Agbalowomeri: So when a couple of companies' share gets to 20k or 50k, they should change the rule again? NGX shouldn't be bending rules because of a couple of coys. It is the responsibility of company board to improve the liquidity of their shares na They don't necessarily have to change the rules with rising prices. What we had before was better than this in my opinion, using classification based on company share prices. |

BabsO2: There is a huge difference between N225b and N31b (or N14b). How did the People Gazette come up with N225b and the bank has a max of N31b being a stake. They are all trying to play games. The difference in the final figure is the date for the exchange rate. 2005,2018 or 2025?? |

SonofElElyonRet: He blamed the external service provider during his press conference. Let's see what the said provider will say. If they don't rebut his claim then we'll believe him. But ideally in other climes, he would've resigned, his fault or not. Buck stops on his desk. He hired the alleged bumbling and fumbling service provider The guy is a rare breed in Nigeria context his shortcoming notwithstanding. |

Harvestock01: Veritas Registrars (Zenith Bank) is the most notorious in withholding shareholders dividends. While other Registrars are creating online portals for unclaimed dividends, Veritas is becoming more archaic Veritas is on my blacklist . I will think twice before I buy any share with veritas as the registrars |

Agbalowomeri: So Nigerians are still drinking in this economy Their return to profitability has more to do with injection of money into the operation than anything else. The new money helped them to pay down a huge sum of foreign denominated loan which has been a drag on the company financial for a while. When osita mentioned it here, I had to go back and checked it and I just knew their next quarterly results will be good. |

Agbalowomeri: What people fail to acknowledge is that events have a way of filtering into the charts before they become obvious. The theory is that the price action is a sum of all the information available to the market whether overt or covert (efficient market theory)
Let me give an example. The pipeline sabotage would be organised and sponsored by some key figures. Among these key figures, there is a possibility that a/some close allies are Oando shareholders and this information could filter to them. Then you suddenly see unexplained dumping before the event. It will show up in the chart before the event. There are many similar situations like that.
Look at ACCESS. Nobody knows why it suddenly became bearish. I would be surprised if it is not related to the upcoming results and dividend. Most of the argument against TA are borne out of ignorance. I used to be one of them in the past but the likes of fxuser and BBM were instrumental in my decision to learn one or two things about it's usefulness. I will forever be grateful to them. |

emmasoft: You will be putting yourself at a disadvantage because the companies go with the registrars of their choice. Imagine a stock like Nahco, Presco, Ucap, GTB etc, and you consider their registrars to be "bad" will you forgo investing in them because of their registrars? When it comes to registrars, you just have to manage them and find a way to get what you want from them; some of them are the product of a failed system. If the regulation is strong a well-positioned, they will not misbehave. Our investment objectives are different and we should find a way to find what works for us. I don't have to own any particular stock including the ones you mentioned before I succeed in this market. |

emmasoft: Registrars should be the least considered when investing in stocks.
Invest in good quality stocks that give returns on your investment and bother less about the registrars. I don't think it is totally out of place to consider the registrar of the company one wants to invest in. Some registrars are just terrible. |

USA2019: You don't sound like one of us, I would have welcomed you with the Great Ife anthem. You probably spent most of your time on campus fellowshipping (getting brainwashed) at the Sports Center if indeed you attended Great Ife. You can make your points without insulting the sensibility of others on the forum. Fellowshipping at that sport center was a life time opportunity and experience for many. |
