I don't underdstand why despite UACN impressive q3 performance SP is heading south. When will fortune turn around for this company, abi na huge debt owed to banks dey kill them
There is always a time lag between price of a stock and the fundamentals of the company. Just one more strong quarterlly performance and the price will surely respond positively.

Honestly people, I am loving this argument about FO... Frankly, it has everything at least for now, working in its favour...Good EPS, DY, DPO all driven by favourable macro economic variables in terms of energy policy and cride oil price and operational excellence.

I think it's sheer wickedness for anyone to say the share value is not worth more than N30...Far from it! Currently, it is underpriced and with good 9-M financial performance to the coy's credit, its just a matter of time for the expected rally to happen.

I have based my buy decision on these variables and can only sip my Don Moet to wait for the upsurge to happen... grin
I cannot understand why you think those variables are good for fo.EPS is < N3 for a stock selling above N70,that will give you a p/e of around 25. DY is < 5% in this our market. May be there are some other things you see in the stocks but those variables are not attractive to say the least. And less I forget, did you check the CF?

We shall know who is right and who is wrong with time............na so they warn pa Emma on skye bank and he was defending the stock as you are doing now.Today,pa Emma is missing in our midst...........who knows how much he invested there?

You still have the opportunity of walking away with a hair cut or yo go for 50 50.........you may also choose to call a friend(peterichy) to help you out................
There is a thin line between stock market investment and gambling.
For all we care, the guy might hit it big in fo. I don't have any problem with people buying fo. My disagreement with him on the stock is based on his assertion that fo is a good stock. I understand him better now as I see him as someone who buys on sentiment and who says he cant be right.

Market has the final say but you can do your due diligence too and no need to pass judgement.
If you are following market sentiment in buying stocks, no problem. However, don't mistake sentiment for fundamental or technical analysis.

Lets face it you can only relate with penny stocks and most of us felt that way before but we have lost opportunities based on that.Do you know that the fair value of TOTAL is 560Naira and FO fair value is 250Naira.Stocks with good fundamentals and nice business niche always cling their fair value at in a year.
What valuation method did you use in arriving at a fair value for total and fo or you just assign a figure that suit your fantasy? And for anybody to think that whatsoever we say here about a stock has a bearing on the share price on NSE is sheer pettiness.

Still one of the companies with good Q1,Q2 and Q3 results.Your dislike is what made a lot of people to loose from that stock.Within 2months I made millions on that stock which I may not make on any banking stick within that shortest period.Every stock has a way of moving and time to move. For FO is just the time to buy and if you are so much into less risky low priced stock, it will be hard to see that the best returns comes from well placed stocks.I believe the dilution from the bonus scrip is affecting the price as many people now have access to the stock than previously.
What is EPs of FO ?.The stock is a juju stock.
If you are not an insider you have to b careful with fo. Technical ppl like fxuser will tell you that fo is too hot to handle and fundamentally it is a no no.
You might have been lucky to make money in fo but that does not mean it is a good stock.

There is so much misinformation in this post. I'm not surprised it was written by Chacha Wabara. She should stick to her legal profession, and not form expert economist.

The first lesson when floating a currency is that anything other than a COMPLETE float is destined to fail. When policy makers fiddle with the exchange rate, black-market activity inevitably surges, as Nigeria’s experiment with a free-float attests. It can also be costly. Russia spent about $90 billion defending the ruble against short-sellers in 2014 before ultimately giving up in November that year.

Just look at Argentina. President Mauricio Macri removed a crawling peg on the peso on Dec. 17, 2015. The move was part of an economic overhaul aimed at luring investment and jump-starting an economy suffering from anaemic growth and a shortage of dollars.

Was it effective? While the currency slid 27 percent on its first day of freedom, the depreciation since then has slowed and inflation is showing signs of easing. The peso’s three-month historical volatility has fallen to among the lowest in Latin America. Investors showed their renewed confidence in the country last year by mopping up a record $33 billion of international bond sales, while the use of black-market exchanges by locals, a widespread practice before the free float, has become less common.

What about Russia? Russian Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina abandoned currency interventions in November 2014 as the country grappled with sanctions and a slump in the price of oil, its main export. The ruble, which rebounded last year, is still down about 32 percent since then.

Was it effective? Two years on, implied three-month ruble volatility has fallen to levels last seen before the free-float, inflation expectations are coming down, net capital outflows have slowed and Nabiullina has been lauded as Europe’s most-orthodox central banker. What’s more, households have lost interest in currency swings and are keeping 60 percent of their savings in rubles, according to a poll released in August.

