Just watching the movie Sixty 6. It's about a boy who is hoping England fails to reach the 1966 World Cup final all because the final falls on the same day as his Bar Mitzvah and obviously no one will be attending because they will be watching the game

The boy develops an obsession about England not reaching the final at all costs From casting a spell on Bobby Charlton using black magic grin to praying Bobby Moore gets diarrhea and the English players get their legs broken before the second game against France in Mass.

Nice bit of football education by the way. I've learned a few things.

Someone needs to tell Ribery ball travels faster than man. All these needless dribbles when a simple pass would do.

JK taking out 2 Hertha players and the referee all in one sliding tackle grin grin

We are still down by 2. Muller and Gnabry on for Robben and Sanches.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by pkasso(m): 8:27pm On Sep 28, 2018
To be fair, Ribery has been our best player in this first half. He has been trying his best to make things happen but the final ball is just lacking. James needs to get into the game more.

Kimmich and Alaba need to get more crosses into the box. Lewy has been starved of service.

Hertha have been very impressive so far. This was always going to be a banana peel. We have not won our last 3 games at this stadium and coupled with Hertha's great start to the season, we are in for a tough night.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by pkasso(m): 7:59pm On Sep 28, 2018
1-nil to Hertha.

Boateng is a phenomenal doofus for conceding that PK. He had no reason to go in for that tackle.

Ribery now ruining what would have been a wonderful equalizer by JK with a stupid deflection. This game no be play o.

As in. . I no just understand. When i saw Goretzka playing LB in the first half, I couldn't believe my eyes. There was no creativity in midfield. Most of the chances we created were from bursting runs from deep. I've been very cautious despite the favourable results and this game shows there is still work to be done.

I understand the need to rotate the squad with the heavy schedule coming up but I feel Kovac should have started some of the big boys first and then sub them off when the game was in the bag.

We were too wasteful today. Sanches was the biggest culprit. Kovac needs to lock him up in a room and make him practise shooting for no less than 5 hours. Wagner was anonymous. Gnabry was the only one who impressed a little.

Neuer shouldn't still be making such errors. Though you could argue the foul on Martinez should have been called instead of the corner. Strange enough, I was so confident we were going to concede the moment the corner was given. You know that kinda thing. Corner gets wrongly given and the other team capitalises.

Muller was the worst player on the pitch today for him. He just couldn't do anything right. His crosses were terrible. He has been serving shyte the past couple of games and needs some time on the bench.

If that was the case, Sneidjer or Iniesta should have won the award in 2010. Diego Forlan should also have made the top 3 by virtue of winning the Golden Ball.

Neuer won the World Cup in 2014, was voted the best goalkeeper but could only make the podium. Messi was a World Cup finalist, won the Golden Ball and ended up finishing second to Ronaldo whose team couldn't even make it out of the group stage.

Hazard deserve to be there. Remember this is World Cup year and he performed excellently
He performed well at the World Cup but he had an average season with Chelsea by his standards.

The World Cup, while the biggest competition in the world is just 7 rounds max over a period of one month. I don't think it's an accurate representation of what truly happens over the course of the season. Anybody can hit form and shine over a short period of time. If na by that one, we suppose dey mention Cheryshev sef. It could have swung the debate in favor of Hazard if their performances over the season were close but on this case, KDB clearly trumped Hazard.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by pkasso(m): 1:31am On Sep 25, 2018
FIFA should just scrap this shyte of an award show. It's all just one big joke. The Ballon D'or has more credibility.

I still don't understand how Salah missed out on the FifPro XI. Dani Alves making the Fifpro XI year in year out has to be the running football gag of all time. Maybe the guy get some serious stuff on those guys at FIFA grin. Let me not even get into the Puskas award.

Hazard should not be in the first team, in my opinion. This is more ridiculous by the attempt to shoehorn him into midfield when he's clearly an attacker. Mbappe sef na Team 2.

Na my own FifPro XI be this:

Oblak; Kimmich, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo; Kante, Modric, KDB; Messi, Ronaldo, Salah

@hopefulLandlord, told you if we were competitive last year, Barca wouldn't have the smooth ride they had to the title.

BTW, congrats in advance to LM10 for the FIFA Best award. Think Varane should win best defender for the same reason.

-Lord
While I do agree Modric would be a worthy winner of The FIFA's Best award, I'm not so sold on Varane being the best defender. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he is not good. On the other hand, I rate him as a top CB. I just feel his performances were not spectacular enough. He was always second behind Ramos and he wasn't heads and shoulders above Umtiti in France's World Cup winning campaign. I daresay he wouldn't make the Top 5 if we were to look at best performers for Real and France respectively.

He was solid though and a place in the FifPro XI would be well merited.

James really effed up today despite the goal. He should have had a hattrick. That sitter is surely one of the greatest of all time.
I don't know if it's me but Goretzka's passing looks suspect. It's something he needs to work won.
And what's with Hummels and the pink boots grin I think i saw Naldo wearing the same. CBs now wearing pink boots, footballers' gone soft, mehn! grin grin

I respectfully disagree with your post.

