Christianity EtcRe: How Did 'Jesus' Ascend 'Up To Heaven' With A Physical Body? by PhysicsQED(m): 10:51am On Aug 08, 2012
Evil Brain: Sharrap you bloody edeot. You solar systemists have started again with your lies. Do you really expect any sensible person to believe that the earth is a kind of ball rolling round a giant sun? So which ground is the ball rolling on? Why doesn't it fall down like your so called "law of gravity" says?

Nonsense! All this your scientific theories don't even make sense.

My bible says that JESUS ascended into heaven. That clearly shows that heaven must be up. Therefore, hell must be down. Do you think you know more than bible?

The solar system doesn't exist, evolution is a lie of the devil, and global warming is a myth. You people had better repent before you find hour self going down (to hellfire).
This is some majestic sarcasm.

PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Under-developed The north – Prof. Ango Abdullahi by PhysicsQED(m): 10:22am On Aug 08, 2012
This Abdullahi guy should be checked into a mental health facility or a clown college. He's not fit for regular society.

I made a big mistake by clicking on that link in your post. Please put up a warning next time.

As for the actual content of your post, yeah that sounds pretty weird.
RomanceRe: The Disadvantages Of Being Good-Looking by PhysicsQED(m): 9:00pm On Aug 07, 2012
It's pretty easy. I wouldn't say there are many real disadvantages. The only thing is that sometimes interactions with women (of almost any age) become awkward unless the woman is bold and upfront about what she wants or unless she's happily married and has no problem with telling you that you're handsome as a general compliment because she's not trying to flirt. When a shyer single woman lets slip that look/stare that makes it obvious she's attracted to you, she starts acting a bit nervous and awkward toward you afterward. That can make it hard to have a real conversation. Besides that, there's nothing disadvantageous about it.

Were they "Africanized bees"? grin

Anyway, I hope no one was hurt
CultureRe: Outside Nigeria / Cultures In West Africa by PhysicsQED(m):
There's "old kwa" or the original kwa, in which Yoruba, Igbo, etc. were grouped with Twi, Ga, etc. in a larger family, and then there's "New Kwa" in which Twi, Ga, etc. are by themselves with some other surrounding languages, and then Yoruba, Igbo, Edo, Nupe, Idoma, etc. are in a separate group called "Volta-Niger" or "East Kwa." Nowadays, I think Kwa would be used more in the sense of "New Kwa" (Twi, Ga, Guang, etc.) than in the sense of the original or old kwa that grouped languages like Yoruba, Igbo, etc. with the Twi, Ga, etc., but the old usage still persists to some extent. Anyway, it's all just linguistic labeling convention.
LiteratureRe: Nonfiction Books: State Your Preference Here by PhysicsQED(m): 4:11am On Aug 07, 2012
Some books I read a few years ago that I really liked and would recommend:

Arthur Koestler - The Sleepwalkers

E.T. Bell - Men of Mathematics

V.S. Ramachandran - A Brief Tour of Human Consciousness

Patrick Coffey - Cathedrals of Science

Timothy Ferris - The Mind's Sky

Michio Kaku - Physics of the Impossible

Andrew Hodges - Alan Turing: The Enigma

Martin Rees - Just Six Numbers: The Deep Forces That Shape The Universe

Horace Judson - The Eighth Day of Creation

Schrodinger - What is Life

Freeman Dyson - Origins of Life

Joseph Stiglitz - Globalization and its Discontents

Non-fiction I'm reading now in between studying and internet browsing:

Che Guevara - Reminiscences of the Cuban Revolutionary War

Nancy Greenspan - The End of the Certain World: The Life and Science of Max Born

The Complete Works Of Chuang Tzu

I'd be interested in seeing what more posters are reading. I've added some books mentioned by others in this thread to my list of books to read.

Nimshi: PhysicsQED: interesting list. Do you know a lot about game theory?
No, not a "lot." Not really an area of focus for me, but I find it interesting.

^ most of them were crushed.

feel free to disagree though- havent really studied the matter in depth.

but if the french could crush dahomey then i doubt any other kingdom could withstand them.
I was referring to revolts during colonial rule - after the actual kingdoms had been defeated. I think Kenichi has a somewhat distorted perspective on things because of modern events.
