Well, I think Arsenal have a very good chance in this year's CL. At least, this season we are unbeaten so far in Europe. grin
To all chelsea fans, I say wait until you meet the almighty Liverpool (remember last season?)
That's if you're lucky not to have been dumped out before then, with your drab style.
Sports / Re: FIFA: WHO WILL WIN ? by pie1ect(m): 3:09am On Dec 03, 2005
Well, let's see.

Ronaldinho : already has it in the bag. Best player in the world, bar none.

Eto'o: For me, last season he was the best striker in Europe behind Henry. This season, definitely the best striker in Europe, Henry second.

Lampard: Wetin I go talk wey no go sound like quarrel to chelsea fans?
Anyway, bite me if you like. Lamard does not belong on a top-three footballer list. Hell, even among midfeilders, the guy no follow for top 5. Xavi(Barca), Pirlo, Ballack, Kaka and Gerard are all better than this guy. Hell, Makalele don simply make this guy look like a world-beater, but he aint one. The fellow goes missing at crunch-time during games and cannot control a mid-feild (watch England matches). How the guy take enter that list, I cannot understand. Ballack won as many titles last season, Kaka and Pirlo got to the final of the CL and if not that freak Liverpool resurgence, they'd be champions of Europe, but they no even feature. Henry, top scorer for last 2/3 seasons running, no even feature. If a chelsea player deserves to be on that list it's got to be Cech or Makalele. The guy don benefit from the greatest and most biased media on planet earth. Those BBC and SS guys should win awards for HYPE. It's what gotten Lampard on that list, nothing else.

Nope, it's gonna be Arsenal V Barcelona;
Just can't wait to see Henry V Ronaldinho and Henry V Eto'O.
Seeing as both teams rely more on attack, Arsenal to win 7-6 (in open play,90mins).

My brother, you definitely come across as someone who is deeply hurt. And note, I'm talking in the present.
My advice to you is :take a break from women, take a holiday or summin', go have some fun on your own and re-evaluate your situation. I think you'll find things are not as bad as they look. Imagine you married the first lady, and then later found out she was screwing a friend, you would have been more devastated than you are currently.
Try reading the following books, they might help:

1. How to Heal a Broken Heart in 30 Days : A Day-by-Day Guide to Saying Good-bye and Getting On With Your Life by Howard    Bronson;
2. Letting Go: A 12-Week Personal Action Program to Overcome a Broken Heart by Dr. Tracy Cabot;
3. How to Break Your Addiction to a Person by Howard Harlpen.

Goodluck Bro, and make sure the next lady is worth the trouble wink

@nddy, 14 dating a 42yo? And I assume the Maury show is a nigerian tv show?
Should it become a trend then and be encouraged?
Haba, girls that age( 12-16) have what he is looking for as well and remember say na one of us we dey talk about here, not some yank or britico,as it were.
hmmm.........I can imagine the breaking-up scene.........
Men, give it a frigging rest. We keep talking about how the boy will feel. Nobody is talking about how the 21 yo girl will feel after she is dumped by a 16yo boy or after she is impregnated by the guy(worstcase scenario), who of course will deny any knowledge of anything. I taya for una sef oo. If una dey advice person, take de person wey need advice into consideration as well.

Snazz, abeg no follow all these guys wey dey advice you to consider it if you like him.  Child abuse is child abuse, whether perpetuated by a lady or guy. If to say na advanced country you dey and the matter reach police, na you go be the culprit not the 16yo guy( who of course will be considered a victim). Hell, if to say na guy of 21 dey gist 16yo girl, we for dey shout. Abeg, drop that guy sharply.......how you do it is up to you. This is one situation in which your actions will have to speak louder than your words.
Girl, na your show.

