Poems For Review / Oxymoron : Brotherly Foes by poetictwenty(m): 9:41am On Mar 28, 2020
Love seems to live only on our tongue,
While our heart waters the seed of hate.
We claim to love our neighbors,
But join to caste stones on his helpless body.
We're just a virus eating the sick body of humanity,
While waiting to shed tears at his transition to eternity,
And contribute part of our cursed treasures for her burial.
You send the prices of food to high heavens,
And smile as your pockets grows like a belly of a pregnant woman.
You watch a brother starve, so your pocket can feed.
You join to crucify the government,
When you're like those thieves crucified along Jesus.
You wash your guilt in the waters called "It is business",
Naming yourself wise, and giving your cursed treasures to same God who says,
''Love is the greatest commandment,
Love your neighbor as yourself",
While all you do is dine on the blood of your brother.
You claim you sale as costly as you buy,
But I saw you hoarding the goods ,
like a butcher making sharp his knife
to ends the animals life when the time is right.
Here you join to put you brother to death,
While at his burial, you show sympathy and wealth.
You watch as your brother is defeated at the war in his stomach,
While you keep back those armoury that could have saved him.
And here you join the world to sing,
We will never walk alone in this trouble times.
When you should fight beside me against an invisible enemy,
You chose to put a bullet on me, from behind.

Poems For Review / Tell The World by poetictwenty(m): 7:39pm On Mar 26, 2020
If by tomorrow I breath no more,
Please, don't call me a coward.
Tell my children how great a hero I was
And how I fought life and survived.
Tell the stories of how I survived death
When Earth named me a child of 'still birth'.
Tell my children the story of how I challenged life to a fight,
And took from it the silver spoon
it took from me before I was born
And how I handed it over to them- my children.
Tell the world the story of a child
Who tasted victory even when he was named defeat at birth.
Tell my children that the Iroko tree they became its branch,
Was just a seed that grew in a desert.
Tell my children how I survived ebola, Coronavirus and death buried in unprotected sex in the days of my stupidity.
Tell my children that I am an epitome of survival,
And my name should be inked in the pages of their heart.
Tell the world that I lived and survived,
And my name deserves a place in the history books of the greats.

how did you celebrate this year's world poetry day?
Poems For Review / I Am Not A Poet by poetictwenty(m): 12:31pm On Mar 21, 2020
They say poets are prophets
Who knows the mind of the universe.
Their pen moves like a model on a runway,
Leaving behind words knitted in lines, stanzas and verses.

Poets has a nest in the minds of everyone - forever
And they dissolve the thoughts of their host into inks.
They put the loud voices in their heads
Into a silent words that resonates in the minds of the reader.
....

Poetry they say is a beautiful lady,
Created by minds battling with their thoughts.
She could be dark, fair or white
But in which ever colour she's never ugly.

I am a lover of poetry, not a poet.
I am a man who loves emptying his sorrow into a listening paper.
A man that loves the dance step of a pen on a paper,
Who climax by cuddling a pen in his closet.

Is it for shell/ Petan internship?

PETAN internship test was conducted by Dragnet and not c factor. Dragnet and c factor are different recruitment examination bodies.
unless shell decided to take the recruitment from Dragnet and hand it to c factor for reasons best known to them...
Poems For Review / Paradoxical by poetictwenty(m): 9:40am On Mar 20, 2020
As fear rules the thought of the universe,
With each human counting their breath,
Hoping the next won't be their last.
I walked the surface of the Earth to see what has become of it.

I watched as birds sat on a roof of a factory in Wahum,
listening to the sweet Melodies of their voices.
In Milan , I saw a street without a homeless,
For life of a beggar is now counted useful by all.

The thick clouds covered by fumes in China,
Now looked blue, grey and clear.
I heard a son praying with smiles covering his face,
For he has seen a day where his family can spend time together,
He has never shared a joke with his parents who spends all day at work.

I saw the telephone of an elderly smiling,
Because each day now brings him the call of a son, who once waited to visit home when he hears of his death.
In Italy, I saw the church, mosques and temple,
Opening her gate to all to find solace,
Not minding the religion we proffers.

I saw my neighbor looking through the window ,
hoping mine will be open so she can see my face ,
And know if I am okay or if she could be of help.
I saw the soldiers matching the streets of Rome,
Just to check if there is any with needs.

I saw love walking the face of Earth,
And hatred starving in the minds it once fed fat.
I saw pain, death and sorrow,
But I also saw a world where we share in the pains of one another
Where every life counts,
And where we all work together for a better tomorrow.

