This bundle is for blackberry subscribers, its airtel's BIS service which is entirely different in pricing from the other mobile plans. Airtel allows its BB subscribers to tether (I.e connect their PC's to the internet via BIS, other networks don't allow this) and as such you can use that subscription on your PC, internet modem, its also this functionality that other phones like android, nokia , iphone exploit to connect.

This service is for blackberries, BUT can work on other devices. Airtel is not cheating you or duping you. They just didn't make the service for you non-blackberry folks. So enjoy the loophole and freebie while it lasts.

Please help!!! Airtel charges me #3000 every month for 1.24GB on my iPhone4 but I'm reading here now that people pay btw 1200-1500 for the same data bundle that I pay 3k for. I had called Airtel customer care, they gave me a list of their data plan, I went for 1+GB. They asked me to recharge upto 3k and dial the following code *141*712*10# and this is how I have been subscribing to their data bundle every month.. Please, can someone help me here. I'm I being duped by Airtel or is iPhone package different from other smartphones?
