BA/BRIEF BS! Sorry fellow mamas this notification is coming a bit late. I had to use my husband's phone to share the excitement. Big Prince was born on 12/8/19 Delivery Method: Induction leading to Successful Natural Birth Weight: 4.4kg at 40weeks 2 Brief Birth Story: Pregnancy was very smooth and stressfree apart 4rm the first 3months of vomiting and the usual. On 10th of Aug (my EDD), i barely slept. I was having a fever, diarrhea, vomiting with little contractions. I got worse by 9am so, i decided to go into the hospital. I was checked and the nurses said i was 2cm dilated with very soft cervix. Fast forward on Sunday (11th August), i was booked for induction by 10pm. Everything went smoothly with Mistropol inserted. I went into active labour by 8:40am (12th August) with water busting and that was when i knew i was in labour. Omo mehn, i saw contractions back to back. Kai!. Next thing nurses asked for my hospital bag nd started arranging for baby only to check and they said i was only 3cm dilated. Blood of Jesus! They said i ought to dilate at 1cm every hour but God knew i couldn't. Next thing, baby pooed and the nurse quickly put hand inside to pack out the poo immediately. The doctor and the nurse came and started talking about if baby had swallowed shit, the heartbeat will drop and i will need CS. I started to pray. God answered me ooo... Because with all my prayers + Gibberish + grabbing of my husband, i had an active labour of 8:40am- 10:47am. My big prince was welcomed at 10:47am with no pain relief. With a small cut which was stitched. Mama and baby doing wonderful. *Drop Mic* Induction was vry swift and positive Abeg make you mama's no fear. |

NIMC needs to do more with their PR. I'm sure if this topic wasn't raised on nairaland, NIMC Mgt won't deem it fit to let the public know the update on fee of modification of date of birth. NIMC should be proactive rather than being reactive. @nimc_ng twitter handle should have tweeted this and post on relevant information sites. Dayolove , utilize other means to publicize this information |
Someone shared this on twitter in the morning..

From my knowledge, the NIN slip is quite as useful as the card if not more relevant. With the NIN, U can be verified. The issue is that this nation has not switched from the conventional form of ID card to digital identity. I took my NIN slip to the bank last week to rectify an issue with my account and it was accepted. |
ogaprime:In the sms u received, u will be asked to visit a particular center specifically. Walk in to the center and present the sms to the officer in charge. Im sure ur card is in the center u are asked to go to |
baakus:Walk in to any enrollment center close to u and present the tracking id slip to get the NIN slip. Enrollment centres are in almost all LGA offices. |

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) may be forced to shut down its database due to power outage and inability to fuel its power generating set. While on a visit to the commission’s headquarters in Abuja, on Thursday, Nigerian Tribune noticed outright blackout and was told that the generator supplying the entire building was faulty, as it had been overstretched in terms of capacity. It was gathered that this had been the trend for about two weeks, with no possible solution. It was also gathered that the commission had stopped printing the e-Identity card due to lack of funds. Meanwhile, during an interview with the General Manager, Operations, NIMC, Mr Abdulhamid Umar, he denied that the commission had stopped printing. While also expressing shock over cases where banks do not accept the NIN slip as a form of identification in banks, he blamed this on lack of enforcement. He, however, said the commission was in the process of taking this up with the Federal Government , expressing hope that this was promptly addressed. I went to INEC Headquarters this morning, I now overhead people discussing it that Abubakar Audu is back to live. I still find it hard to believe |
I was discussing with a friend last week. He asked me, “How can someone manage to survive in this country”. He showed me the business plan he wants to execute and I must tell you, it takes only an intelligent person to come up with that. I told him he should not lose focus, its achievable. What separates the highly successful is the ability to keep moving forward. This story is applicable to many of us. We live in a society where our drive is constantly attacked by negative thoughts and anxiety about the future. Martin Luther king Jnr once said, “If you can’t fly, then run, If you can’t run, then walk, If you can’t walk, then crawl, But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward”. Motivation is what causes us to act, whether it is eating a slice of bread to satisfy hunger or pursing your Master’s degree to gain knowledge. Motivation is what inspired me to write this article. Though, it might not be the best you’ve read on the topic, but it’s a stepping stone to an award winning article in future. We all have dreams, ambitions and goals, but such things don’t come on a platter of gold. Achieving such will require the ability to persist through obstacles and endurance to keep going in spite of difficulties. People that came up with great innovations were motivated to cause that change. They failed many times but motivation powered them to accomplish their goals. The first step in staying motivated is to build your confidence. Practice positive thinking. Your mind gets to conform with the beliefs you feed to it. This is not the time to indulge in non-creative thoughts like past failures, heart breaks and personal weakness. Focus and develop your strengths. This will restore your confidence and get you motivated to build on your current success. Also, don’t give to fear. It drains your motivation. If you have already set a goal, you automatically define the master plan of accomplishing it. If you have a fear of failing your examination, create a timetable that will allocates more time for study and tutorials. Don’t lose focus on the big picture. Once you have your confidence rejuvenated and have the big picture in focus, you should set direction. This keep you in check and make sure you are in alignment with your goal. Direction is having a day-to-day strategy to achieve it. A lack of direction kills motivation because without an obvious next action, we succumb to procrastination. Identify those activities which are paramount in determining your success. Then direct your energy towards these activities. It is inescapable that you will encounter occasional failure, low momentum or bad luck. Even when things are going wrong, do you believe in being strong? Many of us give up after the first trial, we simply accept the defeat and seek other opportunities. You need to discipline your mind to propel yourself to success. See you at the top!!!

Well, not everyone knows this. I’m particularly guilty until a friend enlightened me about the consequences. Before, I’d want to ‘launch’ the new clothe before I wash it. I used to think its crispy, straightened and glowing nature will be noticed and appreciated by people. Also, most people don’t find it necessary because they think it’s only dirty clothes that need to be washed. We live in a country that serves as a depot for inferior, second hand goods from other countries. Most of these products find their way in the market with no detailed testing carried out on them. Hence, the need to be health conscious. New clothes should be washed before they are worn. According to Professor Belsito , a dermatologist, chemicals used to give garments a wrinkle free look could be responsible for rashes, itching and all manner of allergic skin reactions. He also said most synthetic textiles are colored with azo-aniline dyes, which can cause a severe skin reaction akin to poison ivy in the small population of people allergic to them. For others, reactions to dyes are less extreme, and may result in slightly inflamed, dry, itchy patches of skin Also, untold numbers of people have probably tried the garment on their body. These clothes can harbor lice and bugs. Professor Belsito said lice could be possibly transmitted from store to store. ‘Lice can’t live without a host, but they tend to attach better to natural fibers than synthetic’. The state of hygiene of the people cannot be determined. Some infections can be transmitted via secretion especially sweat. Bacteria and fungi inhabit in these secretions and can be transferred if the same fabric is worn by another person. Sellers will try as much to convince you that it’s the perfect fit for you. They will tell to wear it and you can’t tell who wore it before you. It is therefore advised that all new clothing is washed at least once- with a double rinse before wearing, no matter what the fabric. |