For Heaven's sake, are the guys on here trying to promote child abuse? Or does it not apply to Nigeria?
Let's face up to reality men, and drop the feeling/self-esteem act. This guy is a minor, and he should be treated as one, end-of-story. FFS, he's got to learn a few things the hard way.
Politics / Re: Inspector-General Tafa Balogun Convicted: Jailed For Six Months by pie1ect(m): 1:14am On Nov 30, 2005
@ Akolawole
You seem to be taking this guy's offence with a pinch of salt.
Let me put it into context for you.Tafa Balogun was the "I-G of our country's police force and as such was in charge of the nation's premier security apparatus. His actions defnitely had adverse effects (pages 42/43)   on the police force and that amounts to undermining the nation's security. During his tenure, Nigeria lost some prominent figures, ala Bola Ige, Harry Marshall, to name a few. It was also during his tenure that the Anambra saga began. The Anambra issue ultimately led to the death of AIG Raphael Ige( who was the unfortunate pawn  to be sacrificed). At the same time, we had different organisations going on strike for one reason or another(mainly because of cash-strap), while the man took pleasure in scraping whatever he could.
He deserves nothing less than 40 years in Kirikiri prisons, instead he gets 6 months less 67 days. Just imagine that our country would still have the services of these great men to call on, when needed, if we had a useful police force at the time. Instead, more than 3 years after their assasinations, Nigerians don't even know if the case is still on file. I fear the way we are heading if some Nigerians cannot see that this ruling is indeed an insult on Nigeria and Nigerians, in fact.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Will Chelsea Win the 2005 UEFA Champions League? by pie1ect(m): 11:58pm On Nov 29, 2005
Can Chelsea win the champion's league?----Hell, yes
Will they win it...........Hell, No.
Arsenal will (I hope). Anyways, chelsea look like they've got it in the bag but my friend, it's football and regardless of what Mourinho says, who go win, go win.
Goodluck for the rest of the season, but don't say I told you so, when you guys finish second.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: What Arsene Wenger Needs to Do by pie1ect(m): 11:50pm On Nov 29, 2005
Kola,
Don't go ohhhh. Do you get wound up that easily?
It's what fans do. They try to wind up opposing fans. Of course, Chelsea are better than Bolton and Charlton. They are of course, the top team in the premier league. That said, I find it boring watching English football in general(apart from Arsenal, that is). Chelsea, play a very English-style, and as such, I don't enjoy watching them. That doesn't mean they are no good. If they weren't, they'd be bottom of the league or sharing the position as Newcastle.
How I'd like to see that happen wink
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: What Arsene Wenger Needs to Do by pie1ect(m): 2:21pm On Nov 29, 2005
Rubbish football, relative to the hype they currently enjoy. They are touted as the "best" in Europe but when you compare the quality of football to say Barcelona's or even Lyon's, chelsea's football is crap. No better than Charlton or Bolton.
Sports / Re: Best Finisher: Obafemi Martins, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, or Julius Aghahowa? by pie1ect(m): 1:00am On Nov 29, 2005
Messi.
I see Messi on TV every other week and that's probably influenced my decision. Obi is a super-talented player(for his age) but he seems hell-bent on throwing his great future in the bin, so good-luck to him.
@ Owen
If Obafemi played in the EPL, he would be among the top-scorers every season because he's as fast as any player out there. It seems the only thing required to play in England is speed and strength( things Martins has in abundance).

True talk. It Strange how most chelsea fans (especially the ones in England) have lost touch with reality.Despite the fact that theyve won just 2 league trophies in their 100 years history , they see themselves as the greatest team in Europe.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: What Arsene Wenger Needs to Do by pie1ect(m): 12:14am On Nov 29, 2005
I think all this hype that surrounds chelsea at the moment, makes the fans believe they've got something others don't have.
I'll be watching mourinho's face closely this season as things fall apart at the bridge.
I think you'll find that the F.A cup was won by Arsenal, last seaon.
On that CL game, you did not play better. You only defended better. Both teams were even. Chelsea have a great squad but play rubbish football, and that can only take you so far. At some point, their style will find them out.
Romance / Re: 16 year old Friend of My Brother Asking Me Out (I'm 21) by pie1ect(m): 11:49pm On Nov 28, 2005
Are you being serious nddy?
We are talking about a 16years old boy here!! If he was say, 19 asking a 25 years old girl  to be his babe, I don't think that will be too out-of-place. He's probably just gotten into SS3 and is feeling on top of the world. Guy, in an ideal world, maybe the right thing would be to have a chit-chat with him and let him see reason. But in the real-world, my friend, it does not work that way. It has happened with me before(with a 13 years old girl), and I can confirm that "explaining things to him/her" DOES NOT work. They need something to rouse them from their dream. Did it even occur to you that, that kind of relationship will amount to child-abuse?

