Politics / B-r-e-a-k-i-n-gnews!new PDP Or Rebel PDP Group Isnow History - Gov Aliyu Babangi by pigin: 7:52pm On Dec 12, 2013
*the group according to the court ruling and INEC is illegal.Niger State Governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, has stated that the factional Peoples Democratic Party (New PDP) is history, adding that the faction “has come and gone.”Aliyu described the emergence of the New PDP as a struggle for democracy within the party. The governor, who spoke in Minna yesterday when he received national officials of the Nigeria Medical Association(NMA) and the Niger State Working Committee of the PDP who paid him a solidarity visit at government house, said without such struggle in the party, things would not go well.“New PDP has come and gone itwas as a result of internal struggle for reform. If you don’thave internal democracy then things will not go on well.”Aliyu said because of the court action which declared the group illegal and the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission )INEC), he had to respect the court's decision. The governor further stated that the struggle for the reform of the party would continue, adding that “no matter where you are, there is always room for improvement.”He accused some members of the party in the state of trying to use illegal means to take over the administrative machinery of the PDP, saying that the party leadership in the state had been operating as one family therefore it cannot be hijacked
Politics / Re: A Reverse Driver Called Ebele by pigin: 6:00pm On Dec 12, 2013
@Op, this your article channel em to your people and not Ebele.on AIT i heard Prof Nebo, Power minister talk about GAS SUPPLY PIPELINES bombed, just to frustrate the current gradual efforts to improve power supply. In his own words, the gas supply line which transports needed gas inputs to the western location of NIPPs and PHCN Facilities were vandalized with explosives, reducing supply by about 1,000mw. While the repairs on that was going on, the Eastern line supply to Afam was also bombed, shutting down Afam’scapabilities to supply power. Now gas cannot be ”stolen” by vandalizing pipelines, thus this is clear attempt at rubbishing GEJ’s humble efforts at fulfillinghis electoral promises. This threat of making Nigeria ungovernable for Jonathan or any other southerner in govt has taken a new dimension since BOKO HARAM has failed to convince Nigerians that Jonathan cannot guarantee security. One of the latest dimensions is to carry the fight into his SouthSouth territory using, WILLING TOOLS, as sworn since the early 1960s, to ensure we remain slaves to feudalists. Now the same people who couldn’t mobilize to protest BOKO HARAM are mobilizing tocome to the Niger Delta to protest (on behalf of the Niger Deltans?) on perceived threats to democracy? The two vandals in this pix were caught in OGUN STATE some weeks ago by men of the NSCDC attempting to derail raillines meant for moving people and goods to the north from the west. Obviously, these activities should be termed TRANSFORMATION HARAM.Some weeks later, someone leftan abandoned truck at a rail crossing in Kaduna state for the incoming Lago-Kano train revived after almost 40 years byGEJ, to ram into. Fortunately, no lives were lost.It is sheer cowardice to includeeconomic sabotage in your attempt to rubbish GEJ’s effortswhich has in just 2 years achieved lots of pass marks, just because some power-hungry folks want to justify the contrary.YOU HAVE FAILED BECAUSE THIS IS INFORMATION AGE AND NOT THE 80s…Governors, LGA chairmen and councillors were sworn in to utilize monthly billions of nairafor the good of the people and not for the good of their selfishcraves. We are aware of the opposing forces antics. PULL HIM DOWN BY ALL MEANS WILL FAIL

Politics / BIG TROULE: Five Lawmakers To Impeach Amaechi by pigin: 8:36am On Dec 12, 2013
Reminiscent of the July 9 fracas on the floor of Rivers State House of Assembly, Port Harcourt, the dissident 6 lawmakers opposed to GovernorRotimi Amaechi with the barkingof powerful forces in Abuja are set to sit to begin impeachment proceedings against governor. It was learnt last night that the impeachment was not targeted at only Amaechi, who is the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), his deputy, Tele Ikuru, is also to be removed. The sitting will be presided over by a crony of First Lady Patience Jonathan and the self-acclaimed Speaker of the Rivers Assembly, Evans Bipi, who represents Ogu/Bolo Constituency, and according to investigation, he will be made the acting governor, after removing Amaechi and and his deputy. This is crazy! The anti-Amaechi lawmakers, to be backed by policemen and theArmed Forces, will first declare vacant the seats of the 25 legislators loyal to the NGF chairman and to be accused of defecting to the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).The lawmakers loyal to the Presidency and the acting Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, are Bipi, Michael Okechukwu Chinda (Obio/Akpor II constituency), Kelechi Godspower Nwogu (Omuma), Martins Amaewhule (Obio/AkporI), Victor Ihunwo (Port Harcourt III) and Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani, the Chief Whip (Andoni). The anti-Amaechi legislators are basing their decision to sit todayon yesterday’s judgement of the Federal High Court (FHC), Abuja, presided over by Justice Ahmed Mohammed, which declared as unconstitutional, the taking overof the Rivers House of Assembly by the National Assembly. The Deputy Speaker of the Rivers Assembly, Leyii Kwanee, alawyer, however, said that Amachree remained the Speakerof the Assembly, stressing that illegality, impunity and lawlessness would not be condoned.Kwanee assured that the 25 lawmakers would soon sit, but there must be adequate security, to prevent a repeat of July 9 and 10 fracas and confrontation in the Rivers Assembly.source : Nigeriaonpoint News

But, alas the mass defection of PDP members to PDP members to APC including almost all political holders. Despite their intimidation with Police and the rest. Most of the Governors loyalist have embraced APC with all happiness.

