Christianity Etc › Re: Characteristics Of True And False Disciples by plappville(op): 5:26pm On Dec 07, 2011
So then we see the tremendous test of obedience here. It didn't really make a lot of sense for Christ to send them away by themselves. Perhaps they didn't understand why He sent them away not being able to read the mind of the mob, not being able to understand what they were thinking and what they were plotting. And so when Christ said to them go away, it may have been a little bit mysterious but they obeyed. It may have been more mysterious as to why He sent them and didn't come Himself, why He sent them away and went away up into a mountain. How was He going to get across, there weren't any more boats? Why didn't Christ go with them and why did He send them away?

Well, the Bible doesn't say they fussed with the questions, the Bible says they just obeyed. And here you meet the first tremendous characteristic of real discipleship. Real discipleship is founded, now watch it, founded on an unquestioning, unhesitating trust and obedience. It's not a matter of "Why, God?", it's a matter of "Yes, God!" It's not a matter of, "I don't understand it," it's a matter of, "I will do it." It's a matter of not my will, but Thine be done, mysterious though it be. And even in an obedience of ignorance, and I like to think rather than ignorance it was an obedience of trust, these disciples moved away from Christ alone into the twilight sea, not understanding. And that is the crux of discipleship, obedience that asks no questions, obedience that expects no explanation, a blind believing obedience.

The first time I ever preached in this church, long time ago, I told you a story about a missionary that is perhaps the greatest illustration of obedience in my recollection. John Payton was his name and he was a young student in England. And he didn't exactly know where God wanted him to go but he felt a call to the mission field and he was a student in seminary at the time. He's just recently been married. And God began to lead him in the area of the New Hebrides islands and the New Hebrides islands were inhabited by man-eating cannibals. And in those days it was a severe test of a man to go to the mission field.

All right, get the picture. He has sent the disciples across in the little boat. He has dismissed the crowd. There are no boats left for them to take, assuming they're to walk back to where they began. He takes off into a mountain to pray. And with that we come to verse 16 and the character of real disciples. And there are three characteristics of real disciples here in this account, verses 16 to 21. They are obedient, watch this, they are Christ-centered, and they are true worshipers. They are obedient, they are Christ-centered and true worshipers and we'll see this as we look at the passage.

First of all we shall see that the true disciple is obedient, verse 16. "And when evening was now come, His disciples went down unto the sea." And as I said, Matthew and Mark told us that Christ told them to go there. "They entered into a boat and they went over the sea toward Capernaum and it was now dark and Jesus was not come to them."

Now the disciples have been ordered by Christ to get in a boat and leave to proceed across the Sea of Galilee toward Capernaum, the northwestern shore, and so they did, complete obedience. It also notes for us in verse 16 that it was evening and in the Jewish thinking there were two evenings. The first evening was three o'clock to six o'clock. The second evening was six o'clock to dark and this is the second evening. And so it is nearly dark. They enter into a little boat and they begin the journey across the five-mile journey from where they were to Capernaum.

Now notice the end of verse 17 gives a little note. It says, "Jesus was not come to them." Why does it say that? Well because John knew that soon Jesus would come to them, walking on the water. And the reason John knew it because John's writing this about sixty some years after it happened. And reflecting back he knew this had happened before Christ came. Also, John wrote about 95 A.D., Matthew and Mark both wrote the same account about 50 A.D., so 45 years earlier this had already been told by Matthew and Mark and John knows his readers will already have read it in Matthew and Mark's gospels so he adds this little note just to put it in perspective and says it was now dark and Jesus was not come to them yet. Christ hadn't gotten there.

And we use Jesus.

Just for a second, examine your own heart. It may just be that you love Jesus for what He does or can do for you. And when He comes with demands, we're resentful and hostile to this demanding, disturbing Jesus. That could have been the attitude of these people, and it was. That's exactly where they stood. They only wanted Him for what they could get out of Him. And I'm sure if Jesus had said, "Listen, I'm going here, follow Me." They would have flocked after Him because He was getting them what they wanted. But instead Christ says, "Get away, I don't want you anymore, I want to be rid of you," and He sent the crowd away. Matthew and Mark both tell us He dismissed them and said, "Go away." Jesus Christ never commits Himself to thrill seekers, He never commits Himself to the false disciple. He said, "You leave," and then He went up into a mountain alone to pray to God. Matthew and Mark tell us He went there to pray alone.

