kingston277: Some are, due to the wild achievement claims they believe in, while others just don't like people insulting their forefathers especially if they have built advanced civilizations.

Culture is an integral way of development. I'm sure the pic of those kids I posted would love to live in those houses and eat the abundance of food they have.
Yes,... africa had great civilisations... i know this and this should be celebrated and taught in schools
If you dont know where you are coming from, how can you know where you are going....

However some of their attitude leaves much to be desired
Family › Re: Dear Married Men, Powerful Messages From Pastor Tony Rapu To You by pickabeau1: 9:57pm On Jul 15, 2014
Nice from the pastor ...You have a point though....

You should see TD Jakes preaching and how the women nod their heads...
crackhaus: I would be surprised if he (the pastor) comes up with one for women.
Most of these new generation pastors are very woman-friendly, no offence meant but they like women no be small. grin

I can just imagine ladies chanting 'ride on pastor' from the audience when he preaches.

kingston277: Not at all, never met him before. In fact I question how often he speaks to others like this on NL. The guy needs some home training from an ifa priest. grin
Not speaking for anyone....
Generally the afro centrics on NL tend to be very rude and have a superiority complex

In africa people r all trying to eat.. culture comes second
Business › Re: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by pickabeau1: 6:37pm On Jul 15, 2014
Nice...

CityNG: Yes they do act as such.

I only buy on Amazon when the item is being sold and fulfilled by Amazon. I also use their credit card which has additional protection too.
Business › Re: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by pickabeau1: 6:33pm On Jul 15, 2014
CityNG: The typical ones are counterfeit items. They'll post a picture of the genuine article but ship a copy.

What I do is take pictures of the actual item as a seller and as a buyer I ask for same.
Nice i typically buy items in amazon stock or their certified sellers (some guys from Hong kong) which they now fulfill..

This is good information for me

i will take note

However i thought amazon acts as a middleman somewhat
Business › Re: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by pickabeau1: 5:36pm On Jul 15, 2014
Yes i know what you mean by duped

I just wanted to know examples of common dupes... say

I have not experienced such anyway

CityNG: Taken means getting duped.

Fraud occurs everywhere but the response of eBay/PayPal/amazon is the key.

If buyer is on the up and up, hasn't tried to game the system you'll get your money back.
Business › Re: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by pickabeau1: 4:55pm On Jul 15, 2014
madmanmega: Always stick to debit cards. With debit cards you can ask your bank to initiate a charge back and even thought it might take some time, like 3 months. You will get your money back. Bought a DSLR camera on amazon for some 2k plus dollars and the seller shipped empty water bottles. We filed to amazon and they said since we shipped our item to a freight forwarder (MyUs) there was nothing they could do since that was against their TOS. We went to zenith bank, collected charge back form filled it and forgot about it and some 3 months letter received alert for full refund.
Interesting pointers
Business › Re: My Bitter Experience Shopping On Ebay!!! by pickabeau1: 4:25pm On Jul 15, 2014
CityNG: I am in the USA, I love Craigslist. I make a good amount of money on Craigslist.

As in anything you have to be cognizance of your environment. People get taken on Amazon and eBay all the time.
Cool posts
Please can you explain the amazon part (Taken)

koyyes: Exactly! the chinese for example still value their culture and language even though they've embraced immense development that depicts a reasonable level of western influence. They wear suits when attending international conferences but that changes nothing. Even western countries have a high regard for them, their culture ,crafts and medicines. The world has become a global village so there is an exchange of cultures. It is inevitable! I don't just understand the message this canadian wanabe is trying to pass across-ridiculous!
Seems you guys have some past beef smiley

Culture issues tend to be subjective however

koyyes: Just read all his baseless, contradicting and meaningless comments! He's obviously the type that likes to see africans go backwards. To even think he lives in canada (living in a white man's land and using their inventions and facilities)just makes him the biggest hypocrite ever! What a nosy impostor!
Not sure i know much about him

However i do know that modern buldings can be improvised with cultural inspirations

In asia they use concrete and glass but u can still see the asian cultural tint

Fulaman198: Also, Messi really isn't a dribbler, he is just very fast, and people are afraid to touch him in fear of getting booked or in fear of him receiving a penalty kick. I think Boateng stopped him quite a few times yesterday. What I don't understand is why defenders or goalies never win this thing.
Oliver Kahn won
Cannavaro won.. I belive
