Mailthaddeus:A formwork is a medium used to hold the concrete in place till the concrete as developed enough strenght to hold the its own weight and the weight of the imposed load. The firmly excavated trench serves as a formwork, there are only two situations that would require a wooden or metal formwork inside an excavated trench. 1- The soil is too loose to hold its self to keep its excavted form, resulting in collapse of the trench sides 2- Extra working space required in the excavated trench, meaning the trench is excavated wider than the required width of the structural member , this occures in the case where a strip footing is not used and only the pad base is excavated down to the required depth The British standard codes and several literatures like the ones a refered you to ealier explain all this in details. I think you should take time to read them for better understanding of standard building practices. Thank you. |
[quote author=Mailthaddeus post=48113183]Another thing again is that u claim to use an isolated and pad footing foundation yet, I can't clearly see ur 1.2x1.2m pad form. All am seeing is basket placed directly on blinding. This is wrong construction. please, Take a breathe and check the threand from the begining and this time read it slowwwwwly, You would clearly notice the locations where the clounm pad base are is bigger in size than the strip footings. The first excavation is the strip footing measuring 675mm( 3xblockwidth as prescribed by relevants building codes which state a minimum width of 3W as a specification to counter the effect of the load which acts at 45° to the stip base, the stip base csn be wider depending on the load from the building but for a duplex with pad footings 3W was achieved in our calculations), Next excavation is the pad base, which is 1.2m x 1.2m where the labourers excavate only the regions with a pad base wider from the initial 675mm to the 1.2m width and deeper to achieve the depth of the pad base, this 1.2m x 1.2m width is achieved from the structural design and follows desame prosedures as the stip footing with much more mathematics and reinforcement specifications due to weakness of concrete in tension. I know your confusion comes from the fact that after the casting, a uniform level of pad base and stip footing was achieved hopr by above explanation rectifies your confusion. After we are done with excavation, we blind the pad bas alone to a thickness of 75-50mm, thats the blind thickness recommend for Reinfroced concrete members in direct contact with soil. The blind of the pad base serves as a cover for reinforcement agaisnt moisture rise and chemical attack from chemical agents that may exist in the soil, which are detrimental to the structural intergrity of the reinforcement. Finnaly we place our pad base reinforcement on the 75mm pad blinding, the reinforcement have been bent to specifications of the structural drawings. We place our colunm reinfrocement and centralize them to avoid unintended moments generated from uncentralised colunms. Our foundation is ready for casting. At this stage we cast both the pad base and strip footing to the same level [quote author=Mailthaddeus post=48113183] need to use expert and certified civil and building engineers in any project cannot be over emphasized. Myself and Abdulwastecx both have a B. EnG in civil engineering from the presitigious federal university of technology, minna. I and Abdulwastecx both graduated top10 our ingraduating class. [quote author=Mailthaddeus post=48113183] ,Now of what use is the plinth beams to this structure at dat level of d dpm? It wuld bear more loaad of that beam ws at d base of d foundation tieing the bases of the pads together. And in this case, shuld be Tie/link beams. And the blocks can now sit on d beam. We take so many things for granted because Nigeria is blessed wit good and stable soil, else so many collapses will be happening daily. You mistake a Plinth beam from a Grade beam. The beam we used is a plinth beam, The one you are refering to his a grade beam of which both serve different puposes. Of which for this project and based on the structural members already used, A Plinth beam was most appropriate. Thank you. References. msogunro:Its called a Reinforced concrete (RC) grade beam.... Its an upgrade from your normally used strip footing.. Its used in situations of undesirable soil conditions. Its a common mistake to call an RC grade beam a raft beam in Nigeria Send me a mail to comfirm your estimate |
ikemeze:Hello sir, Kindly send us a mail or whatsapp message through the details attached to our signatures @podosci and @abdulwastecx |

tonyx4x44:The northern part of Nigeria has lost its societal values and would remain to hold the rest of the cou try backwards if it dosnt go back to its roots. The church and its occupant have a right to worship anyday, anytime and anywhere. |
skebuzor:Are you foolish? Why in the world would i risk my life to go take pictures of irate hausa youths vandalising a church with their elders looking on? I am lucky they didnt attack those of us in our cars, wont i be extremely stupid if left the small safety of my car to go take pictures? This is Nigeria, life as no meaning. I could be killed just like that. Next thing you know pictures of my dead body would hit front page with a caption " Man killed trying to take pictures of irate muslims destroying a church" |