Now why did He go away? Well He knew He had to escape the plot of the mob. He knew they were going to try to take Him by force so He told them to go away and He went into a mountain by Himself. Now before He went into the mountain, He did something else. He's told His disciples, Matthew and Mark both tell us this in the parallel account, He told His disciples to get into a boat and go back to Capernaum across the northern edge toward the western shore, the Sea of Galilee. "Get into the boat and leave." Sent the disciples away and went into a mountain and sent the multitude away. Now He knew He had to get away from the mob and He also knew the disciples had to get away from the mob because it would have been very easy for the disciples to become involved in the carnal enthusiasm of that crowd and to get stirred up on this idea of forcing Christ to do something. And so He just says, "Disciples, leave." He put them away so the influence wasn't there. Then He said, "Crowd, you're dismissed, too," and He told them to leave. And then He went up into a mountain to pray to God.

Now the results following that are in verses 16 to 29. Now in these two passages and they're really two, through verse 21, and then a new account in verse 22 to 29, but in these two sections after Christ has sent His disciples away and sent the crowd away, we see two kinds of disciples, the fake and the real, the false and the true. Both of these sections of Scripture are tremendously analogous to discipleship and in the first section we're going to meet the character and the quality of real true discipleship. In the second section, verses 22 to 29, the character of the phony disciple, and we'll see it very clearly by analogy from what we see here.

May I say to you, Jesus is no utilitarian genie, He acquiesces to nobody's whims and nobody's fantasies and nobody's wishes. He comes to no man on that man's terms. Listen, men come to Him on His terms. No one uses God. No one uses Christ. I always remember the perfect illustration of that was Israel, in the Old Testament got into a problem unfortunately, as they often did, with the Philistines. And Israel had been living in sin, immorality, they had really been in idolatry. They had forgotten and forsaken God. They were living a debauched kind of life and the Philistines were winning the war. And so the Jews thought, "This is not any good, we've got to get God. You guys run back to Shiloh and get God." Now God was represented by the Ark of the Covenant, His presence. And so they, "Ah, that's all, we'll just get God and God will just, and that will be the end of them." They ran back and they got the Ark of the Covenant. They coming running over and said, "Hurray, the Ark is here, hurray the Ark is here, the battle is ours." And you know what happened, the Philistines stole the Ark. And that's what always happens. Nobody uses God, not now, not then and not in the life of Christ. Christ is not for your whims and your fancies and your wishes. You don't use God. Christ doesn't commit Himself to any man, watch it, until there is, until there is a cry for mercy and repentance. That's when God and Christ commit themselves to somebody. And there wasn't any such thing here. They didn't need to repent because they didn't know they were sinners, they weren't willing to admit that.

And sadly, I think it's true too, that Christians even fall into the same error, don't we? We fall into that, that error of using Christ and it's subtle but it's true. For example, when we want comfort and sorrow, when we want strength in difficulty, when we want peace in the midst of turmoil, when we get really sick and we want help, all of a sudden there's no one like Jesus. And we walk with Him and we talk with Him, we pray, we read our Bibles. Why? Because He's got something we want. But on the other hand, when He comes to us and He makes a stern demand and He challenges us to a great effort and He offers us a cross to carry, we don't want anything to do with it, nothing at all. When we're very sick or in the midst of a terrible situation, we cry out to Christ and we love Him and we read His Word and when He says to us, "Why don't you go visiting Tuesday?" Yuk, just give me what I want, don't mess around with those demands, see.

But unfortunately, they were on the wrong ground. Instead of falling in adoration before Him, they decided that they wanted to use Him. They had their own selfish ends. They were a little bit uptight about the Roman yoke. They would just as soon have a political revolution take place and get rid of Rome and they figured, boy if this is a real miracle worker, if this is Messiah, let's pick Him up and haul Him off to Jerusalem and get this revolution going as fast as we can. In effect, they looked at Jesus Christ as if He was some kind of divine genie and they had the mistaken idea that they held the, is the lamp, I guess, that you rub and they would rub it and since they discovered the genie, it was up to them and say, "Genie, number one, we want you to do this, " and their first thought was to make Him king by force and have Him lead a revolution against Rome.

