Just wondering how every clear statements is getting waxed.
I once got trapped in Champion by thinking there was an 'N' in front of the 'zero point' .. grin
The stock entered FULL OFFER after my massive entry. On xchecking, I discovered it was my bias that introduced the 'N' inside my head..... grin
It took several moons and a parachute to land, I even eventually landed behind enemy line...? grin

Thanks a lot,
If am not mistaking their projected 2018 EPS should be around N8.92 or there about.
This should be among the stocks to watch for the year 2018.
Look very well o, trying to annualize that kind of profit could be dangerous.

A large chunk of the profit is from forex gain, don't know how sustainable that will be going forward.

I however agree it is a stock to watch, seems they have turned the corner.

You are a wicked somebody tongue

We were assured that DF will continue to grow revenue and profit at the rate it did in 2017.

Based on Q1, revenue dropped. Profit dropped.

Let's keep watching.
We are waiting for mr time to put things in the right perspective.

DS revenue also dropped, by q2 profit will most likely drop too. tongue

Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc Closure of Register : The Ex-div price of DANGSUGAR was not
reflected on the trading terminal on Monday, 16 April 2018. However, we took steps to ensure that
the transaction value of all trades executed on the security on the said date was settled with each
trade price adjusted for the N1.25K dividend declared by the Company. The stock closed at the
previous day's price because there were relevant market trades. Thus, the market capitalization and
the indices were unaffected by the incident.

when one is sure of corporate governance, bonus and dividend,it is an investment and if not sure of all these,i will say its gambling.I invested in zenith for returns and invested in japaul for baba ijebu returns.
Note:Gambling stocks gives quick money than the other.
Interesting that you admit buying japaul is like playing baba ijebu grin

Does he has influence in ZB good performance......any manipulationhuh?

I think ZB will trade #38.00 by Q2 if the maintain the good drive
I actually think he has influence on zenith performance. Na my own conspiratory theory o cool grin

Zenith seems to be the most consistent of all the banks in growing profit in the past two years.

In June 2016 gtb eps stood at N2.54 as against zenith of N1.13 which means gtb eps doubled that of zenith.
Fast forward to 2018 ,the eps is almost the same .

Na only them waka come huh

If market is refusing to respond to this Zenith Bank Q1 result, then NSE might be on a long thing.
The market will definitely respond at the appropriate time.
This might be the year when zenith will close the gap on gtb.

If this interview is TRUE, seems there will be no conversion of the Aureous loan to shares. Seems they will raise bonds to refinance the loan.

Nothing on the AGM notice gave any impression of NEW equity capital raising though.

Fingers crossed.

A bank with p.e of about 15, ROE of <5% and DY of near zero. You only buy this kind of stock if you have a revelation or you are an insider, lol. grin
When zenith has a p.e of <5, ROE of about 21% and DY of about 10%.

I beg mention another one grin

grin Since I dont have access to 52 week high by oga intendy, I'm going to use the 52 week high values as available on the trading platform

I'll start with Skye Vs Fidelity bank then Japaul vs Diamond bank

The highest price Skye has touched in 52 weeks is 1.61, this means it's currently trading at a 75% discount.

The highest price fidelity bank (with supposedly good fundamentals) has touched in 52 weeks is 4.33 which means it's currently trading at a 69% discount . Not much difference from Skye with all the negativities surrounding it if you ask me.

The highest price Japaul has touched in 52 weeks is 1.06 which means it's trading at a 92 percent discount.

Lets take a look at diamond, not so good fundamentals I agree but certainly not in the same league with Japaul. The highest price it has touched in 52 weeks is 3.73 which means it's trading at an 82% discount.

Again, not so different from Diamond bank.

Even the often mentioned dangote flour when talking about stocks with good fundamentals is trading at a 32% discount from its "52 week high"

It does look like the fear surrounding those "dead" stocks can't be all that justified in light of recent price action.
Good analysis.
If buying those "dead" stocks gives you better results, no problem.
That might be your strategy and I wish you well.

Reconstruction is not the main issue.

They have convertible notes issued that will be converted to equity. Do you know what the outstanding shares will be after the conversion? That to me is the major issue.
Could this be what you are talking about?

About N2.3 billion to be converted to equity ?
If we convert that at today closing price of N1.33, we will get about 1.7billion.
For a stock with an OS of about 1.6billion, we are looking at a possibility of about 100% dilution.

At CC, what is your take on this ?

Funny thing is, it's those stocks we consider dead that give the best return in the short term.

No fundamentally sound stock has given the kind of return Skye, Wema, Unitybank, Japaul and a host of others have given this year.
You can say that again to those that bought Skye, wema ,unity and japaul at their year high.
