When Imo state Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, was inaugurated in May 29 this year he told the people of the state that the damage done by his immediate predecessor and now senator Rochas Okorocha, was more than pathetic. I assumed that he was exaggerating the situation on ground considering that he was of different political platform with Okorocha and it is the norm of people of opposing political parties.
On Friday, October 18, I, along with delegation from PDP New Media Team, set out on a journey from Abuja to Owerri to honor the funeral of late Social Media personality, Stanley Nwabia in his hometown in Mbaitoli, Imo state.
In the course of the journey, I was welcomed to Kogi state by some terrible roads but I wasn't surprised, because I never expected to see something better than what I always see when plying that route. To me, Kogi has the worst road in Nigeria but... I was wrong!
Entering Imo state was pathetic. Every road and feeder roads in Imo state are eyesore and in complete ruin. Even the tunnel that I had blindly praised Rochas for after seeing it on TV and social media, was highly dilapidated and a death trap that every vehicle avoided except ours. The most shameful sight is World Bank Road- that road is complete ruins and not motorable. Meanwhile, the most disgraceful is the road leading to "Peoples House", this is because one ordinarily expect that such a road should be of world class but it wasn't. All the so-called road projects that Okorocha's propagandists parade on social media and newspapers are complete fraud. There is no single road in Imo state with good drainage system and no single road that is without potholes dragging space with vehicles.
Indeed, Imo state has the worst drainage system in Nigeria and no provision for waste disposal - No wonder Governor Ihedioha vowed to rid the state off dirt and waste that littered everywhere.
I have always held the opinion that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has no business in government house but now I'll say that he is miles better than Rochas' eight years as Governor of Imo state. I am not a fan of President Muhammadu Buhari style of administration but it is better for one to entrust his business to Buhari than to Rochas Okorocha - He is that bad!
Some readers may think I'm sounding this way because I am a PDP member, but that narrative isn't correct. I have never ceased from singing the praises of Rotimi Amaechi for some of the works he did as Governor of Rivers state, my home state despite him being of APC.
Honestly, I pity Governor Emeka Ihedioha, he is a governor that inherited all-round problem from his predecessor, he has so much work to do. He's so unlucky to be elected Governor of Imo state at this time, he is in for real work, I honestly don't envy him! But that is what service is all about, he has no other business to do than to work and deliver- that is the reason he's a leader!
Most importantly, I pity Imo people for being subjected to eight years of Okorocha, I can't help but wonder how they were able to survive under his administration. I really sympathise with Ndi'Imo!
Fortunately, Governor Ihedioha has always maintained and shown by his actions that he is ready for the challenge. Indeed, he has started well and I pray God grants him the wisdom and strength to turn Imo state around for the good, the better and the best. Amen!
I appreciate, Hon Izuchukwu Akwarandu, SA New Media to Imo state Governor, and members of his team for their hospitality; Mr Kingsley Ohen, President of United Patriots of Nigeria and entire members of UPN for always checking on me; Barr Tony Ehilebo, Coordinator of PDP New Media Team and entire members of PDP New Media Team for brotherly cohesion, and entire members of Nairaland family.
May God Bless Us All and Bless Nigeria Inioribo Tamunotonye @TonyeBarcanista, PDP New Media Team and National Publicity Secretary, United Patriots of Nigeria
Just tell us you're now a member of the "Pdp new media" and we'll understand and not trying to rubbish one bastard for one idiot. They're d same and the blame game will continue. The bad road or bad anything else is everywhere in Nigeria. And as bad as they all are, you'll surely find somewhere good in the state. Everywhere can not be worst. I've been to that state too na and I stay for like a week and the area I visited in the state capital was okay. And that's how it is everywhere in naija. The ihedioha guy too cannot do all. He'll do small dis term and use it to campaign for his 2nd term.
jakezebrax: Afonjas, let go of this logo thing and leave Innoson alone. He doesn't want the logo, nay by force? Him no want, haba! Instead let this guy go and design a logo for Proforce, he needs it more than Innoson to help his struggling business grow. When GTB tried to destroy him, you all supported GTB, called Innoson criminal, now that he survived and is doing well and growing despite all your plans to destroy him, you now want to use another tactics...lure him with logo, so that after some years, you now claim that your logo help his business to grow. Then file lawsuits for settlement for 20% of the growth money after the logo was accepted by Innoson. Innoson, Bia open your eyes, they have layed ambush to finish you off this time around.
sarrki: Sadiya Umar Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, was at the scene of the fire outbreak in Onitsha, Anambra state, on Friday.
Korllami007: He won't even win south west election talk more of winning Nigeria presidential election.
