Not true. The statement has been clarified by CBN and discussed severally here.

Those you mentioned were banned from CBN's OMO auction which is different from TBills.

OK. Thanks hanks man!

Good morning my fellow Naira landers!
Just learnt with rude shock that CBN had banned local individuals and corporate bodies from investing in T-bills.
Can somebody confirm this and tell us more that we may not have known? My concern.
Thanks and God bless us.

Zenith bank rate for 91 days tenor = 9.5

Do you have idea of other tenors (primary mart)?
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by phunix: 7:41am On Aug 30, 2019
To many rates and this is confusing. Primary and secondary markets rates should be indicated explicitly and the corresponding banks be mentioned. My two kobo.

First Bank is 11.8% for 364day tenor according my calculation. First bank's rate is kind of below Par compared to other banks. my thought anyway.

Last two week's bid failed and I learnt there was a boom that week - still sucking!

Am yet to be credited with either my upfront or capital from Wed day transactions. Whether the bid was successful or not I don't know. #firstbankltd.

Am yet to go to town where my bank operates.

Hello fellow men & women!
Am yet to get feelers from my bank about yesterday's bid: l was debited and up till now no credit for either my bulk money or upfront.
Can't get to my bank now till next week.
Any idea why it's so?
The bank is First Bank.
Thanks as always.

Thanks already and God bless.

Good evening the great men & women in the house!
Any news from First Bank whether its bid for 364 tenor sailed through today?
I was debited but haven't been credited upfront yet, want to know whether anyone with First Bank has a different encounter. And at what rate was it for the 364 tenor?
Thanks and God bless.

CBN quashes talk of change to exchange rate policy
By Bloomberg News
13 June 2019 | 3:21 pm
Nigeria’s central bank said it made no change to its naira policies, after a revision on its website led some analysts to speculate that it was ending a system of multiple exchange rates.

“Nothing has changed in Nigeria’s exchange-rate structure,” and the naira’s value continues to be determined by trading in the Investors’ & Exporters’ FX Window, Isaac Okorafor, a spokesman for the Abuja-based institution, said in a text message.

The I&E FX window, also know as the Nafex window, was introduced in 2017 as Nigeria sought to attract capital inflows by offering investors a weaker and market-determined naira rate. The central bank pegs an official rate — meant for government bodies and fuel importers — at a level about 20% stronger than the market price.

The central bank’s homepage on Tuesday stated that the official rate was “market-determined,” whereas it previously gave a value. The website reverted to its original form on Wednesday.

The naira was little changed at 360.46 per dollar on the I&E market as of 1:20 p.m. in London, and was 306.5 on the official market. Bonds rose slightly, with yields on one-year interbank T-bills falling five basis points to 13.93%.

Central bank Governor Godwin Emefiele, who was re-appointed for a second five-year term last month, says the current system, which includes restrictions on imports, is the best way to diversify Nigeria’s oil-dependent economy and boost manufacturing.

The International Monetary Fund has long been critical, saying the absence of a single exchange rate creates confusion and deters foreign investment. On Monday, the Washington-based lender said it was, for the first time in almost 40 years, reviewing how it deals with members that have multiple exchange rates.

“By limiting the circumstances in which Fund members may introduce and maintain multiple exchange rates, the multiple-currency practices policy aims to promote orderly exchange arrangements and a stable system of exchange rates,” it said in a statement.

Renaissance Capital said in an April note that Nigeria and Venezuela are about the only emerging markets in its coverage that have multiple exchange rates.

This what the cbn want the ideal situation..not dumping capital on fixed income but people with capital are forced to take risk and create bussiness and employment ,then pay income tax and cooperate tax to firs then govt use the money to run the country....but tb cause laziness if the brain ,high rate cause unemployment and low tax collection...it can go as low as 7 per anum ....
