@Ababoy I'm quite sure nobody would have fainted if Nairaland had failed to come back online (despite what we may say on here), but this place ( I view it as a place instead of just a website) sure does feel like a big community/family and I quite like and missed the banter. |

Here's a better way. **Download the PPLive Program **On match day, Click on this Link to view the channel List (translated to Englsh) and then click on the channel you want to watch. You'd find it easier that way. The Channel showing the Nations Cup matches is : SHANGAI SPORTS and it's listed on either page 2/3/4. (On the bottom of the page, you'll see the page numbers). All the Nations Cup matches are Live. **Just Remember to turn off the volume unless you want to listen to the Chinese commentators. CCTV5 shows Italian and Spanish League Matches (Live) You can get Premier League Matches through ESPN (Asia) or some other channel. And lots more football and movies (Hollywood movies not Chinese) . Just look around if you've got the time. |
Web Market / Re: How To Advertise Your Website Without Spamming? by pie1ect(m): 10:25pm On Feb 03, 2006 |
bolaoni:@Bolaoni I hope I am reading your post wrongly, or else you may want to explain how "personal websites" are more popular than Blogs. And how do you get people to know your site or Blog? Isn't it all about PROMOTING IT? A personal website does not attract any more visitors than a Blog, if you don't advertise it. @Layi I beg to disagree on the google adwords thingy. I happened to have run an adwords campaign ( jointly with a friend) for just over six months and I can assure you, it cost nowhere near $10,000. The thing with Adwords is you shouldn't bother with it if you are not actually selling anything. Unless you've got too much money and feel like throwing some away. |
Sports / Re: Germany 2006: Who Will Win The World Cup? by pie1ect(m): 11:10pm On Jan 31, 2006 |
darqly:@Dargly If Ronaldinho did not score that goal, Brazil would still have won the macth anyway. And that goal was by no means a fluke-goal. The guy scored a few of those type of goals at PSG as well. How come he could replicate it if it was a fluke? Even when Brazil were down to ten men,in that match, England could not keep the ball for more than 2 min in a row. They do show a lot of promise, but they are just not **IT**. Brazil, Argentina, Holland, Italy and even Germany are still ahead of them in my WC ranking. I don't think England will even get to the Q/finals. Maybe I'll be forced to eat my words or maybe not. |

Sports / Re: Super Eagles Of Nigeria Vs. Senegal: 2 - 1! by pie1ect(m): 10:25pm On Jan 31, 2006 |
@Bagoma Honestly, I expected Ghana to lose today, by an even bigger margin. Those guys are the biggest chokers in football, it seems. My pal lost over 150 bucks today because he placed a bet on Ghana thrashing Zimbabwe (against my advice, I might add). God help Africa at the world cup. Respect for the character we showed today. I really liked the way we made Senegal look so ordinary in the final few minutes. But for over 70mins, I admit my heart was closer to my mouth than my chest. Well, I'm looking forward to a thriller when we meet the most over-rated African football team -->Tunisia. |

abuguy64: Yeah, the chinese does get in the way. Quite annoying really. An alternative is to visit project2046 or asiaplate (live schedule) and click on the "Play" or "watch" link on there. It automatically starts the channel (on WMP or Real). If you need more directions on how to use the thing, give me a shout. |
Sports / Re: What Station Is Showing African Cup Of Nations In The United States? by pie1ect(m): 6:02pm On Jan 31, 2006 |
If you've got a PC with internet connection, you can watch pretty much any significant football match on earth (live) for free. Just download PPlive and visit asiaplate or project2046 for match listings. It's that easy. The quality of the picture is not always the best but it is "FREE". Not to mention, you can get the very latest movies on your PC (Free) without breaching any rules/laws. BTW, the Nigeria-Senegal match is live on Shangai Sports (PPLive). |

Yeah, affiliates/associates programs is a great way to go. Also you could write your own e-books and sell (no shipping involved), or buy stuff with resell rights and sell them for 100% profit. Actually, there are loads of things you can do on the net, the potential is limitless. You don't have to go the way others are going. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Where Are All Arsenal Fans Who Said Chelsea Were A "flash In The Pan"??? by pie1ect(m): 5:04pm On Jan 14, 2006 |
*zzzzzzz... Retaining the title is not new, especially not to Arsenal. Even though chelsea are top of the league, it doesn't mean they play the best football. Wanna' watch flowing football? Watch Arsenal. I can understand chelsea fans who would rather see their team play military-football though, seeing as they are desperately short of any useful trophies. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Will Chelsea Win the 2005 UEFA Champions League? by pie1ect(m): 5:27am On Jan 14, 2006 |
pearlrocks:@pearlrocks That's exactly my point. You win just one league trophy and all of a sudden, you see yourselves as the god of football. You guys are always keen to put down the acheivements of AFC anytime an opportunity arises, but come to think of it: * before Abraham... took over at chelsea, where were you guys? * How many league trophies can you boast of in your entire history? I'll tell you.JUST TWO [2]. That's a laughable one [1] league trophy every fifty years. *How many trophies [league and non-league] can your club boast of? Just a measely eleven.3 of which are community shield. Compare that to Arsenal FC's THIRTY SEVEN [37] Trophies (including three back-to-back league titles. That's excluding the countless other times the club has reached major tournament finals. Una dey happy say una dey win against small boys like Fabregas and Senderos. When Vieira, Kanu and the rest were there, wetin make una no fit beat us for over ten years? If una wan make mouth for any club, you can do that with the likes of Fulham and Charlton. Even Tottenham has a better history than chelsea [I think]. @ Akolawole You know chelsea have been lucky on every occasion we've met this season. Even at that, we still managed to give a v.good account of ourselves with our weakened squad. |