The last time we watched Sane was the 2nd half/ conclusion of last season where he not only featured but was integral to the attack of the title winning side. He started most of the games. For some reason, Low backed by the German FA chose to exclude him from the World Cup, despite an exceptional season in the league.

Furthermore, you are very very wrong about the reason why he was excluded from the National team. I follow the German team closely and It had absolutely nothing to do with his attitude but Low's tactics and the German FA's preference for experience. J. Low chose J. Brandt over Sane because he provided cover for the wing back (LB/RB) and nothing about his indifference. Draxler and Reus are more experienced and while it was disappointing, it was no news that they would be picked ahead of Sane because that is what Germany prioritizes. Germany returned 9 players from the 2014 world cup in Brazil and over 10 from the Euro's, that tells you how the German's operate when it comes to big competitions.

Next was the pre season where he was an absolute beast. He did not start any game until game 5 of the EPL against Fulham where he opened scoring. Prior to that he did not appear in the team sheet in game 3 I think because of course he was not playing. Players like Mahrez and Bernado Silva have started games ahead of Sane.

Today we saw him in the UCL and even though he did not start, he came in and provided an assist.

So where exactly has his standard fallen since last season? Where have you watched him play since last season? Do you expect him to be happy he is not playing?
No one is disputing the fact that Sane deserved to make the World Cup squad on merit. And I never said his attitude was the main reason why he was dropped, I said it was a contributing factor.

You might want to read what Toni Kroos had to say about Sane during the international break:

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45426091

And about him being an absolute beast in preseason, you are absolutely wrong. He had a terrible one. Even in the Community Shield game against Chelsea, he looked out of sorts and was rightfully taken off at halftime. Here is Pep complaining after a preseason game against Liverpool:

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11449100/pep-guardiola-says-leroy-sane-is-far-away-from-his-best-form-despite-scoring-in-liverpool-defeat

So you see, that was a warning. One he clearly didn't heed.

He has looked better in recent weeks though. When he was brought on against France in a Nations League game, I saw the intensity and a willingness to impress. He had only about 10 mins, but i made a mental note of that. He also looked sharp against Fulham so maybe Pep is finally getting across to him.

I just feel you are overreacting grin and with time, everything will come back to normal. The season is long and Sane still has a big part to play for Man City.

I am just going to watch and gloat as the British media drag him to the gutters if this result holds. I don't understand his problem with the kid and you can not motivate a young player with such methods. Sane suffered the same treatment earlier last season before he enjoyed a long run during the second half of the season.

I have maintained that he should sell Sane, better still Sane should open up about leaving City. He deserves to be playing 90 mins.
I think you are being a little bit sentimental about this. I know you like Sane but even you can't deny he's been below par. There is nothing wrong with a bit of tough love to get him back on track. Pep demands nothing but the very best from his players and Sane has let his standards slip. There has always been that worry about his laxity and nonchalance and that in a way has contributed to his inability to secure a starting shirt in the German national team.

Pep has a number of options on the wings and it's only normal that Sane sits out a few games. At least until he proves he is ready.

I'm sure no one is surprised Neymar1095 failed to show up after his man crush's disappointing performance yesterday. Dude would have flooded the thread with his stolen tweets and rubbish about how fantastic his idol was. Only that it did not happen.

Neymar really let his biggest supporters down with that shitty display. I've seen a couple of his games in the league this season and I've not been impressed. Yes, he's scored a few goals but I had always felt he struggled to leave his mark on games. Goals aside, his overall performances were average. I only just put it down to him just being disinterested or maybe he was saving his best for the CL. Now i know.

This was supposed to be the big stage for him to deliver but like against Real last season, he flattered to deceive. He didn't even flatter at all. He was so atrocious, it got to a point I started to wonder if he was really on the pitch. And he wants to win the Ballon D'or playing like this. Good luck with that! The so called 'assist' sef was a shot blocked by VVD which rebounded for Mbappe to score.

I think we need to revisit this Neymar-Hazard debate. I used to believe Neymar was the better player but i'm beginning to have second thoughts: Neymar might not actually be the better player. I'm actually starting to think he is overrated.

If it was Hazard who put in that disgraceful display, a certain person on this board would have torn him to shreds. PSG have been maga'ed big time. They should just ask for a refund from Barca cos there is no way this man is going to lead them to CL glory. They might as well just sell him to Real and build the team around Mbappe.

So for me, I say

Hazard >= Neymar cheesy

Well. . . With the Champions League making a return today, i've decided to add one more as bonus grin

Juventus vs Young Boys grin

Ever wondered what it would look like if a team of old ladies took on a group of young boys in a game of football? Well, here is your chance to see something similar or so.

Juventus, fondly known as the Old Lady of Turin are Champions League veterans with plenty of experience under their belt. They take on the team from Switzerland who are playing in the competition for the very first time. Will experience carry the day or will youth and naivety pull an upset?
