DUNKA: Advise need please
Bought Julius Berger @ N40.41 now price is N24.85 i.e a 38.5% loss
Bought Mobil @ N336 now price is N175.00 a 48% loss
Do I hang on or cut my losses and move on?
Also been trying to sell 50 units of Newgold ETF but as of Friday only 4 Units could be sold. Is the stock illiquid? Any useful advise/insights would be appreciated. Mobil and JB have been experiencing dwindling fortune in their operations for sometimes now . Don't know why you bought them in the first place, but if it were to be about value I will advise that you sell and cut your loses since nobody can say when those companies will see a turn around. On the other hand you might have bought based on some other considerations, may be by revelation or so,you might decide to wait it out and see to the end of it. |

kolaish: According to Ihedi 'ONE LOVE'. But then, your prediction of N2 to me is like a wake up call to still get into DS/DF before the release of their result. If NASCON can declare N1.50 as div, then DS can declare something similar, if not better. DS has already paid N0.50k as interim dividend. Just put this into consideration in your expectations of bumper dividend. I personally don't expect DS to pay more than N1.00 as final dividend for the year. |

RabbiDoracle: Are you saying that Access is amongst them? Access should have released her results on the 5th of March and it is 7th now. Why should access release its result on that day? They sure know how the whole thing works. When you have not satisfied the CBN, there is no point in going to town to tell people you are going to release result on so and so date. CBN is not a rubber stamp. |

Jejebaba: Guys, information reaching me has it that, CBN is really grilling banks to take more provisioning for loans in their account. Results might be rejected and my prayer is that, any results rejected should not leak to the masses before resubmitted else yawa go gas oo on such banking stocks. As it is now, i have started reducing my exposure to banking stocks drastically. There is nothing new here. Some banks results were rejected last year for representation to the CBN. |

Coolcash1: It remains an overvalued stock....Based on today's closing price DY is 3.07%....Just imagine....rubbish. Nestlé is a premium stock . The DY has always been low and I think it is a very good result. I will not touch the stock at the current price but those who hold that stock know what they want. Will not be surprised if price goes up from today closing price. |

awesomeJ: One corresponds to a planting season, whereas the other is harvest.
Don't you think we should have the harvest for longer? Long or short bull,I can't control. What I can control is what I focus on, and that is how I react to either bull or bear. |

awesomeJ: I guess it has overstayed its welcome. I'd like a 2-week bear for every month-long bull. That January bull run was too weird, the market has to rebalance it's self. Either bull or bear, I am prepared for both. |

awesomeJ: No mind us joo. It's obvious, you're just experienced and gifted, and we're blessed to have you here.
When someone asks. Fxuser " what're the charts saying", it would be more helpful to also ask Agba "what are the dreams saying"
cos for this NSE, dreams seem to be more helpful than charts.
Whoever dreams dreams should perhaps also open up with this God-given talent o, so that with 2 or 3 agreeing dreams, we can chase these bears away and buy ourselves some mammoth bulls. Why do you want to chase the bear away It is not good to always have the bull. |

crispgg: Please who can recommend a good online platform for trading on the NSE? I was told that some platforms do not actually enable you to buy real time but they only use it to receive orders. Then the platforms brokers now execute.
I will also appreciate advise on the website that can provide analysis and review of stock performance. Finally, abeg what is the recommendation on FBNH and ACCESS bank? Cardinalstone is good. |

not a recommendation to buy/sell o, i hav non of these stock in my portfolio
On numbers, UPL is better but the problem is that it is very difficult to make a projection on what the final eps will be just as oga wanaj0 pointed out. I entered the stock last year with small money and I was injured. My eyes are still on the stock thought. |

olyrayy: Thanks boss.
Something else. While reading the section on dealing with market fluctuations in The Intelligent Investor, Benjamin Graham suggested that since it's virtually impossible to predict market movements, an investor should buy switch to bonds when stocks are too high, and then when the price of stocks falls, he should revert to stocks.
Although I don't really get the hang of bonds, it seems there is an inverse relationship between the price of bonds and stocks. So, the question is this, does this work out well in practice? Considering the fact that I've heard that the yields from bonds are so little to make any difference.
Thanks boss. It works well here too but the major problem is knowing when to switch. One can say the price of stocks are too high and it can still continue to go up for the next two to three years. Just look at what is happening in America, for the past two to three years now, People have been saying the price of stocks were too high and yet they have continue to climb higher . Imagine if someone had sold his stocks 3 years ago on the assumption that price of stocks were too high. How do you think the person will be feeling now considering the fact that the returns you get from bonds /Tbills will be small compared with stocks As for TBills and stocks, they both have their advantanges.. With Tbills, you get a shorter tenure but with fluctuations in yield. With bonds, you have a longer tenure but you have stability with yield. |

Chibuking81: What is really happening in the market, see blood everywhere. What do we call this bear period? Maybe CBN policy bear.
We have so far witnesses; Dow bear, Fall in crude oil bear, and after this CBN policy bear, then election bear will surface. Nothing is really happening. Those yo-yo stocks that were running at full speed during the bull need to shed some weight. |