See, they looked at it all backwards. There was nothing of homage. There was nothing of adoration. There was nothing of worship. There was nothing of repentance. There was nothing of a cry for mercy. There was nothing of any of that, it was all all, so You're the one, well come with me, I've got something for You to do.

May I hasten to add that Jesus is nobody's genie. They were empty. They were blind. They were selfish. They were not repentant. They were thrill seekers. They found somebody who could do super magic tricks and they thought, Let's make the most of it. Boy, it's still true today. So true. Many people see Jesus Christ as a prophet, as a great teacher, and they never see their need for Him in terms of the wrath to come. Many people see Jesus as some kind of super miracle worker and if they're not involved in some kind of a so-called miraculous thing, they don't think He's even around. And all they want is to use Him to create miracles. People constantly seeking sensationalism. Other people who are content just to accept Him as whatever He is and use Him for whatever purpose, like the New York nightclub owner who said, "I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for the Big Man upstairs." As if God comes to his rescue whenever he gets into problems with his gangland people.

Well don't you ever be misled. Don't you ever be misled by the seeming honoring of Christ that eulogizes His precepts and despises His cross. That's backwards. And Jesus read the minds of this mob like it was spattered on a screen and He knew their plans. Notice it in verse 15. "When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take Him by force to make Him a King, He departed again into a mountain Himself alone." He could read their minds and He knew exactly what they were thinking. They were thinking, "Aha, here's our shot at Rome, here's our political power, let's get Him and force Him to be king." He read their minds, no problem for Him. Remember that, it applies to you and me as well. He reads us like an open book. In John chapter 2 and verse 24 He said, "No man needeth to tell Him what was in the heart of a man," He knew what was in the heart of a man. And because of that, "In Jerusalem He did not commit Himself to those false disciples, He knew their faith was not genuine." And these people saw only a political victory. They saw that maybe they could kidnap this miracle worker and have Him do tricks for their benefit.

Turn in your Bibles now to John chapter 6 and we shall examine the passage that is before us in our continuing study in the gospel of John. As we come to our section, this morning, chapter 6 verses 15 to 29, we come to the sequel to what is described in the first part of the chapter. In verses 1 to 14 of chapter 6 Christ performs the miracle of feeding about 15 thousand or more people. Prior to His feeding those people, He had been involved in teaching them all day long and in healing them of many different illnesses. He had been involved in meeting their physical needs in terms of sickness, their spiritual needs in terms of teaching, and capped it all off by feeding them late in the day as they were hungry.

Now in spite of all that they had seen, that is the miracles of Christ, and all that they had heard, that is the teaching of Christ, and all that they had actually been involved in and seen Him literally create fish and create bread right out of His omnipotent hands, in spite of all the tender pity that He had given to them, their reaction was very strange. Oh to be sure, they agreed that most likely He had some divine powers. That's undeniable. And also to be sure they were greatly impressed by His power. In fact, they were so impressed that in verse 14 they said, "This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world." What prophet? The prophet spoken of in Deuteronomy 18:15 by Moses who said there is coming one from the midst of thee like unto me, unto Him shall you hearken. That Moses had said this, they concluded, was THAT prophet. In other words, they were ready to receive Jesus as their Messiah, as their Deliverer on the basis of what they had seen Him do and heard Him say.

Mohammed could and would never have been mentioned in the Bible because he was irrelevant and doesn't belong to the lineage of Jesus Christ. He was an outcast who came up with his own believe just like Joseph Smith of the Mormon.
We ere warn about him, its in the bible see it: Matt 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matthew 24:11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.

Matthew 24:24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and"perform great signs and miracles" to deceive even the elect--if that were possible.