I've been away from this section of nairaland for a while and it appears that in that time, more Arsenal-haters have reared their ugly heads. @Kaylala I think you need reminding what the term "loser" means: "someone who loses consistently", "a contestant who loses the contest "--> Manchester Utd. Now let me expantiate: * Which club has consistently finished behind Arsenal in the last 2/3 seasons? .......that's right,Manchester Utd. * which club has gone the last 2/3 seasons without a trophy? ......Manchester Utd. * which club crashed out in the group stages of the UCL having lost to the almighty Lille? .........Manchester Utd. *which club lost in the final of the FA CUP to ARSENAL? ........oh yes, Manchester Utd. Let's contrast that with the great Arsenal: * which one club has never been relegated from the top-flight? ........Arsenal of course. * which club has not finished out of the top two since 1997? ......Arsenal, of course. * which club was the first british side to progress past the group stages of the UCL? .....of course, that would be Arsenal * which club outlasted Manchester Utd. to win the last FA cup trophy? ......Arsenal, of course. * Which EPL club has won a trophy every other season (or at least gotten to a major final), over the last ten years? .......Arsenal FC. Need I go on? Just in case you need graphical illustration, here it is. Enjoy.

Adverts / The Science Of Getting Rich - Powerful 1910 Classic - Free! by pie1ect(m): 7:09pm On Jan 07, 2006 |
I just want to inform all Nairalanders (genuinely interested in creating your own wealth), about this free ebook I came across a few weeks back. It is a classic published in 1910 by Wallace D. Wattles. And you can download it for free at this website: scienceofgettingrich.net. And just so you know, it is in the public domain and as such, does not have any copyright issues surrounding it. It's very challenging and it could just be the right tonic for those people who have got great ideas but don't know what to do with it or don't think it could actually be worth a fortune. I can guarantee you that, because I've read it. You'll be doing yourself a disservice if you decide not to get it. Once again, it's FREE! ......did I mention that this book is totally FREE? Grab a copy today and unleash your potential. Good luck! |
Webmasters / Re: Starting Your Web Hosting Company? by pie1ect(m): 4:44pm On Jan 03, 2006 |
Brilliant topic Kazey. I would personally like to know what the hosting company's policy is on over-sellling. I think that's one issue most ressellers don't think about. Having said that, reselling can be very lucrative if one can find the right company. I would encourage Nigerians youths to give it a go. |

On the issue of long-distance relationships, I think this is a good case study. Not saying all LDRs end that way, but to be fore-warned is to be fore-armed. If your power no reach am, no decieve yourself. If you decide to do it, because "if others can do it, I can do it as well", God help you. |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Martins Vs Rooney, Who Is The Best??? by pie1ect(m): 3:27pm On Dec 30, 2005 |
Haha, I can never comprehend why people think Rooney is a great footballer/striker. If Martins was in the EPL, nobody will hear of Rooney, it's as simple as that. The same AC Milan that martins has scored several times against, even in the champion's league, Rooney could not do anything useful against ainst them last season. Martins consistently scores in the ITALIAN league, which is known for their rugged defending. This season, where has Rooney been while his team have been floundering about in Europe? As a striker, Rooney's record is not as good as Martins'. Check the stats for last season and even the one before that(if you wish). The buzz around Rooney is simply HYPE(thanks to the monster manifested as the English media) and for me, it's really SICKENING. If Rooney was at Inter, trust me,that guy for dey warm bench steadily. Martins was consistently benching Recoba, cruz, even Vieri. These are guys are quality players on their day. Who did Rooney displace at Man Utd? He practically walked into a team that had a gaping hole in that position, he never had to fight for a place, unlike Martins. Bottom-line-->Martins is so much more better than Rooney. |

Sports / Re: Bravo King Kanu ! by pie1ect(m): 3:15am On Dec 30, 2005 |
Of course, he is a great footballer and on his day, there are very few players in the world who are better, technique-wise. All West Brom fans are scared of him leaving for the ACN as he's actually been their top player this season. The problem I've got with Kanu is: he's not consistent. Hopefully, he'll be back to his best form and take that into the nations cup, because we need him to be in top form. |
