pekelepekele: Mr man before we had a president their have been different kings in this country and i doubted it that you will be called to become a king in any part of the country and you will say no to that
Why would i want to be a king? Sorry but i am not stuck in 1930.I will rather be an inventor who invents something for the benefit of mankind like the cure of HIV instead of sitting on one silly throne doing absolutely nothing to better my community or my race.I am not one of those primitive Nigerians who enjoy ambiguous titles.I don't want to be called chief ,igwe ,Alhaji ,oba, otunba,Balogun or any other silly title that serves no purpose for the common good of my people. What has these monarchs ever done for Nigerians?

Even before the arrival of the colonial powers what did these monarchs do for Africans? All they did was make us their subjects and sell as slaves to the colonial masters. Most countries in the west outgrew the monarchical systems and moved to the modern age.The western world embraced education, intellectual thought and science and till these day the western world is responsible for 99% of most of the benefit we enjoy in the modern world.Africa on the other is still stuck in the past with silly traditions ,beliefs and mentalities. It is only Nigerians with a low IQ and low self esteem who value titles.I am a very successful man with a lovely family, that is all i ever wanted.I don't need any chieftaincy titles, the term "Mr" will do me just fine.

I also come from a royal family in Ado Ekiti but i have not seen any positive impact my family has made on the community of Ado Ekiti. We Africans need to get our priorities straight and do away with all these monarchs that do not benefit our communities in anyway. We can not afford all these leeches who do not contribute anything to the progress of our country except to make corrupt deals with corrupt politicians.

Now can someone please show us what Jonathan built when he was Governor of bayelsa state.Surely our "prestigious" President greatly improved the lives of bayelsans hence hwy they supported him and voted for him en masse. Please show us photographic evidence of roads, hospital and schools that Jonathan built as the Governor of bayelsa. I expect unsincere 9gerian to address this question asap.

Professor Pat Utomi was easily the best candidate in the last election but Nigerians did not vote for him because the average Nigerian is an enemy of progress and because he did not have money to throw around like PDP.

All we care about is tribe and religion.I have listened to this man speak and there is no doubt that he is a real thinker. If we elect this man as President he will do more than Fashola because he has a mapped out plan on how to better Nigeria and he is well educated in the field of politics and economics.I am ashamed of being a Nigerian because i have come to realize that Nigerians are not as bright as they claim to be .

This man is better and will always be better than Jonathan ,yet we will not vote for him.For those GEJ dos who keep claiming that Yorubas want to kick Gej out because is ND please note that i am 100% Yoruba but will vote for Professor Utomi because he is brilliant. He is also an ND person so i wonder why ND people are not behind.Could it be because he a straight forward and intelligent guy.Nigerians please think and do what is right so we can fix this country before it is too late.

I have been wondering about this since Monday. If Mandela was a Nigerian do you think he would have been treated in Nigeria or flown overseas.Ever since Mandela has been falling sick ,he has been treated in South African hospitals which are world class with relative success. In Nigeria our president runs to London for a common flu. What are your thoughts on this?

Photos of the blood-spattered bathroom where Oscar Pistorius shot his girlfriend to death have surfaced on the web ... and they could prove to be crucial pieces of evidence in the runner's defense. The pics were taken from outside the bathroom door in the Blade Runner's South African mansion ... and show two bullet holes in the bathroom door ... along with a pool of blood by the toilet ... and a blood trail leading to the stairs. Another pic shows blood drops on the stairs ... where Oscar says he carried Reeva while trying to call for help.

https://ll-media.tmz.com/2013/05/31/0531-pistorious-crime-scene2-3.jpg

Oscar admits he shot and killed Reeva Steenkamp on February 14 ... but insists it was an accident. In fact, Pistorius told investigators he grabbed his gun and fired 4 shots into the bathroom that night ... but only because he thought an intruder snuck into his house and was hiding in the toilet. The holes in the door could back Oscar's defense ... that he truly didn't know who was in the bathroom when he opened fire. Of course, the person in the bathroom was Reeva -- who ultimately died from her wounds. Oscar was arrested and charged with murder.