Actually He doesn't need to win the whole of South West, anyone planning on winning the presidential election in our dear country needs north . Lobatan
VirginSearcher: Imagine Nigeria ruled by Seyi Makinde and Peter Obi and visualize the kind of progress we would make in this nation... I'm not a fan of Tinubu an old corrupt man let him go and rest
Hmm this is nigeria bro. Nice combo but if them dey share am e no fit reach seyi in years to come trust me. Peter Obi? Yes
Well this is expected and I respect and throway all my salute to the innosson owner. This is life and we learn everyday and the fact that they give room for ideas is enough and trust me, this make ivm/icmp more valuable. When people started to love you they begin to love whatever you do. Trust me, with this attitude by innosson am very sure they'll take over nigeria market sooner than later. And for any Nigerian that has started something good, throw it out for debate and ideas. We will surely get there.
Finallydead: Some people just act like kids that don't know what life's about. Innoson doesn't owe the first guy anything but the promised meeting with the GM and maybe a tip to encourage him. This is business, whatever is better for your brand is what you do. So if someone gives an idea to boost your business sales and someone else inspired by that gives u a better idea, u should ignore the second to play fair. Obviously, most people prefer the second, and that's exactly why in soon should choose it over the first. I personally think the second looks more standard for a brand, the first looks like some occultist stuff. Let all those in favour of the second help to bring it to innosons notice, maybe through their social media pages, so they can make an informed choice.
You just don't get it. Well I envisiage this and I also expect some tribal war as usual. Lol
Let's see what innosson has to say bout it. Afteral it's inno's decision. Nice design but I'd still prefer d first. It shows boldness and the second is just there...
Hmm that's true o and I guess u pray for someone else to eat d fruit of your mum's labour or prolly someone else's eat the fruit of your own labour, abi? Since "life itself isn't FAIR". OPONU
It's about time Governor Obaseki tamed some of these urchins, especially Tony Kabaka.
Kabaka is the only man who thinks he is bigger than the governor but not bigger than the Oba. I wonder what gives him the balls.
He should ask Osakpanwam Eriyo (aka Nomoreloss) and Emir Sansusi how powerful power is. Because it is like he does not know that just one decree from the governor can have him and the Oba begging for alms at Ramat Park.
Lol see you o. That's because governor time go expire and Oba will still be there till he dies .
This happens when you keep malice for ever! Lol just saying... I mean this same thing is happening to Blackface but thank God he's not getting slim though but seriously keeping malice without forgiving for a long time is a disease walahi. And most time this one person in a group is not prepared for breakup(a change). Change is constant and the moment we know that, we know life continues. If someone offended you in anyway let them know and wether or not they apologies, you move on with life. Life no get part two o. #Gidbless
AfroBeatDiary: It is not a news that Twitter, the social media blogsphere went agog about the proposed improved Innoson logo by the Farouk Osuolale, the feat which has not only draw the attention of the MD/CEO of Innoson Vehicle has gotten a lot of commendation and applaud from several Nigerians including the ace activist and the self acclaimed tormentor of Buhari in the person of Aisha Yesufu. To show her support for the improved logo, Aisha Yesufu made a short video where she eulogises the designer in a tushed pidgen English.
I think I now realize the reason behind fg trying to make the media work first! It's in the interest of the country really. Most people are doing their best to make the county great while some are trying everything possible to pull it back through d media platforms. the media platform(like nairaland and co) will do great by removing/banning/deactivating anyone that doesn't have any meaningful thing to say on every trend other than TRIBAL comments. It's high time we behave like the age we claim we are in(21st century). Afteral u can't be on nairaland if you no pass through school. #Gidbless naija
Nobody is seeing this now because it's yet to be news. I broke the news here o. Innosson vehicle is going to have a new logo design by a naija boy. I keep saying it, the rich never think of dividing this country but uniting it the country. I'm very sure when this news finally comes out there will be tribal bruhaha. The tin I hate to delve into wen all this nairalanders starts dia war of words.
Wow! What more can I say. I'm not an epistle reader but I just did... I also do not like the way she reacted in that vid clip. The Vila is tempo madam. Sooner than later y'all will #packngo I believe she's educated and should have acted as one but I also believes anger took the best of the madam "first lady". The fatimah girl is also stupd with d act forgetting she's also gonna get married someday. Anyways God help them all.
chrisagyei: ****did you hear her.Nigerian goods are entering into Ghana freely buh you refuse these trucks who had already set off entry so they want to even return back. And GUTA was told to open Nigerian shops and stop the protest because you Nigerians run to these same ECOWAS to cry free trade agreement. Over 400 Nigerian shops were locked in just one town in another city called Kumasi alone which was just a spare parts dealership town.Imagine the millions of Nigerians who will go hungry in Ghana had GUTA locked up your shops and closed Nigerian retail businesses throughout Ghana. They just sounded a warning to the minister to inform you that if Ghana retaliates, it will be very ugly so stop saying trash.
See over Sabi dey worry u. Did Nigerian govt closed any ghanian shop here? No! So why d heck will Ghana be threatning us with shop closure if not for fear of what they stand to lose? It's common sense, nigeria can live off other neighbouring countries but they can't.