skebuzor:I was there on friday, The youths moved straight from the mosque and preceded to damaging the church directly opposite it. I saw women running fron the church. I dont know if its something the imam preached or too much weed but the muslim youths attacked the vhiech and its worshipers. The most surprising thing was i saw elderly muslim men who were watching the nuisance and refused to take action. They just stood by and watch it happen. "Evil prevails when good men do nothing" |
eagleonearth:You read the whole statement and picked out a typographical error as your point of reference. Wow, just wow |
Umarlulu:Even after the abolishment of physical slavery, the mental slavery still persisit. Jesus, Oduduwa, Amadioha are Gods in their rights. Oduduwa is our own indegenious God, what gaves anybody the right to put a white mans jesus before an African Oduduwa? |
waleh89:I in the eyes of the law the beneficiaries of a crime are seen as conspirators and can be sentenced to the same punishment as the actual perpetrators. |
cktheluckyman:Meaning without the presence if the 2015 mass members, The nass bureaucracy can preparing their own standing rules. Going by that logic, you realise its possible to make radical changes like," Stating there would be no election for a Senate president, the senate is to be selected by the president". I am just pointing out the error in your statement |

charlione:All politicians are the same and not worth the stress. They have impovrished us and left us fighting one another while they dine together. I didnt see any politician worthy of my vote. |
charlione:I didnt... |
shiimah:You see the problem? Can you see why ignorant people like you shouldnt vote? You cant even tell the differencr between Obama and Buhari ? Wow.... Simply clap for yourself, clap ![]() |
shiimah:Your matter concernes me because ignorant Nigerians like you would keep voting a Buhari or Gonathan rather than an Obama or cameron.if we dont move to clear the large population of ignorant Nigerians, we would never move forward. |
shift15:Please, kindly show us that you are not ignorance... Firstly, i am not saying there is no US court judgment but i want you to please tell me you have read the whole document. Taking a quote out of a multiple page document is more than ignorance, its stupidity. Second. Did Fayose make copies of the judgment available to you? Did he even try to contact the US justice department to clarify and back up his claim? Infact, did he even try to provide an internet link for gaulible Nigerians like you to go and verify is accusations?. Please show us you are not one of those Nigerians i am pusbing to relinquish their right to vot,e, Because no good can come from ignorant people voting |
ahms12:Okay let it go this way Aisha Buhari and Fayose would sign an agreement, If she visits the Us without getting arrested, Fayose would drop his immunity clause, there by paving way for his defence in a court of law regarding the money laundering accusations. As an added bonus, You and the rest ignorant Nigerians would relinquish your rights to vote. We cant expect good leaders if people with this kind of thought process are allowed to vote and the worst thing is, its people like you that have the larger share of the population. Do we have a deal? |
shiimah:Democrasy is flawed because the system was meant to be used by intelligent people. When you have a situation where 90% of a countries citizen cannot comprehend or even think for themselvs, how are they suppose to elect leaders to lead them? When i read statements like this, most times i ignore but sometimes its just too uninteligent for me to ignore and i try my best to assit the individual. 1- When you make a statement accusing someone, the duty falls on you to prove the person guity not vise versa but in Nigeria an Ignorant fellow like Fayose can just open his mouth and the millions of uneducated masses would believe him 2-If the person making the statement has a history of fraud or making ignorant statement, then its best for the intelligent citizens to ignore him but the ignorant once can continue. Like i said Nigeria has a population of 70% citizens with below average I. Q( Some lack the ability to live in civilised countries) , so its normal for alot of people to suppport Fayose. Remeber Fayose insulted his own morther by insinuiting his morther is using pampers just to sneer Buhari, fayose was ealier impeached for fraud, Fayose went as far as insulting the memories of past Nigerian leaders just to sneer Buhari. 3. Aisha Buhari visited UK during the election campaign and if she has a case to answer in the US, the UK authorities would have extradited her back to Us to answer for her crimes then but presently Aisha has Diplomatic immunity has wife of the president. Even if visits the US, she cannot be arrested. 4. In civilised countries when something like this happens, you suie the accuser for defamation and demand alot of money from him has compensation. Aisha intialy took the ignorant path by calling him out on twitter and showing her anger but it semms her advisers have shown her she has the opportunity to clear her name and make some money in the process. One Question. Did you even try to enlgihten yourself by reading the case file and not to fall among the ignorant Nigerians? Google is available, Sahara reporters made available their own findings. |
I googled and didnt see any statement from the FBI or US justice department. Please can you help us by providing a link to the FBI statement? |