Ezekiel 22:27 Her officials within her are like wolves tearing their prey; they shed blood and kill people to make unjust gain

If they were serving idols before Mohammed, u will agree with me that they were serving the kaaba, the same Kaaba u muslims worship today undecided

If u accept other prophets were from GOD, U should also know that, these prophets before Mohammed were not into idolatery. Did God just decides to change from a teaching "MERCI WITH JESUS" to the people, and introduced a total "TERROR, BRUTAL" teaching to the people by Mohameds?? How did Momammed fits in with others past prophets??

Let me prove u wrong with your mentality of (JESUS DID NOT COME FOR U):
Yes becos the Jews re God's chosen people, God chose Israel as the means by which to BLESS the world with the Word of God, the Savior, the Apostles, Salvation, and Christianity itself.

This is why Israel as a nation is precious in God's eyes. However, the Scripture plainly states that God is "NO" respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) and that there is "NO" difference between the Jew and the Gentile (Romans 10:12). We as Christians re not obligated/expected to befriend the heathen nation of Israel today.

Jesus said to his disciples:
Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

They are to make disciples of both u and me.

(Mark 16:15) And he said unto them, Go you into all the "world", and preach the gospel to "every creature".
Who are the world? only the nation of Israel? no, u and me are included, because it also says every creature.

U must know effect from now that, everything that God ever did through Israel was with one intent—to bring salvation to the human race. Thank God for the precious redeeming literal blood of Jesus Christ that washes our sins away. (1st Peter 1:18,19; Revelation 1:5). make sure u Read these verses, dont be ignorant about the truth

Genesis 14:18:

Meaning he (john) and the questioner knew those 3 are different personalities. The jews were expecting christ, elijah and the prophet. So how then can christ and the pophet be one and the same person?
@the_seeker, Frosbel's article gave a clear evidence that mohammed in no way do not posses a single quality of Moses phrophecy. but u seem to be yet convince instead misqouting the bible!, but its ok, this can be out of ignorance. I hereby post u another good article, still on this facts, but more more examples of JESUS AND MOSES uniqueness.

While there are some similarities Mohammed shared with Moses’ life, there are even more differences. This is where the waters part. For example, Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians (Acts 7:22). We find Mohammed is believed by almost all Muslims to be illiterate. They use this as a strong point of God using someone without an education. Moses received his revelation direct from God speaking to him first and with God’s own finger writing the commandments on stone tablets. Mohammed received his revelation from the Angel Gabriel while on the ground having convulsions according to their own sources. It is a fact that even Mohammed questioned what was the source thinking it was jinn.

There are more similarities between Moses and Jesus than Mohammed and Jesus. Moses and Jesus were both Jewish, which corresponds to the term brethren in Deut.18. They both left Egypt to bring deliverance to their own people. “Out of Egypt I have called my son.” (Israel being the national son of God and Jesus being the eternal Son of God.) Both forsook riches to identify with their people. (Heb.11:26, 2 Cor.8:9). Instead Mohammed took riches in his conquering the people. One of the keys to identifying this prophet of Deut.18;15-18 is in Deut.34:10-11, “Since there has not risen a prophet like Moses whom the Lord knew face to face, in all the signs and wonders which the Lord sent him to do in the land of Egypt before pharaoh, before all his servants and in all the land.”

First we see that Moses had a unique relationship to God more than any other man. Mohammed could never claim this, but Jesus could. Jn.1:1 tells us He was there as the Word from the beginning, He was with God (Toward Him, face to face in relationship) and was God. Jn.1:18 tells us He was in a special place in relation to the Father, the greatest place of endearment (His bosom signifying closeness). This same person, the Word, was made flesh Jn.1:14. One of the major characteristics of this prophet is that He would have a relationship like Moses, this can only mean Jesus, since He stated no one knows the Father except he who is from him and no one knows the Son except the Father. Moses performed many signs and wonders even saving the entire nation from the pursuit of their Egyptian enemies. Mohammed on the other hand had no signs or miracles to validate his claim of being the prophet. Yet this is required from the Old Testament law. When asked why don’t you perform miracles like the other prophets did He responded this is my miracle the Koran. So the Koran is the only claim to a miracle by Mohammed.