Op,the population of jukuns in taraba is overrated.they mostly occupy wukari and takum and one other lgas.the kuteb and ichens are not jukuns.the fulanis and mumuyes outnumber the jukuns

that's true,...in Takum, the Jukuns only occupy a small portion of that lga ( Mostly the city centre), the rest of the villages in Takum lga is occupied by the kuteb tribe.
Poems For Review / If Tomorrow Never Comes by poetictwenty(m): 11:47am On Mar 08, 2020
If the sun should set at noon today,
And the grave becomes my new home.
Please, bury me together with our memories of yesterday,
And cleanse your heart of all that reminds you of me.

My ears will be deaf to your crying,
And my eyes can't see those tears from your eyes dropping on my still body.
My heart will become an empty room, with no occupant therein
And my hands will become weak to receive the handshake of anybody.

Dear friend, bleed not your heart.
Continue your journey and don't be torn apart.
I am a sojourner, roaming the face of Earth.
see me as a man who your journey crossed his path.

Let me never be the source of your tears and pain.
We believe that death is a start to a new beginning .
So dear friend, I know we might meet again.
Maybe, in a new bodies on Earth or a place beyond the sky.

[quote author=Ladyjane5657 post=86734141] Wait lemme gist u pipo what happened to me yesterday:

Nnpc will not kii mi o... cheesy
BTW, some of y'all crying and bemoaning ur fates, do u pipo want to fall the wall of this thread with ur cries? Pls wipe ur tears, life is just starting..

Have I told u people Shell, Total and ExxonMobil Mobil either rejected me after ist or second tests one time or another? I didn't feel it.. Even tho I felt for the huge mulla slipping tru my fingers that I could do nothing about... I know I would not have felt Nnpc too if not that the length of time it took the Apl to materialize made us unconsciously fall madly in love with them.. And letting go is giving mad feelings like a lover's. But we will be fine.

So back to my gist.

.....

...

Lol... mine was bloody. I had to leave p/Harcourt for Benin on Sunday for a Cbt that I initially was reluctant to attend because of distance. The said journey will for a long time remain the worst journey I have ever embarked on. The countless NNPC fuel stations and trucks I came across kept breaking the pieces of my heart that I was trying to stitch together. At some point, I had to just close my eyes till I got to my destination.
To further add insult to injury, today , a nigga I met at the cbt venue innocently brought up a topic that made me to stylishly isolate myself from everyone at the venue...we dey talk , baba just raise topic concerning NNPC CBT. That topic killed my vibe,... Me wey dey like talk for exam venue just to while away time, ended up surrounding myself with ghost of my silence.
#Thanks to my blooders, they were a perfect Elixir.
#the healing was faster than I thought

What went wrong? This question has been on my lip since I woke up after crying my to sleep. Initially , I was strong, too strong to let my emotion show. But when friends and family started putting calls across to me after the news of the recruitment broke, My heart became a cloudy sky, too weak to stop the rains from falling. They say thunder never strike at a place twice, they lie, because mine has been thrice in two months. But this one forced me into the body of a child who still feeds on his mother's breasts. After walking down memory lane: remembering the stress that accompanied my registration, the energy I put in during my Cbt and the journey to my interview, I find it hard to say GOD KNOWS BEST. If I say my heart is broken, I lie. My heart is ripped apart, by a volcano that erupted in it. I pray I bounce back stronger, though it seem impossible at this moment.

I remember how I became a bitter word in the lips of mama
L-ike a fly hovering around a palm wine
O-blivious of the many hands that wants to end its life and
V-oices calling on each other to scare it away...
E-ndangered my life just to have you.
A-s a "kolonut" never loses its tastes in the mouth of the chief priest,
D-arling, may our love never grow old.
A-s the "ikoro" sings the ode of hero's who conquered their adversaries
M-otivating children to wear the shadows of our brave forefathers.
M-ay our love be a template of what love should be,

H-ere in my solitude I stitch my heart:
A-n heart you ripped apart on the altar of deception,
P-iercing through it countless swords buried in your words.
P-ushing me to a point death became my closest friend.
Y-ou're like a sweet poison I drank smiling,
V-olcano that made my heart its epicenter
A-nd a whirlwind that uprooted my whole being
L-eaving me lost in the desert of my mind.
E-ach year, this day visits me with memories of you.
N-avigating me through the paths our footprints stood beside each other.
T-he nights we watched the skys miles apart with our heart caged together...
I am still hunted by these memories that I can't erase,
N-ow fueling the drumbeat that force my pen to dance.
E-ach ink now becoming an elixir of a broken heart.