LESSON: Don't do a half-hearted float like Nigeria's and expect it not to fail. Also, don't do it too late. In Nigeria's case, it's probably too late. Buhari and his goons have so much destroyed the economy that things will only get worse unless Oil goes to above $50 levels and the Niger Delta militants do not 'show him pepper'.
You have said it all. I equally agree we wasted too much time in deciding on what to do with our currency managemet.

You need to be circumspect in recommending stocks.
Where in I agree that those stocks you mentioned might be good,I strongly believe that it might not be wise to enter at the current price. No matter how good any stock is,overpaying for it will surely affect ROI.My two kobo opinion.

Lmao ! Na really e-origin. I know some people would come for my head for what I'm about to do but at least it is better than you being cheated after hustling to get oil for customers.
Go to anybody selling kegs, tell them you want to buy kings and emperor, buy 5lts and use it to measure water/oil inside the two gallons. See how many of d 5lts each keg can contain. There ! You have your answer.
Thanks for the reply. My assumption is that emperor is bigger than kings since most of my customers who buy from me always prefer the former. I will do as suggested since i have the two at home. Thump up.

You don finish the matter nah, how many Naija get capacity to buy in drum? So its better we listen to the complains of each customer, make adjustment, make the little gain 'makeable' and stay in biz. You see that kings and emperor wahala na im boku pass. It still came up with a client before I dozed off. Lagos customers want Kings, Ondo customers want emperor. Lol.
Ekiti customers also want emperor, but i cant understand why lagos customers will want kings since it is generally believe that emperor is bigger than king or what is your take?

It will only get to 97kobo. Last year EPS was 43k and 35k final dividend was declared. The expected dividend can not be more than 50k. As it is sef, it is overvalued. My Oga please look elsewhere.
Overvalued? By what parameters? I doubt it if there will be any stock that will beat UCAP in term of dividend yield in the next earning season!

Is there any possibility of DANGFLOUR paying dividend for FYE16?
With an accumulated loss of over N17b as at sept 2016, the possibility of paying dividend is slim. Of course, that will not stop the share from price appreciation.,my thought though.

It is not his job to make claims on monetary policies. He can give his view. He did that before and phew the currency was fraudulently stage/state managed(Nigerian version of Float). He has just smartly said the same. Expect the outcome soon.

He has plenty work in his office to do as the Leader of the econimic team. We don't even have an economic policy(good or bad) at the moment.
We are planting rice and pumping money into the ecomony is not a policy(the outcome of that so far is starvation on the street).

Agricultural Transformation Agenda, Structural Adjustment programme, Operation feed the Nation, Better Life(IBB). These are econimic policies that can be measured against outcome. Some will say they all failed.

What is the Economic Policy from the Staples of this Government? FX rate?

Our disposable income loses value every day and this Govt. collect salaries and other benefits in full, while eating free food in Aso Rock, driving people fueled luxury Automobiles.

Help me here, at what rate does Govt officials( Buhari, Osinbajo, Kemi Adeosun, Udo Udoma, LIE Mohd etc convert the unspent portion of the estacode when they return from foreign trip. I laugh in DSS rate grin grin grin cheesy cheesy cheesy wink wink wink

Yeah I think part of the NPL is caused by revaluation losses due to FX devaluation. That's dollar denominated loans increase with depreciation of naira (someone may confirm this as I may be wrong)

But this is a bad time for them truly. I warned about Diamond some 2 months back, someone said I wasn't making sense grin
If you look at diamond bank results for the past 3 years, you will discover that they have always had issue with NPL. anyway sha, make we they look ...

I won't rule anything out cos in business world nothing is impossible. But their predicament is caused primarily by FX troubles and devaluation not foolish spending like Skye (they have some huge liabilities denominated in dollars but they can reduce their exposure by FX swaps) . So ordinarily I think they are more likely to recover faster than Skye even if they post loss now. Just my opinion though
Just check the history of diamond impairment charges.Their NPL ratio is second only to first bank from the rear. They are also struggling with adequate capital and a futher devaluation of the naira will cause
their CAR to go below regulatory minimum of 15%. This is not the best of time for diamond bank.

Meanwhile I did small analysis on Diamondbnk recently and it seems too early to purchase as they are likely to post a loss by the end of this year if care is not taken. So their price might still fall far below what it is now before finding support
People shoulb be very careful about diamond bank.We can only hope that diamond bank will not become another skye.
