edwardaigb: Early this month I decided to test this Mrs/Dangote fuel to confirm all the noise so I filled my tank. Today I can confirm the difference having done my normal driving. Dangote fuel honestly last longer and cheaper. I want to believe that dangote fuel is actually of better quality than the imported one. Those importing are likely paying less to bring in cheaper bad fuel. I am equally eager to undertake the experiment but unfortunately I can't find any MRS station in my area. Dangote should consider having mega stations in more cities across the country, he needs to find a way to run these established petroleum importers out of business. |

Agbalowomeri: Transcorp is not joking with this growth rate. It's a new candidate for N500 in 5 years if this growth rate is sustained It is an excellent result but I don't think that kind of growth rate is sustainable for the next five years. |

KarlTom: Not really (at the bolded)
Even though I'm not a financial analyst, I believe that they have a very competent team.
You can't expect them to make such a blatant mistake though I'm not 100% in alignment with the 'abracadabra'... I didn't say they are wrong or they made a mistake. That complex calculation is not just necessary They are not going to pay dividend based on os of 35b or are they? |

Agbalowomeri: I don't really understand the rationale for all these weighting Lol. So 1 share pre-reconstruction had same weight as 1 share post-reconstruction? Wha do we even need the weighting for when dividend will be paid based on new OS? Abi dem recently employed one intern data scientist who wan show skills 😂 I think they are just out to confuse the uninitiated, that is their way. eps at December 2024 should be PAT/OS which should be 51.524/10.102. |

Agbalowomeri: But the price of sugar is on the decline in the international market Yes price is on the decline but it is still high. If the support around 18 could be broken and we can see price of year 2020 to 2022 again, then I can only imagine the kind of money that DS will make. |

Agbalowomeri: But the price of sugar is on the decline in the international market I will check to confirm. If that is correct,it might be the right time to take position in DS again. I don't expect them to have the same forex issue they had last time this year. |

ositadima1: LOL, I said it here—DangSugar would post bad results. I also analyzed it as my reason for entering Presco. I discussed the issues: you can't just buy land and generate enough sugarcane in a short time. Land is capital-intensive, yet some people were busy quoting back integration. Look at the gross profit, and you'll understand better—raw sugar is still being imported in large quantities, and with this unfavorable exchange rate, it's a major challenge.
I also mentioned that rising interest rates on loans would be a problem. Again, look at the expenses going toward interest—did you see how it wiped out the already small operational profit? Additionally, I discussed asset revaluation separately. I said here that balance sheets would see boosts due to asset revaluation as the naira lost significant value.
I am vindicated—that's all I can say.
Me I no know book oo, na just manage I dey use the reason things.
I have not looked at the sugar results in details as I am mainly concerned with stocks I own presently. But one thing I have observed here is that once some people buy certain stocks, analysing the negative part of that particular stock is a problem to them. DS has been talking about backward integration for more than a decade yet they still depend almost entirely on importation of raw sugar. The performance of DS over the years has shown a correlation with price of raw sugar in the international market. DS will still do well going forward as I think the performance this year was impacted more by forex losses. |

ositadima1: What do you mean by "prevent CBN"? The same CBN and government that hiked interest rates when excess cash in circulation was clearly not the issue are now the ones planning to reduce it, using a different excuse.
I agree with you that devaluation was inevitable to keep Nigeria from sinking, but the approach and timing were completely wrong. The way something is handled can make a huge difference—just like in trading. You and I could act on the same stock signal, but our approaches could significantly affect the profits we make. I don't think it is totally correct to say excess cash in circulation was not the issue. One of the issues affecting naira volatility is excess liquidity. A lot of naira in the circulation will be chasing the few dollar we have, there by putting pressure on our forex with the resultant effect of devaluation. Keeping the interest rate high was not only to combat inflation directly but to also manage a volatile currency by discouraging a situation where too much naira is chasing few dollars and by making yield attractive for foreign investors to bring in their dollars. |

Raider76: But one of these companies has just developed an innovative dividend called "share redistribution", which they will pay to shareholders for the next three years, barring any unforseen shenanigans. Somebody owes you and finds it hard to pay back his debt. The same person now makes some arrangements to surrender some of his properties to settle his debt. Will you call that arrangement a favor or an innovative dividend |

chimex38: Well, probably true with UKs current health care crisis but its basically an admin/population Problem not poor treatment or lack of equipment or maintenance. And their destination is probably LAGOS.. That's all. A stretch would be National Hospital Abuja or some military hospitals. most na referral things. Yes, some are coming from outside to attend clinics in Nigeria but not in the scale of what we can call trooping. Two major factors are responsible for this, you get your appointment on time and it is cheaper. But believe you me, this is mostly happening in some selected/elite private hospitals. The government run hospitals can't compete in that space. |