Even the Koran mentions Jesus miracles though they claim some were performed from his cradle (Sura 3:49, 19:29-34) and also as a child of five years of age. Both of these accounts are parallel to two Apocryphal books, the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of his infancy. Neither is found in the New Testament which clearly states his first miracle occurred at the wedding feast of Cana.[this is the beginning of signs Jn.2:11]. In this way these and other portrayals of Jesus Islam presents is not the same as the Bibles. Now that we have looked at Moses and Mohammed lets look at a list of parallels between Moses and Jesus. For there is a consistent typology in Moses showing what the Messiah would be like.

(1) Both Moses and Jesus were born when Israel was under bondage (Moses in Egypt Ex.1:8,10, and Jesus during Israel's Roman bondage. Mt.2:1,Lk.2:1-2)

(2) Edicts were issued by the gentile powers of both Pharaoh and Herod for their death at birth. (Ex.2:3, Mt.2:15)

(3) Both were miraculously delivered from death during their infancy from their enemies of Israel (Ex.2:3, Lk.2:7;Mt 2:14,15) and were preserved in childhood.

(4) Both had been born and found in unusual places. Moses was found in the water floating in a basket of bulrushes (Ex.2:3) Jesus in a manger (cave) wrapped in burial cloths (Lk.2:7) (5) Both Moses and Jesus were protected and preserved by the faith of their parent. Moses was hidden by faith (Ex.2:2-3 and Heb.11:23) Jesus’ life was preserved by his parents obeying the message in a dream. (Mt.2:13-14)

(6) Both Moses and Jesus stayed safely in Egypt for a time. Moses (Ex.2:10) Jesus dwelt safely in Egypt (Mt.2:14-15)

(7) Both had their brethren and family speak against them. Moses had Mariam and Aaron speak against him taking a Cushite wife (Numb.12:1) Jesus had his family criticize and reject him (Mt.13:54-57, Jn.7:3)

(cool Both Moses and Jesus were reared in the house that was not their natural parents. (Moses in the house of Pharaoh (Ex.2:10) Jesus by Mary the mother of his humanity and his stepfather Joseph.

(9) Both predicted Israel's history (Deut.28:15-28; Mt.23:34,24:1,2,8,34)

(10) Both spoke out against Israel's enemies and persecutors. (Deut.23:3-4; Mt.25:41-48)

(11) Both were considered a snare to Israel (Ex10:7; 1Pt.2:8=Isa.8:14)

(12) Both cleansed leprosy. From Moses’ time no one that was Jewish was cleansed until Jesus came (Numb.12:10-16, Mk.1:40-41). This is a very significant factor that proves Jesus was the prophet Moses spoke of, since no other cured one of the brethren of this disease from Moses' time.

(13) Both were used of God to feed Israel miraculously, Moses with manna in the wilderness (Ex.16:14-17) Jesus with the five loaves and two fish fed four and five thousand two times. (Mt.14:19-21) Jesus also called himself the true manna that came from heaven in Jn.6, comparing himself to the miracle that sustained Israel alive through the desert.

(14) Both had the forces of nature obey them (the seas) Moses (Ex.14:21-22) Jesus (Mt.8:26-27)

(15) Each had seventy helpers Moses (Num.11:16-17) Jesus ( Lk.10:1).

(16) Both fasted 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness to bring a covenant to Israel. Moses on the top of Mt. Sinai (Ex.24:18, 34:28, Deut.9:9) Jesus in the desert as the Son of God (Mt.4:2)

(17) Both had a face to face relationship with God unlike any other person. Moses (Ex.33:9-11, Deut.34:10; Numb.12:7-cool Jesus was with God=face to face from eternity (Jn.1:1,18)

(18) God spoke audibly and directly from heaven to both Moses and Jesus. Moses (Ex.20:22, 24:12-16) Jesus (Mt.3:17; Jn.12:28)

(19) Both were God's spokesman to and for the people. Moses (Ex.9:35; Numb.12:2) Jesus (Heb.1:1-3). They Spoke as oracles of God (Moses Deut. 18:18) Jesus (Jn.14:24, 5:24)

(20) Both Moses and Jesus reflected and shown the glory of God. Moses reflected his glory temporarily. (Ex.34:29-35; 2 Cor.3:7-14) Jesus at the transfiguration, his face shown brighter than the sun revealing his true nature (Mt.17:2; Jn.1:14)

(21) Both were known for their humility and meekness as God's servants. Moses (Numb.12:3) Jesus (Mt.11:29; Phil.2:3-cool

(22) Both contended with masters of deception and darkness Moses with Pharaohs magicians (Ex 7:11, 1 Tim.3:cool Jesus with the Devil (Mt 4:1).

