Yes, start a new application and choose another center. [b]Bear in mind the 30k [/b]that's on top of the official fee. As for traveling to Abuja, I'm not sure, but I don't think you need a Passport for that.

You can't change Passport office after successful payment. You may initiate fresh application, choose another center, and then pay. I'm however not sure you'd be refunded as I read somewhere on their website that refund is for only when you're charged twice.

Thanks I don't mind leaving that first payment for them at Ikoyi. I want my passport processed quickly!
So I will start a fresh application and choose Abuja as center then pay?
But can I travel on expired passport to Abuja? Or use my NIN Slip?

I mean the Maitama Express center is all the proof anyone needs to know that the Min. of Interior and the NIS boss aren't pissed that some of the officers are cashing out; they are only pissed they aren't the ones doing the cashing out. The business/business strategy even becomes clearer when you think about all those kangaroo announcements that seeks to crack down on the competition. More so, the 30k fee and the 72 hours max collection time. I should have thought getting Passports from centers like this should be FREE of additional charges especially for people who have medical emergencies or for select categories of people who can prove looming scholarship or job opportunity deadlines. Alas, this is Nigeria where the corrupt are the ones in charge of fighting corruption. This is why I laugh when some people here say "there's nothing like Express anymore."

After seeing this post I am thinking I should go to Abuja and use the Maitama Express but I have already paid for passport renewal for Ikoyi.

Go onto remita. Pay d 500 naira to nimc. Print off tbe receipt.
Go along with another official document with the 3 names, receipt of paymnt, application letter to nimc office, sworn affidavit for name
Once u change d name, u will be given a new slip with the new name. U shud be able to den donur pot in lagos. Start now!!

I think so; at the point of collection, they only needed to know the reference number and full name of the passport I was looking for. Because of the volume of passport they had to treat, it's a matter of listing to your name and you are handed the passport if you signal that It is what you're looking for.

But, I'm not so sure if one exit with it Just like that, because at the point of activation the lady asked for my identity and checked it against the passport I was collecting, coz I told her it was my wife's.

On reviewing the way things are at ikoyi, the system seamed very easy to get away with someone elses passport. I hope that doesn't happen because it will be really heartbreaking.

After your biometric data has been captured it takes 72 HOURS to process as at now
