The problem with nigerian 5g is that it'll be fine for 6 months and once more users switch, the providers never upgrade their capacity to follow suit. In one year, nigerian 5g will be doing speeds of 3.5MBPS and they'll start drumming adverts for 6g.

Nuisances.

Please for your sanity sake, don't bother. I migrated from their 12.5k plan to 60k premium plan because of speed issues, after migration speed is fine when it's connected though, but you must be ready for continuous down time. You can't escape that.

He probably missed where i said the community bought the transformer. If that's not a contribution i wonder what is. In sane countries, government provide those to it's citizens.

Hello fellow Nairalanders, there's been an issue that's been bothering my mind of late and i think it's best to have an open discuss on the matter.

In my area here, we've not had electricity supply for more than 2months now. You'll wonder what happened right, please read on.

The transformer got spoiled, and was impossible to supply us with electricity. This is the same transformer that the community contributed and paid for with their money o, and as soon as they installed it, electricity bill started coming in from NEPA.

Now it's been bad for 2 months now. Since then NEPA or phcn or ibpc hasn't brought any bill though, and they've not come to fix it. So the community took it upon themselves to fix the transformer, to the tune of 900k, each house contributing 5k each.

Well, you'll think that's all, but no. They fixed the transformer and brought it back, to pass electricity on it now, they say it needs oil. Money for oil is estimated to cost extra 600k. In fact it was later suggested that buying the oil doesn't guarantee longevity, so the best option now is to buy a new transformer instead.

Now my question is, what exactly are we, as citizen, enjoying from our government in this country? Because this same transformers are in various ex governor's and senators compounds, many having tens of them in their compounds, and we the citizens still have to contribute to have our own transformers. What's worse is that immediately it's installed, we get billed by the electricity companies... without any support or gain from these companies. You'll even have to beg them to please come and help you fix a pole or any issue you have in the community.

I believe the basic amenities a functioning government ought to provide is safe drinking water, good road and electricity amongst others. I for one don't enjoy any from this current government. Maybe you are, mind sharing your thoughts, or are my expectations too much?

I use to tell someone,it's not about the trade you learn, it's about who taught you.

Look at a trade, then look at your boss, if his current lifestyle is not what you wish for yourself, find a different boss or a different trade if it's a trend in the line if trade.