Funny. V. funny
Having seen a few of your previous posts (especially the "small talk" with dbanj), I can see how this would be very easy for you to execute.
@Seun
It's not wickedness. It'll help him get his priorities right.
In any case, before he approaches another lady (or girl for that matter), he'll weigh the pros and cons.

True talk my sister, or better still,slap his left mouth angry.
Seriously, What the hell are small kids thinking these days? And what's up with his "self-esteem"? For pete's sake, unless you are beginning to think about it, give the guy a piece of your mind and let him know where he stands once and for-all.  I'm sure your 16-years old bro. has enough respect for his big sis. to know not to encourage his friend (if he knows anything about it).

I don't get it when people say age is a matter of numbers. In what way is 20 years age-difference a matter of numbers?
Help me out here. In that case, we could have 70 years old women marrying 20years old guys, afterall it's a matter of numbers.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: What Arsene Wenger Needs to Do by pie1ect(m): 6:17pm On Nov 27, 2005
Hahaha grin
The day Chelski dominate a match against Arsenal, that day should be declared as a national holiday. At the bridge, even without our first team, you needed the most rubbish goal in history (from Drogba's knee) to secure three points for you. And I think we did you guys a favour leaving the charity sheild for you, as there's an acute shortage of trophies in the chelski trophy room. What amazes me about chelski is how they cannot produce quality football, despite having having spent over £150million in the space of 3 years. Mourinho buys these quality footballers and makes them play long-ball. Very boring indeed.
You win matches by sheer determination, commitment and hard-work, as such I don't regard you as a top team unfortunately.
And about Vieira, I think we are no longer missing him. Have a look at the league table. Arsenal are secon right now.

It just doesn't sound right to me. 20 years? what the hell!! - 5 years or + 9 months (either way of my age) is the limit for me. If you guys happened to get married, I think at some stage, communication will become strained between both of you, because those those human characteristics which tend to be influenced by age will start setting in and you can't relate on the same level anymore. Where do you go from there? shocked
Literature / Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - Book 6 by pie1ect(m): 2:55pm On Nov 26, 2005
@Seun,
Everything is well set up for a terrific Book 7. And I won't find it funny if it is anything less than that.
What I find slightly odd is: 1). Dumbledore begged for his life when Snape was about to kill him ( note: Dumbledore will never do that under normal circumstances). And remember, there was no threat to Harry. Another thing is: who got to the Horcux(Salazar Slytherin's locket) before Harry and Dumbledore and placed the potion there?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: What Arsene Wenger Needs to Do by pie1ect(m): 2:08pm On Nov 26, 2005
Hey Kola, are you a Chelsea fan?
No wonder. Of course, I see Chelsea dropping a few more points. Man Utd, Liverpool, blackburn, and any other fluke results. They will soon be out of the CL and FA cup, mark my words.
I know Chelsea seem to be running away with it right now. But remember Arsenal last season? They blitzed everybody at the beginning but fell short when it mattered. I hope the same thing happens to Jose Mourinho and his boys.
About the style of play, I would rather watch Lyon or this fake real madrid team than bore myself to sleep watching chelsea. Chelsea, after having spent a fortune recruiting, do not seem to know how to produce good football consistently.
I guess the END justifies the MEANS, anyway.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: What Arsene Wenger Needs to Do by pie1ect(m): 11:15pm On Nov 25, 2005
Yeah, I know this ranks as our worst start to a premiership season. I think its about the confidence which was lacking at the beginning of the season. Vieira just left and Wenger refused to bring anyone in. That created an atmosphere of uncertainty among the pleyers. But things are getting back to normal now, and you'll see our true colours as the season plays out.
Yeah the league cup along with the league and CL trophies won't be bad at all wink.
BTW, who do you support?
