JUST THINKING: Every year a stock does magic, that if one identified early, would have greatly profited him. Can we suggest and analyse to benefit us here? At times, some people may have hidden/insider knowledge or just amazingly interesting insights

Last year, DANGFLOUR moved below N1.00 to over N4.00.
I almost took a cutlass to question the elders in my village.... grin
That journey was done through level grounds, hills and valleys. It was like magic. At times the fundamentals, at other times the Technicals threw us all overboard on that journey, our life jacket was our STOP LOSS and POSITION SIZES.... grin

Which stock do we think will do this in 2017 or are all stocks presently overvalued?

Lets kick start an interesting discussion... grin
My no 1 pick is fidson. I don't expect it to go from below N1 to N4 just like dangote flour did last year but a recovery of about 100% is possible in a year time.
Will be discussing my reasons for picking fidson as we make progress with our discussion.

lols. confirm from Peeo; I did with Ikole nao, then; I used to get it at 7k; I just mentioned it when Peeo was raising issue abt the high price in akwa ibom. bossman? Before I could realise what happened, my nairaland people flooded that place, made the women put the price at unreasonable rate. Their king had to interfere with the hike price and stabilize it little. Still on the high side sef. Scarcity is now a big issue for us. Have bn on the road since Tuesday, gathering oil. God bless our hustle.
So you are the one that caused that stampede in ikole, lol. Getting oil in that axis now is a big competition. Anyway we are scouting round for cheap oil in ekiti, price is now 9k as of today, can't say what the price will be tomorrow.

Below is a snap shot of a 5- year free cash flow projection of Transcorp. This method of valuation is called the Discounted Free Cash Flow (DFCF), discounted free cash flow method of evaluation is based on the principle that the value of a company can determined by discounting its projected or future free cash flow to arrive at a present estimated value. This value is generally referred to as the intrinsic value or the fundamental value.
The market price of Transcorp as at today 4/19/2017 is 0.82k, market participants have valued Transcorp to be 0.82k, from the snap shot, the estimated fundamental value of Transcorp is 0.89k, and this means Transcorp is undervalued by 8.5%. Should this encourage a buy, a sell or a hold investment decision? Investment decision cannot solely be based on one valuation method, analysts employ other methods such as the price multiples, residual income model and a complete analysis of the company.
Bring it on, you are highly welcome

Is the result Good, Bad or Ugly?
The result could be best described as flat.
Fundamentally, the stock is still expensive at current price. However if you understand all the charts on displayed, you can join the technical people to take a stake.

How come nobody saw ci leasing coming?
I am surprised I didn't see that ci leasing coming. May be because I was once trapped in the stock. I am looking at the result now and I think it is impressive.
Do you know if any dividend was declared?

It will take a bad Q1 result to keep FCMB under N1. It opens 2moro at N1.01

Locodemy, don tire for FCMB wahala. He has defended, prophesied, mopped up, cajoled and done FA/TA/SA and NFA grin grin grin
Anytime I am tempted to buy fcmb and fbn,I get scared away when I take a look at their results again and again.
Remove the paper profit of fx revaluation from their PAT and the two banks will end up with a loss.
Q1 result will be very interesting, will their be fx revaluation again to boost profit? Will they report a negative/positive net income if there is no fx revaluation?? Time and only time will tell....

- umm
- monthly chart RSI looks good
- weekly Macd been horizontal just above zero
- its been range bound after that massive rally last year
- we can't ignore that last week breakout
- Fundamental analyst will be analysing that FYE and upcoming Q1

Note:
its a low volume stock (weekly vol usually < 5m units)

Dis:
please not a recommendation , just observing and sharing random thots

What do you guys think ?
Fundamentally, dangote flour is a very good stock to watch. The only negative thing is the accumulated losses. Can the pullback bring it to N4huh- that will be a very good entry point.

This is just my thought on DF and not a recommendation to buy.

Why sell Fidelity Bank shares for N1.00 now if I can sell for N1.40 in 2 to 3 months times?
In the stock market, we all work on probability. Nothing is guaranteed. Nobody knows what Fidelity bank price will be in 2 to 3 months.

http://punchng.com/banks-non-performing-loans-hit-n2tn-cbn/

"Overall, the report explained that credit risk remained tangible in 2017 as obligors remained constrained in servicing both naira and foreign currency denominated loans owing to the low level of economic activities, low international oil prices and the depreciation of the naira."

Fidelity's Q1 2017 will be very crazy (in a good way) because Q1 2016 was very significantly degraded by impairments. PAT for 2017 may be 70 - 100% higher than 2016. Same goes for the other banks.
My brother, don't get too carry away by Fidelity o.
The impairment are still there and they are getting bigger and bigger everyday though Fidelity is in a better shape compare to other banks when one looks at their impairment charges

With the refusal of sellers to sell FBNH below N3.10 hope when the results is out and dividend announced, FBNH won't be another Fidelity that surprised everyone including yours truly.

Discl: Yours truly is heavy on FBNH and plans to load more.
To a very large extent, the direction of fbn price movement will be determined by its result. A very good result will usher in the much awaited bull while a poor result might trigger another round of sell off.

What was the dividend yield last year? With a fall in PAT one expects the div yeild to at most stay the same. Hope we are not going back to the days of Oceanic with these banks!
Among all the banks that have released their results so far,Fidelity is one of the best in term of asset quality. Nothing to worry about for now.Going forward, we will keep our eyes on them...
