Can you do a develop a design that is a departure from the typical Nigerian design? I am not a fan of Nigerian Architecture as i find it too "Colonial American" and not contemporary.I also don't like the way Nigerian architecture comes with coats of many colors,i like homes which have just subtle color scheme not a mismatched color scheme.

Can you design a sample of a bungalow in a minimalist fashion like the ones pictured below,just simple straight lines with ultra modern styling and well matched color scheme:

All of the above are South African homes and as you can see South African Architecture is ultra modern and in a class of it's own.I have attached a small floor plan which i developed on sweet home 3D software,can you design a modern minimalist outer skin for this plan and post it here.It is a rough floor plan so there are no specific dimensions indicated.

I will like to offer some advice to the Nigerians who are planning to come to South Africa: DONT COME HERE!

The local South Africans also dislike Nigerians because of the atrocities some of our brothers commit here.

Right now the only job available for news comers is drug dealing and it extremely dangerous as many Nigerian drug dealer meet their demise every day on the streets of SA.

If you love yourself look for another country to go or use the money you have to start a business.The only way SA will benefit you is if you have a relative who has an established business and can show you the ropes. You have been warned O!

Since 1994 The South African Government has been giving brand new houses free of charge to poor blacks but in a show of solidarity and forgiveness President Zuma gave brand new houses to struggling white families free of charge.

We now know how senators voted on the constitution amendment bill which caused an uproar in the senate on Tuesday.

The section up for amendment had to do with persons qualified to renounce Nigerian citizenship. The constitution in Section 29 says anyone of age can do so. Section 29(4) (b) says that ” any woman who is married shall be deemed to be of full age.” It means that even a child if married can be seen to be of full age and as such can renounce citizenship. The committee proposed that that provision be deleted.

When it was put to vote, 2/3 of members present voted for it which meant it was deleted. But, not so fast.

Enter Senator Ahmed Yerima of Zamfara, the controversial former governor of Zamfara who tried to stoke religious sentiments. He said it was against Islamic law. Yerima got married to a teenager a few years ago, and going by the provision, the girl who is still not 18 cannot be said to be of age.

He kicked and began to mobilise his fellow Muslims in the Senate and it was threatening to cause confusion. Despite the senate president, David Mark insisting that it could no longer be revisited as it had been voted upon, Yerima continued his objection.

Due to the sensitive nature, Mark had to call for another vote. At this point the Senators who were in favour of this clause could no longer muster 2/3 of the votes that will retain Section 29, Clause 4 (b). Senators still voted 60 votes to 35 votes for the clause to be deleted, but it did not satisfy the 2/3 requirement and so, according to the senate version, “any woman who is married shall be deemed to be of full age.”

This is why i will never buy another album of tuface again. I know there are better leaders out there,the problem is that they do not have the money or the will to bribe the electorate to elect them.The day we as Nigerians decide to be honest with ourselves and choose the right leaders,that is the day we will move forward as a nation.In the mean time we are stuck with all these scammers who will continue to suck us dry because we let them.If we ever have a revolution all of these politicians must be executed so as to send a clear message to anyone who comes after them that they should not mess with the people.

Ever since i started coming to Nairaland , one thing i have noticed is the suffocating air of tribalism which engulfs the political section of this forum.Why are we Nigerians so tribalistic? Who started it and why has it gone on for so long?

Personally i believe our politicians started and are still using it to divide us. As a Yoruba man how will it Benefit me if a Yoruba man becomes president? The truth is that his shared lineage with me will not benefit me or any other Yoruba man in way. The President being Yoruba does not mean Yorubas will live a better life. Obasanjo was president but we Yorubas did not benefit anything from him.

We Nigerians have to reset our minds because we are heading for a cliff. Many of us who carry on the tribalsistic traditions blame the civcil for such actions. The funny part of it though is that many of us were born decades after the civil war. How can we hang to the past when we should be uniting for the future?

Nigerians where are you? How long are you going to let our elders and politicians manipulate us? Why are we practicing tribalism when we should be uniting and agreeing on what we want as a country?

Many who support the GEJ Government are either political jobbers or tribalists. GEJ has not done anything to benefit Naija delta or the East yet many people from these regions support it to death. We need to reset our mind and stop trying to install our tribesman as president but instead elect a capable individual with no baggage.

We as Nairalanders have a choice,we can unite from here and begin to unite our fellow Nigerians or we can tow the line of tribalism and tribalists and continue a downward spiral. The choice is ours to make

(A) Level Tool

The level is the second most important tool to have when building a wall. A good level is lightweight and absolutely straight. The better levels are called spirit levels because they contain alcohol in the vials instead of oil. Alcohol is more accurate.The purpose of the level is to keep the work you are doing plumb (even up and down, or vertically) and even straight across, or horizontally.

(B) Mason's Line

In order to have an easier time laying a straight wall, a mason's line is recommended. It is recommended that you use a nylon or dacron line, stretched between two corners (and anchored at the corners) of the wall you are building. By laying the line, you won't Mason Using Mason's Linehave to depend on your level as often, speeding up the job. A mason's line will let you build walls without bulges or hollows.

(C) Steel Square

When laying your wall, you'll want to make sure your corners are at a 90 degree angle, assuming you're building a square or rectangle wall. A large steel square, usually 24" long, Mason Using Steel Squares should be used for marking off corners when laying out the job, and for checking corners as the wall is being built. If you are building a room, garage, etc., you'll also want to use a 12" square for checking window and door openings. If these openings are not square, the windows and door may not fit.

Habba ! How can an Assistance minister not even a vice minister of foreign affairs receive a visiting president of a country. Not just any country, Nigeria for God’s sake the Nigerian delegation was over 100 including 11 Nigerian Ministers. Whether we believe it or not, economically, Nigeria is a power house in Africa. If Obama goes to China today, will Li Yucheng receive him at the airport? As China is to the world in population and economic (sic) might, so is Nigeria to Africa. When Obama visited China in 2009, President Obama got the full entourage. He was welcomed by then President Hu Jintao and Premier Xi Jinping and a host of other officials who met the Air Force One when it landed in Beijing. When U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron visited in 2010, he was welcomed by Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. So why not afford the same courtesy to the president of China’s third largest trade partner ?