(23) Both prayed for the people intercessory prayers and were willing to bear the consequences of the people's sins. Moses asked to be blotted out of the book of life for the peoples sake (Ex.32:32-33). Jesus asked for them to be kept from falling away (Jn. 17:9-17). Jesus asked for those to be forgiven while he bore the consequences in their stead. (Lk.23:34, 2 Cor.5:19, 1 Pt.2:21-24, Isa.53:cool

(25) Both Moses and Jesus were rejected by their own brethren for a time and accepted by the gentiles. Moses (Ex.2:14-22, 32:1) Jesus was rejected by his own people and received by another who were not his own. (Isa.53:3; Mt.12:21; Mk.6:4; Lk.20:9-17, Rom.11:20)

(26) Both Moses and Jesus established a priesthood. Moses began the Aaronic priesthood which was temporary under the law (Lev.9; Numb.8:20-26; Heb.9:19-22). Jesus established a eternal priesthood under the new covenant of grace which He alone functions as the high priest forever. (Heb.7:17,19,23,25-28; 9:12)

(27) Both sprinkled the blood of the covenant on the altar and the people. Moses (Ex.24:7-8; Lev.8:19) Jesus (Heb.9,12:24; 1Pt.1:2)

(28) Both were sent by God to reveal His name, person and law to the people. To Moses God said to tell them I Am sent you. (Ex.3:13-14) Jesus said God sent him as his exact representative revealing his name (I Am) and nature to the people. (Jn.8:42; 17:6,11-12; Col.2:9; Heb.1:3)

(29) Both were involved in giving the covenant to the people Jn.1:17 the law came through Moses but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” At the feast of Pentecost Moses gave the law. At the feast (Pentecost) in the new covenant Jesus gave the Holy Spirit (Acts 2).

(30) Both brought deliverance to the Jewish people. Those who followed Moses out of the bondage of slavery to Egypt. (Ex.3:7-8,10;12:31-33,42) Jesus brought people out of a greater bondage, slavery to sin. (Rom.3:24-25,6:6-7,8:2-4; Eph.1:7;Heb.9:26)

(31) Both had an angel guard their graves. After Moses died Michael the Arch-angel guarded his body. (Jude 9) And when Jesus rose an angel guarded his tomb. (Mt.26:2-6)

(32) Both re-appeared after they died, Moses ( Mt 17:3 with Jesus before his death) Jesus (Acts 1:3)

In no way is this an exhaustive comparison. Through the parallels of persons, ministries, attitudes and miracles, it is clear Mohammed falls short of all of these to be qualified as the one Moses spoke of. While the Muslim continues to persist in calling the Scripture corrupted, it is these same Scriptures they use to point to their prophet Mohammed as the fulfillment of Deut.18. It is these same Scriptures that speak of the prophets, including Jesus. If one looks at the testimony of the prophets and God who cannot lie, we find the true witness. In Jn.5:39 Jesus says, “You search the Scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life and these are they that testify of me. Vs.46.“If you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me, but if you do not believe his writings, how will believe my words.” Something to seriously consider.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 71, Number 590:

Narrated Anas:
The climate of Medina did not suit some people, so the Prophet ordered them to follow his shepherd, i.e. his camels, and drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they followed the shepherd that is the camels and drank their milk and urine till their bodies became healthy. Then they killed the shepherd and drove away the camels. When the news reached the Prophet he sent some people in their pursuit. When they were brought, he cut their hands and feet and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron.

