[quote author=GudluckIBB post=50760723]it takes a bit of time like a month or 2, Your stocks will end up hanging in the air and by then morgan would have resolved their issues,You stock will not settle and it will be in cscs which you cant trade on.
Maybe by the time it eventually settles, the house you are moving it to might be placed on suspension for one reason or the other.
I dont think you are correct..I have done this before and i didnt experience what you are describing here. The main challenge is getting the old stockbroking house to sign you off.You can overcome this by getting a committed stockbroker who is ready to do the runing for you.Once your old stockbroking house signs you off,you are good to go. |

rebekah2011: This Morgan Capital got me thinking again. The Late MD resigned and worked with the Presidency before his demise. They have had a new CEO since. I do not understand this suspension by NSE, it can not be because of succession matter alone. There are other issues which every one has refused to tell us. I spoke with an official of the company now, the way she sounded makes me feel that it is a long way to go. We may just be looking at next year Did you actually believe mc was suspended because of succession issue? |

fxuser: just some random thots
- Fixed income yields continues to soak up local liquidity but fails to attract foreign inflow. (if you hav 1 billion Naira, its likely you will take a 1 Yr +20% T-Bill) - Unclear forex policy & fx liquidity will continue to drag most sectors - Banks have no reason to lend with such govt yields. Its FREE MONEY. - Without higher foreign participation and lower govt securities yield, capital market will remain cheaper for much longer - its safe to avoid earnings bias & dividend bias - 2017 Q1 games will be between Dividend yield versus Tbill Yield for short plays - d unclear fx policy and fx liquidity squeeze and inconsistent CBN interventions will soon throw up more economic jabs and further macro uncertainties - looking at d index over the last 3 - 5 years , its still bearish, making lowers highs each time. Caution to long term people - take profits always and cut losers quickly - 1 year daily chart : bearish - 1 year weekly chart : bearish -
#NoteToSelf Your analysis is spot on. kudos! |

carpenter: No fixation on FBN for me, but I am fixated about everything I own. I don't think FBN is a dying company, they are struggling and it might take years to get back but certainly not dying. ok o, wish you well! |

carpenter: DEFINITION of 'Average Down'
The process of buying additional shares in a company at lower prices than you originally purchased. This brings the average price you've paid for all your shares down.
http://www.investopedia.com/terms/a/averagedown.asp
say you bought 1,000 units @ 33 naira...costing you about 33,000 excluding fees and taxes.
Since you have taken a stand not to sell at less that 33, you can buy more say another 1,000 at 3 naira and your average cost of the stock will go down. That way you don't have to wait till it gets to 33.
1. 1,000 units @ 33=33,000 2. 1,000 units @ 3 = 3,000
TC=36,000 AC=36,000/2000= 18
So now only need to wait for 18 and not 33 to break even (fees and taxes not included)
The more you buy now, the better for you. Why the fixation on FBN? Why would anybody continue to put his money in a "dieing" company? For now,FBN should only be bought by traders(the jijo masters), there are better stocks out there. |

fxuser: - well depends but that won't be a major surprise. FX gains & all dat bonaza from this high govt interest environment will help. - its d NPL ratio that long term investors would be watching - Q2 NPL ratio was well above regulatory threshold at 22% ! anything far lower is step in d right direction - at d end of the day , its sentiments that drive markets !
dis: closely watching at 2.95 Well said my brother. In addition to the NPL ratio, investors will also be keeping an eye on CAR which stood at 15.4% @ q2, just a little above the regulatory minimum of 15%. Investors will not want to be caught with a bank with inadequate capital! |

Different strategies for different folks. Some years back, i would have jump in to buy gtb with that ''fantanstic results''. Now, i understand that those who take their time to read finacial statements of companies and understand it fare better than the crowd. They can see and predict fairly what might likeky happen to a company before others and as such take a position early enough. |

feelamong: where is the efficiency for a bank that had to make a provision of 57B for loan impairment charges..
if not for the Revaluation of Forex...they would have made a massive loss...infact this is a very poor result Well said my brother. 57b impairment charges is a red flag for discerning investors in GTB, value investors will think twice before investing in a company with a deteriorating assets. |

ExLaidback: Ok, but what is it about their history? not consistent in dividend payment or in revenue growth? kindly enlighten, cos I've not really followed these stocks for that long... Uba used to be synonymous with extra ordinary items. Then you could only use the audited results to place a fair value on the bank. The past 2years have been different however, as they appeared to have cleaned their books. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pluto09(m): 6:46pm On Oct 19, 2016 |
ExLaidback: It's pertinent to note that UBA's total earnings has perhaps for the first time in a long time exceeded that of GTB. While NSE sentiments may favour GTB for now, I do think that UBA is a much better buy considering present SP and value (i.e. if they get to add the FX gains to their dividend pay for FYE 2015). If they add the FX gains, their EPS would be very close to that of GTB (it ought to be higher but for the fact that they have a 23% higher OS than GTB).
We are watching, unfortunately my money is tied down in UCAP. So I no fit enter UBA.
This no be buy or sell recommend o Which ever way you look at it,at the current price, uba gives a better value for money. However, you have to look at thier history and antecedent, then one would understand while investors are cautious about uba.If uba shows more consistency in its operation, then,i will say it is only a matter of time,it will be rightly priced. |

leparj: Good news. If you play long term ie at least 10-15yrs, Load this stock n go to sleep. U wont regret it. May be you are talking of FBN of 15,20 yrs ago. If you buy FBN today, you have to watch it like a hawk otherwise your money can enter bush. |