Jonathan is a failed President and if he rigs himslef back into power in 2015.It will be a disaster for this country. We need a competent leader like Professor Patrick Utomi to lead this nation out of the cesspit it is in
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Flags-Off Building Of 700MW Hydro-power Dam by playmode(m): 12:41pm On May 29, 2013
takeprofit: 1.Check his records. Hw many projects has he flagged off. How many has he completed.
2.If u think 700 MW is small. Hw many did past administrations before him build? how many has been built during his administration alone.

i'm beginning to realize that no matter what u do, some people will still talk bad about u. Even if Gej cuts 2 of his legs and hands for nigeria, some people will still complain why didn't he cut his head.

the best is for u to ignore such pple and do the best u can do to improve human life and for the records. That's all.
1. What records huh Please list the projects he has flagged off and how many he has completed. No seriously please list them because i am am ignorant of such information and will like to be enlightened.

2.This is not an excuse,i never liked the previous administrations either. If i was president i would not build a 700MW Dam when i have more than enough money to build a bigger dam.In civilized countries ,they plan infrastructure based on population growth and needs. They don't look back and refuse to build infrastructure because the previous Government did not.My point is that we can EASILY afford bigger power plant and we seriously need them so the patriotic thing to do is to commit at least 70% of our annual income to building power plants.

President Zuma is barely educated yet he is building six power plants ,two of which will be generating at least 4000MW in South Africa for a population of 50 million people with $37 billion while our Ph.D holding president is building 700MW plants for a population of 160 million which growing rapidly.Do you not see something wrong therehuh It is like trying to fix a tyre leak with chewing gum instead of fixing properly at a "vulcanizer".

Here are some questions i want you to answer truthfully:

How many Hospitals has he built in Lagos ,Abuja and Port harcourt?

How many old hospitals has he upgraded and re equipped with modern equipment?

Why does he and his wife travel overseas to get treatment while the president of South Africa gets treatment in a South African hospital?

How many roads has he built and completed?

How many old roads has he upgraded completely?

How many Airports out of the 30+ he promised to build has he completed?

What notable infrastructure has he built in Lagos,Port Harcourt and Abuja since becoming President?

How many low cost housing has he built for Nigerians?

Why did he contract a foreign company to spy on Nigerians?

Why did he add a bogus $21 million to the isreali spy contract?

What has he actually done to the benefit of the average Nigerian?

Why did he pardon a corrupt politician?

Why is he supporting Jang who lost the NGF elections?

Why is he so corrupt and worse than all his predecessor?

What has he done with the minimum of $150 billion dollars Nigeria has earned since he became President?

What did he do with the $35 billion Obasanjo left in our foreign reserves, the money just disappeared, where did it go to?

Are Nigerians better off than they were 3 years? If your answer is yes please tell us how they are better off?

Do we have stable electricity or total black out?

How many of his election promises has he fulfilled?

Has he fixed Nitel and do we have land lines?

How many drainage systems has he fixed?

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Flags-Off Building Of 700MW Hydro-power Dam by playmode(m): 11:33am On May 29, 2013
all4naija: Why can't the leaders come up with building one gigantic power station that can generate half of the nation electricity need than building many small plants everywhere? This is not an effective way to make power available to the people. A huge power station can easily be manageable and well monitored than many which might be falling into disrepair why attention is given to the other.

Well, we should address our power problem by building huge power plant like South Africa or China. We should be competing with South Africa by now. I don't know what is wrong with the people given the task to execute this kind of program.

I am giving up on the success of having constant power supply and huge power generation in that country.
Well Said,i do not understand why we can not build a mega dam at the base of river Niger like the Chinese's three Georges Dam.It cost the chinese $26 billion and produce 22500MW. The river it is built on is the same size at the river Niger.I do understand what PointB is saying about the single point of failure but the three georges dams has 32 turbines. There is no way more than 2 turbine can break down at a time.South African Government which earns less than our Government is spending $37 billion dollars on more than six new power plants and here our dumb President pussyfooting around the problem.

Until we have an action leader who just does things without delay and fanfare ,we are never going to be meeting the demand of electricity. Remember that our population is growing so by the time this 700MW Dam is completed another two million people would have been added to our population.Power genereation should national emergency not not some after thought around election time. How can we succeed with un intelligent leader like that of odenathan? Over $100 billion a year from oil revenue but we refuse to build big power plants. We refuse to stop being dumb Niggers. Enugu has coal but we can't build coal plants. We even can't build oil refineries which cost a mere $5 billion to build ,yet we squander $100 billion yearly.Any one who support odenathan is dumb and that is putting midly. My housemaid will Nigeria better than this buffoon of a president
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Flags-Off Building Of 700MW Hydro-power Dam by playmode(m):
wy2000: SA does NOT have a power plant of 4800mw yet, its still a project, based on coal not hydro. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_power_stations_in_South_Africa

Hydro is cheaper to maintain, because you are not burning fossil fuels, but it is limited by the size of the water body being used.