Not only were these men tortured but some traditions say that they were refused water and left to die slow and mutilated. The account states: "I saw one of them licking the earth with his tongue till he died." (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 71, Number 589)

The verse "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Apostle, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite side or exile from the land, most merciful" was revealed about polytheists. If any of them repents before they are arrested, it does not prevent from inflicting on him the prescribed punishment which he deserves. (Sunan Abu Dawud book 38. Number 4356, 4357, 4359)

"Kinana al-Rabi, who had the custody of the treasure of Banu Nadir, was brought to the apostle who asked him about it. He denied that he knew where it was. A Jew came (Tabari says "was brought"wink, to the apostle and said that he had seen Kinana going round a certain ruin every morning early. When the apostle said to Kinana, "Do you know that if we find you have it I shall kill you?" He said "Yes". The apostle gave orders that the ruin was to be excavated and some of the treasure was found. When he asked him about the rest he refused to produce it, so the apostle gave orders to al-Zubayr Al-Awwam, "Torture him until you extract what he has." So he kindled a fire with flint and steel on his chest until he was nearly dead. Then the apostle delivered him to Muhammad b. Maslama and he struck off his head, in revenge for his brother Mahmud." "A blind man had a slave-mother who used to abuse the Prophet and disparage him. He forbade her but she did not stop. He rebuked her but she did not give up her habit. One night she began to slander the Prophet and abuse him. So he took a dagger, placed it on her belly, pressed it, and killed her. A child who came between her legs was smeared with the blood that was there. When the morning came, the Prophet was informed about it. He assembled the people and said: I adjure by Allah the man who has done this action and I adjure him by my right to him that he should stand up. Jumping over the necks of the people and trembling the man stood up. He sat before the Prophet and said: Apostle of Allah! I am her master; she used to abuse you and disparage you. I forbade her, but she did not stop, and I rebuked her, but she did not abandon her habit. I have two sons like pearls from her, and she was my companion. Last night she began to abuse and disparage you. So I took a dagger, put it on her belly and pressed it till I killed her. Thereupon the Prophet said: Oh be witness, no retaliation is payable for her blood." (Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 38, Number 4348)

Mohamad's reaction towards honor killing has no line with Godliness' Jesus teaching towards humans is to be merciful. mohamed came after Jesus, he refused to follow the same merciful step.
Mohamad merely implied that the woman's life was worth nothing instead.
See another issue:.

@bashy_demy, u wanted some koran contradictions, there are alot and Muslim scholars finds it difficult to understand why these errors are in place. U ve failed to help @David to arrive at a point. But that wont stop me from giving u wat u requested for,  Plz correct your Koran or History books. How did Mohamed come manage to come up wit the below??

How true is the story of Abraham and the Ka’bah in the koran?

your Koran wrote that, Abraham and his son Ishmael were the ones who built the Ka’bah in Mecca (Sura 2:127).
Are u aware of hw contradicting this is to all history books known?:

Again in the koran, In Sura 18:83-97, it says of the adventures of a man named “Dhu’l-Qarneyn,”a title that means “Two-Horned.”If we read furthermore, it wrote that Dhu’l-Qarneyn which is (ALEXENDER THE GREAT) lived to a ripe old age. Will u agree with this riped old age koran story? is this not contradiction of history and error of the koran?

John 1:18-25:

18No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

19And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

20And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

21And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

22Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

23He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

24And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

25And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

@italo, read ur bible well u will see that our Lord alawys answer question with the word
It is "writen" if u ve come across him answered any question with yes or no give me the verse.
Not all question deserved yes or no on like this. So my answer still remains.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: "and he cannot sin", because he is born of God.

Tell me u dont believe this verse.
Christianity Etc › Re: Will A Born Again Christian Commit Adultery? by plappville(f): 11:41pm On Dec 05, 2011
@italo, i believe i ve already answer u in the other thread.
I will repost it here if u want: A born again has no interest to sin, when u throw away your old clothes, will u go back searching at the bin to rewear it? Its also like eating ones vomit. We can overcome sin if we are vigilant enogh, and this is by Gods grace.

See what the scriptures teaches, and i believe every born-again put this in practice.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
I keep moving with this very verse, all by his grace, "not commit sin" "Gods seed remaineth in him" If take excuse to sin, that seed wont remain anymore.
