundays. All, while doing professional work and improving my professional profile.
I was at Allianz Technology for 1yr & 3months (finished my master project and thesis) and got 2 full time offers before I was done with my master study in October of 2018.
My advice, do what you have to do to survive out here (legally of course). Make sure you pick the right course and if you find yourself in a jam with your choice course, be open to changing. Do not worry about hustling, it is not going to be at the top of your priorities when you actually settle and draw those priorities. Especially if you are looking at the bigger picture. Work will always be available, whether in your city or outside but believe me when I say you will be alright and find a way as everyone before you have done.
Learn the language
Before you leave Nigeria or wherever you are based, set your goals (minimum and maximum), have unbelievably high expectations but also psych yourself up for the very worst case scenario so that wherever you find yourself, you would be mentally grounded to face the music and sing out loud because darkness lasts just the night, light comes with the break of dawn.
God bless our dreams and make our strives abundantly fruitful... Very good piece bro, really motivating. How were you able to do an internship that would last for 1 year in Munich while schooling in Kiel. Did you take a semester break? And even after that it seems like you still continued with them through . How was this possible bro? I’d like to learn. And did it affect your studies |