When the dam is completed, the turbines can be changed with a higher capacity ones when I becomes available. Like kainji should be done soon.

The most important thing is to build it.
Medupi Power Station and Kusile Power Station are 85% completed and will be commissioned in 2015.

Why is this donkey always flagging off projects huh In other countries ,the government do not flag off construction. They just pay for the project and the contractor begins work immediately. It is only after the project is complete that they commission it with little fanfare.Nigeria and it's rubbish Government protocols.

Secondly why a mere 700MW dam? Why not buy 2 or 3 turbines so that the dam can at least generate 1400MW or 2100MW ,this donkey is a big Joke.In South Africa the minimum power generating plant they build generates at least 4800MW but in Nigeria odenathan builds a 700MW dam.FRESH AIR bunch of morons!

PoliticsWhat Is The Point Of Being A Nigerian? by playmode(op): 9:12am On May 29, 2013
What i am about to say will anger a lot of people but I have been pushed to this point of no return. Over the past four years I have been keeping on and off tabs on what is going in Nigeria and have been home once in that period.I have been optimistic about coming home in the near future having seen a couple of reports promoting Nigeria as a progressive country. I almost bought in to the hype until I decided to really pay attention and constantly keep tabs.

I don’t want to bore my audience with long stories so I will try to pick out my point straight away. Yesterday I watched the Video of Nigerian Governor’s Forum and for the first I got to see what our so called leaders are like when they think they are not on camera.

I know how corrupt and useless Nigerian politicians are but even I was stunned at the way these governor behaved like animals. I could not believe Nigerians voted for these men. I mean one would have to be clinically retarded to vote for any of the governors captured on the NGF election video.

I was really saddened by the video because it finally dawned on me how much of a mess we are in. How can these buffoons be able to run a house hold talk less of a state? Their behaviour on camera was devoid of any etiquette or decorum that one would expect from State Governors and their utterances betrayed their lack of intelligence as well as rational thought. How did these men even get a chance to be elected? If I did not know any better I would have taught I watching a video of apes in a zoo.

If these are our governors ,i shudder to think what our senators are like not to mention the president himself.Yet Nigerians elected this people, what does that say about the average Nigerian? I have read a lot of articles over the past four years about the political scene in Nigeria and I have digested a lot of unsettling information, this video though was the last straw. I am exhausted and don’t think I can take anymore of Nigeria. What even irks me more are the commentators on Nairaland who are defending jang even though the video clearly shows that Amaechi won.

No I am not an Ameachi supporter, infact I do not like the APC just as I do not like the PDP but this was an election and a clear winner was decided. If Nigerians on this forum can defend jang a man who in his own said “If you rig and you win,it mean GOD approves of it” then why am I still a Nigerian?
I have met a lot of people in my journeys abroad but I have never any group of people as deceitful and as corrupt as Nigerians. We are just wired to be deceitful ,dis honest, corrupt , non progressive and repulsive as a people and it is just depressing.
After reading all these comments on the NGF election video I sat down weighed down with questions: Why am I still a Nigerian? Why do I still care about Nigeria? I am nothing like these Nigerians and they will never change. Why do I still want to defend this nation of crooks? Should I not just renounce my citizenship and pledge full allegiance to another nation where the citizens have a moral compass.

I wish I could be proud of Nigeria but I am not. I wish I could love Nigerian but I am instead disgusted by them. We are beyond saving in this country. I had hoped that my children could one take their place in Nigeria but that dream is fading fast.

It is very hard to find honest, intellegent and patriotic Nigerians. I don’t believe such people make up to 5% of our population. I remember a conversion I had with a German man last year, he referred to Nigeria as a blemish on the face of earth and an embodiment of deceit. I was so angry that I told him off but today I look back at that conversation and find myself in agreement with him.

After all I have seen and read and after realizing that Nigerians are regressive as well as deceitful people, The questions I ask myself again are :

Do i want to be associated with a country where people can't seem to tell the truth even when there is video evidence that they have told a lie?

A country where liars defend their lies and open new secretariats with the support of the citizens?

A country where a sitting president support the loser of an election in stealing the mandate in full view of the nation and the world?

A country where the citizens have lost the ability to be normal ,civilized or rational?

Why am I still a Nigerian?

What is the point or benefit of being a Nigerian?

Sincerely Yours
A tired soon to be ex-Nigerian
