So for the theoretical concepts I read grokking algorithms and then there's a very nice guy on YouTube that does very good explanations. His name is Dinesh viryani. I used his videos to understand the basic data structures, how to create them, manipulate them. where they are used and all and once I was satisfied I started to use Algo expert. I was using Algo expert until I was sure I wanted to start interviewing then I switched over to leetcode and started applying to jobs.

Leetcode hands down. Algo expert is rubbish. Very few test cases to even understand the problem at hand. A rubbish ide completely useless for debugging and you can't see other solutions aside Algo experts own. Also, all of Algo experts questions were copied word for word from leetcode. Leetcode is community focused. Each question can have over 100 solutions. Things that you won't even expert. Also on leetcode you can filter questions by company. Like if I have an interview with Facebook I can go on leetcode and start solving Facebook past questions.

Leetcode hands down especially if you are actively interviewing.

How do you understand those DSA concept(breath first search, graphs, time complexity etc). Those concept are alien to devs starting their DSA journey. Before solving the questions on leetcode, you need a thorough understanding of those concept, does leetcode premium provide explanations of those concepts with examples?

If you are working a programming job don't take a year. Just do leetcode after work. Forget learning any new framework or tool cause some companies have this pair programing sections after leetcode rounds and your programming day job experience will help you there.

Leetcode is crazy. I just paid for premium I am not even good at it and I was able to get to the final stages of a startups interview in Germany. I got 100 percent in both of the Algo rounds. All the questions I got asked were on leetcode. I failed the behavioral final interview but even passing the Algo interview was a huge deal to me cause as of last year I won't even attempt it. Leetcode is the only way for a software engineer to defeat poverty in his generation forever.

what are the perks of paying for premium? Will you pick leetcode over Algo expert?

I really hate saying this but school appears to be a very big scam especially in this shithole country.

somebody said if you need a college degree for it (a job or a business venture) it is not going to make you wealthy, this is debatable though. I can only imagine the kind of softwares they are building at those companies, Nigerian employers will pay you less than $1k a month to build heaven and earth.

Maybe I should take a year break from work and focus on leetecoding.. when I see the amount of money those guys earn; some with minimal experience,fresh from boot camps, it strengthens my resolve to take that one year break.

Leetcode is the way I am at the same place at op and the leetcode is the differentiator. It doesn't matter if you had first class or pass or you did computer science or you did Yoruba or chemical engineering. Leetcode is what separates boys from men.