Tukur was send to destroy PDP and he is doing that with the support of Mr. President.

Politics / Why Jonathan Didn’t Speak At Mandela’s Service – Presidency by pigin: 10:54am On Dec 11, 2013
By Soni Daniel, Regional Editor, a NorthThe Presidency last night rose in defence of President Goodluck Jonathan for not speaking at the memorial service in honour of the former South African leader, Nelson Mandela in South Africa. The President had come under serious condemnation by critics in the social media, who wondered why he went to Johannesburg in the first place without rendering an oration in honour of Madiba as other worldleaders did.But Presidential Spokesman, Dr Reuben Abating, dismissed the attacks on the President as a classic case of much ado about nothing, as Jonathan was not billed to speak at the ceremony in the first place.According to Abati, only six out of the 100 world leaders at the event, were slated to speak and Jonathan was not one of those chosen to render any speech.“The late Madiba’s burial is not a United Nations Debating session. It is what it is a burial: a solemn, national ceremony,” Abati said.” Leaders from all over the world attended the Memorial Service topay their last respects and to identify with South Africans in their hour of grief. It was certainly not meant to be an occasion for political grandstanding or the waving of flags.“Out of about 100 world leaders who attended the event today, only six spoke at the ceremony. Itwas made clear at the occasion that the Chairman of the AU Commission, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will speak on behalf of African leaders. And she did.“I do not agree that Nigeria was insulted in any way. It was good that President Jonathan attendedthe Memorial service and that Nigeria is in solidarity with the South Africans.“If every leader who attended theservice had been asked to say a word, the event would not have ended. There were many other leaders at the event, whose countries have strong historical and political ties with South Africa, but who did not speak.“I have not heard their compatriots crying like babies. This is obviously a further indication of a rising, minority tendency to read the negative into every official item,”Abati said. www.vanguardngr.com/2013/12/jonathan-didnt-speak-mandelas-service-presidency/

arcbabe: The former nakoss president Daniel Enemali is the cause of student not receiving their bursury and I personally told him that, can you imagine the last one they paid was 3,500 meanwhile they wrote 4,000 on the pay slip. Where did the remaining #500 go to? The former SUG president Ebije was fighting for the rights of student but they didn't appreciate it and because some people who weren't opportuned to steal money got angry, they lied against him and he was removed. See I can categorically tell you that some students know their rights in ksu and am one of them but majority of ksu student are hungry students who are easily bribed with money. No be the same una chose Micah as SUG president, what has he done ever since he was elected? All he knows how to do is to rant on facebook. Smh!!!
Yea you have said em all, now i see reasons with those people agitating for Sug top post.i.e. president to be rotated among the different ethic groups in kogi state, wait don't stone me yet I'm an Igala. This is what you get when you vote for clueless people as Sug exco, if we continue voting for ethinicity relegating credibility and personality because the person is not from a particular group, that means we are loosing it. Used to remember when Ksu was a formidable force to recognd with not until this current dispensation came into being ca rousing up and down with the name and integrity of our school at stake. Imagining #3500k as bursary, and the mgt are still canvassing for an increment of school fees to over 100k. knowing fully well kogi state is among the less develop state with high rate of poverty chopping people, and the Sug exco are not saying anything.. Education / ASUU President Promised Ministerial Postby Opposition:ex Lawmaker Alleges by pigin: 10:35am On Dec 06, 2013
A second republic Senator, Chris Ukpabi has alleged that the ASUU National President, Dr Nasir Fagge has deliberately frustrated the resolution of the ASUU strike because of the promise by the opposition to appoint him as a Minister if he succeeds in pulling down the Jonathan administration.ASUU President, Dr Nasir Fagge had on Monday denied that his actions were being sponsored by the opposition APC.Senator Ukpabi told journalists that his position was borne out of investigations and intelligence reports. He said that this promise has informed the stubborn approach of the ASUU National President, who has distorted all investments by President Jonathan to resolve the crisis. Also in another interview, former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Baba Gana accused also of lack of patriotism, saying that the strike is no longer sustainable. He said that under no condition should ASUU allow the strike to last beyond December because there are no other issues sustaining the strike.source 24/7 Nigeria news update
